Primordial Soul's Rebirth

CHAPTER 385 - Stupid Theri!

Alex, Alice, Luna, Ann, Noctura, and Theron walked through a forest right next to the imperial capital of the Ferox Empire.

The forest was filled with large trees reaching a height that seemed like they were touching the sky from the humans' perspective.

They would come across some beasts once in a while, and although those beasts were strong, none of them were attacked as they walked along with the emperor of this domain.

So, for everyone other than Theron, this was sightseeing, and as they walked along with Alex, passing some remarks at each other, they enjoyed their time—that was until their peace was interrupted by a loud baam.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om

*BAAM!*

The sound came from right beside them, but they didn't see anything or feel anything; it was as if a bomb had just gone off next to them.

They didn't even feel a shockwave or the said baam.

The next second, however, they saw a guy with long white hair standing in the spot Theron was a moment ago, and Theron was nowhere to be seen, causing their bodies to tense.

The guy didn't look strong; he rather looked weak with his thin body, but for some reason, they felt that he was dangerous.

But that was from the perspective of the girls; Alex, on the other hand, saw everything, as his all-seeing eyes were always semi-activated, scanning the beasts in the area.

He saw Theron's eyes widen the moment he caught sight of the white flash moving toward them at a speed so fast that Luna, Alice, Ann, and Noctura, who were all epic-rankers, with Alice being an exception to reach legendary rank, couldn't even perceive it.

Alex also saw Theron trying to move his arms up to cover his face, only to be punched in the stomach—a punch that sent him flying into the distance.

The white-haired guy, however, had a mocking grin on his face, which seemed weird as his face was cute, and that evil and taunting grin didn't suit his expression at all.

"I told you before, didn't I? Always be ready!"

He spoke as he stared in the direction Theron was shot at; he kept looking at that side as if waiting for something, and his wait didn't prove to be pointless as another sound of something whistling through the air was heard.

*Woosh*

Luna, Ann, Alice, and Noctura didn't have to think hard about who it was, as they knew there was only one person who was thrown away from here.

They squinted their eyes and steeled their bodies, ready for a shockwave, but the boom they waited for never arrived.

*Grab**Thud*

"Argh….."

All they heard was the sound of something hitting the ground, followed by a low groan, and then they saw Theron lying on the ground, under the feet of the white-haired guy, groaning as his head was being crushed by the guy's foot.

They froze in their spots, unable to process what had happened: did Theron—the one who caused Alex to go through so much effort to defeat—get knocked without even getting a strike?

They were again unable to make out what had happened, but Alex could.

He saw Theron rushing at the white-haired guy with his fist covered in golden flames, only to have his punch grabbed by the white-haired guy, and his body pushed toward the ground by the use of his body's momentum.

The white-haired guy didn't even use mana; all he did was make use of his physical prowess and Theron's momentum.

"You are still too young to land a hit on me, Theri."

The white-haired guy, who was, of course, the white tiger Shirozan, laughed out loud, his mouth wide open, again something that didn't match his cute looks.

The next second, however, he turned to look at Alice, causing her to tense up a bit with her brows creased.

"Who are you?"

He asked, his nose twitching as if he could sense some familiarity from her.

"Are you Emberlyn?" Enjoy new chapters from empire

He didn't wait for Alice's answer as he hurriedly asked another question.

"Emberlyn?"

Alice, on the other hand, just frowned in confusion, not knowing who that was, and Shirozan, who saw that expression, knew that Alice was genuinely bewildered.

This, however, caused Shirozan to frown as well.

"Have you never been taught that it is customary to introduce yourself before asking others to do the same?"

But just when Shirozan was about to frown harder and inquire more about Alice's background, a voice was heard, causing everyone to turn toward Alex, who had a light smile on his face, his gaze fixed on Shirozan.

Shirozan, who had never been talked to like that, frowned harder as his gaze turned toward Alex, but the moment his eyes landed on Alex, he trembled, his hair standing to the end before he jumped back, moving meters away from Alex.

"W-Who the hell are you?!"

His voice raised as he glared at Alex with vigilance clear in his eyes, his gaze quivering violently as if he could see something others couldn't.

"Arghh…"

Theron, who was still on the ground, finally tried to stand up, groaning in pain as he clutched his head with a frown, but the moment he opened his eyes, he was greeted by a roar from his master.

"Stupid Theri! Who the hell did you bring along with you?!"

Shirozan roared at Theron, staring at Alex with full-on alertness, his hand slowly starting to get covered with pure white fur.

Theron, on the other hand, still a bit dizzy from having his head crushed by his master's hammer-like foot, replied to Shirozan's question in a low voice.

"He's my brother, Alex Matthew, and the demon lord."

"Fuck you, bastard! This is no demon lord; you brought the demon god into our empire!"

Shirozan yelled back at Theron's relaxed reply, causing the lion emperor to frown in confusion, turning to look at Alex; even Alice, Luna, Ann, and Noctura were a bit confused by the turn of events.

Who was this white-haired man? Why did he seem scared of Alex? And what did he mean by Alex being the demon god?

They had some idea of who that guy could be, but they weren't sure, so they just stared at Alex with a questioning gaze.

The guy in question, Alex, however, just kept smiling before he turned to look at Shirozan with the same smile.

"How about deactivating your eyes so we can have a calm conversation about all this?"

He knew perfectly well what was happening; he had seen everything about Shirozan with his all-seeing eyes, and he knew that this guy was a bit special.

He was one of the four mythical beasts, and all four of them had something special about them. Being fiercer than others wasn't special; it was just his trait.

His specialty was his vision—he could see things better than others, giving him a colossal advantage over others when it came to close combat.

His eyes had a set of skills, one of which was a precognitive sight.

This was a skill that let him see the moves of his opponent even before they reached him, making it almost impossible for someone to even harm him.

This was the skill he had used to predict Theron's punch's trajectory, making it possible for him to divert it.

Then there was this skill called origin gazing; this was one of the things that helped him identify people better, and once he got a look at someone, there was no way he would forget them.

Shirozon could see the origin of any being—the beginning of their existence.

This was why, the moment he looked at Alex, all he saw was a giant ball of swirling, multicolored mass, seemingly devouring anything.

The thing that shocked him most was the fact that the moment he stared at that shadow, he felt like he was about to get devoured by it.

Just gazing alone was enough to have his existence; what about the being itself?

That was the reason why he had jumped away the moment he broke free of the view.

He was scared—for the first time in his life, the mythical white tiger was scared.

'He saw my past?'

Alex, on the other hand, questioned Sophia; a hint of interest could be perceived in his voice.

He had gone past the phase where he would have some kind of existential crisis or he would question the purpose of his rebirth; he was now happy with the life he had and he was satisfied with his condition.

His past was nothing but a thing that made him curious now, so he asked Sophia, he seemed to know much about his past.

[No, he saw your origin—how you came to existence.]

Sophia's reply was instantaneous, as if she had expected him to ask that question, but her reply, instead of satiating Alex's curiosity, just fired it up.

His origin? Who he was? Did he want to know that? Fuck yes, he did.

Now, what he knew about his origin was a thing to wonder, as even Sophia had never been able to look past a certain point.

It was still a question as to how Shirozan, a being not very high in the cosmic power scale, could see Alex's origin.
