CHAPTER 384 - Shirozan.
The Ferox Empire—an empire with the second largest surface area, only second to the demon empire.
This was where all demi-human species lived along with some complete beasts.
This used to be a neutral empire, with no part in the war between demons and humans—that was until yesterday.
Yesterday, the Ferox Empire announced itself joining hands with the demon empire, causing the atmosphere in the human empire, which was already tense after the last incident, where they lost two of their heroes, Grim.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Before, demons used to attack from one side, as they had their borders touching, but now that they were in an alliance with the Ferox Empire, they could attack the humans from the Ferox Empire as well, since the White Tiger Empire was also right next to the human empire, just opposite to the demon empire.
The humans were now stuck with nowhere to run to.
But they were not the only ones who saw this development as a bad thing; the Dragon Empire and the Black Tortoise Empire were the same.
For the Melanochelys Empire, these turns of events weren't good.
"They might want to add us to their alliance as well."
This was what the higher-ups of the Melanochelys Empire thought, and just to be clear, the peace-loving races abhorred almost all of the demons.
Why 'almost'?
Well, no matter which race it was, be it from the elven race of dryads, almost every woman loved the demon lord—that was just how crazy Alex's fan following was.
Now back to the topic at hand, the Melanochelys Empire didn't want to get involved in this matter anymore, and whatever little help they were sending the human empire's way was now stopped.
They didn't want to be implicated by the demon empire, not now when they had another empire backing them up.
They just wanted to stay out of the conflict now and stay hidden like they have always been.
Their involvement would only bring them harm after all.
This pushed the human empire deeper into despair, but no one really cared about them now.
The Dragon Empire, Drakonis, however, was different from the Melanochelys Empire; they were a stronger and more arrogant bunch, yet this news, in particular, didn't fit well with them.
The Golden Dragon Antares Blaze in particular didn't like this, especially with his ears being filled by a guy with dull blonde hair and blue eyes.
"That Alex is not someone you should underestimate, your highness."
This was what that guy would continuously tell the Golden Dragon, and for some reason, Antares didn't wave it off; it was as if he was taking that guy's words seriously.
Antares had been observing the guy for a while, and he knew that the guy knew way more than he let on, so now he wanted to get to know more about this guy.
"It seems the time has come for another empire to fall..."
Those were the final words of Antares the Golden Dragon before he flew off somewhere.
The Phoenix Empire, Phoenixia, wasn't unaware of the situation, but just like the empire of Ferox, Phoenixia had always stayed neutral, so it didn't really feel any problem with this.
As for the fact that they might get asked to join the alliance, they would be more than willing to do it; after all, doing that would at least get them the protection of five mythical 3-ranked beings.
With their ancestor not getting a body anytime soon, it was better for them to just join hands with the demon empire.
They were already being targeted by the dragon empire, as some dragons would come there for hunts, so they didn't really fear getting their relationship with the dragons destroyed—they were never friends anyway.
Deep within the Phoenixia, in a certain chamber that was hidden in the deepest part of the empire, only known to a few, there were a pair of worried eyes gazing here and there.
'Why did he do this?'
'Antares won't like this, and I might lose my chance of getting a body even before I could think deeply about it!'
It was the original Phoenix, Emberlyn Ashborn, and right now, she was worried that Alex might die at the Antares's hands, forgetting the fact that there were four demon generals around him.
It wasn't her fault though; it was just that whenever something related to Antares came up, her sharp mind turned a bit dumb.
But all she could do was keep worrying about it, as she knew that no matter what she did, she couldn't interfere in any of that.
Her empire wasn't strong enough to take part in such matters.
The root of all these events, Alex and Theron, on the other hand, were in the Ferox Empire, moving toward a certain area where the strongest being of the empire lives.
Unlike what the world knew, they didn't just enter an alliance; they were now brothers—they were family, something much bigger than an alliance.
But they haven't announced that to the world yet.
Theron, unlike his mild formal attitude when he first met Alex, was full-on casual right now.
"Why do you want to meet him, though?"
He questioned without stopping his steps, his hands in the pockets of his loose pants, he didn't have a problem with what they were doing; he was just curious.
"No reason; I was just curious about the looks of one of the four mythical beasts in the world."
Alex, just like Theron, replied with a casual shrug of his shoulders.
"What about them?"
Theron nodded his head before he gestured at Alice, Ann, Luna, and Noctura following Alex.
"I thought that if there was a chance, why not let them meet with the renowned figure as well?"
Alex, in reply, just smiled at the girls, causing them to do the same.
This could be said to be their first trip together, and although it was not much of a trip since Alex just teleported them here, they were still together, and they were enjoying whatever time they could spend together. Enjoy new adventures at empire
Theron, who saw the silent interaction between Alex and his women, couldn't help but smile.
"Don't forget that you have to meet my harem as well."
With those words, he increased his speed, wanting to get this all done as quickly as possible so that he could spend some lovely time with his women as well.
They were moving toward a secluded corner of the Ferox Empire. A place where the guardian beast of the Ferox Empire, Shirozan—just Shirozan with no surname—lived.
He was said to come out of that area only when there was a need for another emperor to rise.
He would come back to the empire to train a new batch of emperor candidates, and whoever seemed most suitable to become the next emperor would have to challenge the old emperor to a duel.
These duels were not anything serious and just a small way of checking whether the next emperor was stronger than the last or not.
One needs to keep getting better, right?
So, it was just a way of making sure that they were getting better.
If the emperor candidate were to win, then it was all good, but if he were to lose, then the last emperor would continue his rule until another such person is trained by the white tiger Shirozan.
Shirozan, just like he used to do every day, was sleeping soundly, not expecting any visitors. He was in his human form as this took less space, and although it took some mana to keep it maintained, the comfort he got made up for it.
He had white hair flowing down his waist, seemingly tied in a low ponytail.
His body, unlike one would expect, wasn't actually large and bulky; he was slim, his body mass lower than Alex's, who looks small in front of Theron, the Lion Emperor.
His skin tone was pale white; it almost seemed like he was sick, but he wasn't.
His thin and soft hands carried power enough to wipe the whole capital city with a punch, and although he looked harmless and gentle, he was actually a wild and unrestrained person.
Right now, he was lying on a large, king-sized bed that didn't seem to match the surroundings of the room, as the place he lived in was nothing but a hut made of wood and some concrete.
He was a tiger, and no matter how majestic he was, him being a big cat was not something he could erase, so just like any cat, he liked sleeping, and for that, all he needed was a comfy bed and some natural air; with that, he could sleep for years.
It was then that suddenly, Shirozan's eyes snapped open, sensing some intruders in his area, but as soon as he realized that one of them was Theron, he relaxed.
The next moment, however, he frowned as if he had seen something that shouldn't be possible.
He, with a lot of effort—as he didn't want to get up—jumped down the bed, and in a second, he was gone from the hut.
What do you think?
