Lin Shen intended to pick the fruits but didn't reveal his intention.

He wanted to see if anyone else had a way to pick the fruits. If they couldn't think of a method, it wasn't too late for him to pick the fruits after they left.

Lin Shen watched from the side as several people attempted various methods, but the results were the same—none were effective.

Anything that passed over the surface of the water was sucked into it, pulled to the bottom of the lake by thin-stranded creatures.

Tian Xin even summoned a Crystal Base Level fish to see if it could swim across.

However, as soon as the fish touched the water, it was ensnared by the strands like a cocoon and quickly dragged down to the bottom of the lake, disappearing without a trace.

The Ximen Swordsman was the first to leave the lake in search of Attribute Fruit elsewhere.

No matter how abundant the Attribute Fruit here, they were useless if one couldn't get them. Standing guard was just a waste of time.

Tian Xin also didn't want to waste more time, but Lin Shen stopped him, saying, "Let's think of a solution. If we can just get across and pick a little, it would be more than what we'd find in dozens of hours."

Unfortunately, the Crystal Base Pet Capsules he shot, upon reaching the water's surface, fell into the water, and the pets were wrapped up by the transparent strands and pulled down to the bottom of the lake.

"What are you doing?" Tian Xin felt like Lin Shen had lost his mind, as what he was doing seemed completely pointless.

"I'm experimenting. Perhaps one of the pets' abilities can withstand the suction in the lake," Lin Shen explained.

After hearing his explanation, Tian Xin sneered. Chi Ba and Chi Xiong couldn't be bothered to watch him struggle any further. After saying goodbye to Tian Xin, they left to search for Attribute Fruit elsewhere.

The Celestial from the An Family researched for a while but couldn't come up with a solution and left reluctantly in the end.

"Stop wasting time." Tian Xin didn't want to waste more time either. He turned around, preparing to leave, no longer paying any attention to Lin Shen.

"Don't rush. It's too tiring for me to pick the fruits alone, and I would have to share with you later. That's too much trouble," Lin Shen said with a smile.

"If you can manage to get across and pick the fruits, they're all yours. I don't want any," Tian Xin retorted.

He didn't believe Lin Shen could make it to the fruits when so many others had failed. What could Lin Shen possibly do?

"Are you serious?" Lin Shen looked at Tian Xin with a peculiar expression.

"Of course, I'm serious. When I, Tian Xin, give my word, it's as solid as a rock, immovable by nine oxen," Tian Xin said proudly.

"Alright, then I'll give it a try. But if I do manage to pick some fruits, you better not regret it," Lin Shen laughed.

"Regret? Whoever regrets is a fool," Tian Xin said bluntly.

"Since that's the case, here I go." Lin Shen looked around and saw that the others had gone without a trace, so he didn't delay any further.

Seeing Lin Shen approach the edge of the lake, as if he was about to enter the water, Tian Xin said coldly, "If you get yourself trapped in the water, I won't save you."

"No need for your rescue." Lin Shen arrived at the lakeside but did not enter the water. Instead, he removed the half bag of Ascension Liquid from his waist.

Opening the lid, Lin Shen carefully sprinkled the Ascension Liquid from the bag into the lake, bit by bit.

"What are you doing?" Tian Xin frowned secretly, not knowing what trick Lin Shen was playing now, wondering why he was pouring Ascension Liquid into the lake.

"You'll find out soon," Lin Shen said as he continued to sprinkle Ascension Liquid into different spots.

When the Ascension Liquid had just been sprinkled, those filamentous creatures in the lake suddenly started moving, but before long, when Lin Shen sprinkled more Ascension Liquid into the lake, there was no movement at all.

Tian Xin, who had initially watched Lin Shen with skepticism, now spotted the scheme and exclaimed, widening his eyes, "That's the Luminescent Beast's Ascension Liquid, could it be that it contains the same sleep-inducing effects?"

"It seems so." Lin Shen scattered almost half the bag of Ascension Liquid in several tries, and upon seeing that there was no longer any movement in the lake, he released a pet to test the waters.

The pet plunged into the water, swimming hither and thither without being bothered by the filamentous creatures.

"It worked," Lin Shen said, stowing away the water bag.

"You had this method and didn't say earlier…" Tian Xin began, and then he too sent down a large fish-like pet into the water. He stood on top of the giant fish and sped toward the center of the lake.

Tian Xin charged toward the lake's center, boasting along the way, "I said before, whoever picks the fruit gets to keep it, I never said I wouldn't pick any myself."

Lin Shen smiled without saying a word. After retracting his pet, he leaped up and landed on the surface of the lake, skimming across the waters.

Tian Xin, fixated on the path ahead, didn't notice Lin Shen behind him; his giant fish pet was much faster than Lin Shen's water-skimming technique and was swiftly nearing the Sword Orchid.

Suddenly, strands of filament stretched out of the water, entwining around the giant fish and dragging it down below the surface.

"The sleep effect failed!" Tian Xin exclaimed in horror, as his feet nearly touched the water, with the eager filaments already breaking the surface to wrap around his legs.

Tian Xin hastily leaped upward, but unfortunately, he didn't ascend high enough and was pulled down by a force toward the water.

The filaments that had reached out of the water only extended a little more than a foot before they began to dissolve, evidently unable to survive outside the lake.

Tian Xin drew the Archangel's Sword and began chopping wildly at the water below, managing to sever some of the filamentous creatures.

However, there were simply too many creatures in the water. Once he fell in, a mass of filaments swarmed him from all around, overwhelming Tian Xin. He was bound tightly within moments, unable to move, and his Archangel's Sword became motionless in his hand.

"It's over!" Tian Xin felt his heart turn ice-cold, somewhat regretting that he didn't let Lin Shen go first to bear the brunt while he could have followed to scoop up the advantage afterward.

But it was too late for regrets. Just when Tian Xin thought he was a goner, he suddenly felt that the filaments binding him seemed to lose their strength. He vigorously struggled free from the filaments, finding it surprisingly easy this time.

Emerging above the water's surface, he saw Lin Shen walking on the water while scattering Ascension Liquid.

The reason the filaments had lost their vigor was that the Ascension Liquid Lin Shen had scattered was taking effect, putting them to sleep.

"Haste won't bring success; you have to take it slow," Lin Shen said as he strode past Tian Xin and rushed into the Sword Orchid Zone.

"How can he walk on water?" Tian Xin stood agape, instinctively batting his wings to try to fly, or at least to walk on the water like Lin Shen.

But no matter how hard he tried, once his body left the surface of the water, he would be yanked back down by a sudden force, making it impossible to walk on the surface.

"Why can that guy do it?" Tian Xin's expression was complex, but he did not dare delay any longer, and swam with all his limbs toward the Sword Orchid Zone.
