Stuck as a Villain!

Chapter 151: Big brother is here!

Chapter 151: Big brother is here!

Keith Albeck has been in a dilemma for some time now.

There have been some improvements in his standings in the house. Now Keith has been delegated the work which he could call important for the Duchy.

He was still in the learning phase of a bureaucrat and his physical prowess to become a ruler is still lacking if compared to his older brother, but overall Keith has been reforming himself to become someone worthy in his mother's eyes.

The subject of his plight lies in the fact that this year he has to enroll in the Pristine Academy. If not for the accident then Keith would be in the second year in that academy but he was supposed to get admitted there at the age of sixteen.

Keith doesn't possess a childish mindset to mind the factor of his age and gets ashamed because of it. What bothered Keith was his progress in the Duchy and how well he was getting around the work field. And suddenly to leave it all to pursue his academic life.

'Indeed problematic...'

Keith has long accepted the fact that his mother doesn't prefer Keith as much as she does the eldest sibling which signifies that, unlike Seth who was offered the throne even after he finishes his silly hobby of exploration, Keith wouldn't be presented such generously as well.

Once Keith joins the school, his chances to inherit the throne would reduce exponentially.

All his hard work would go down the drain if he remains away from the Duchy for three years.

'No, I can't... I won't...but how do I convince Mother... ?'

Keith has come over various obstacles until now. After 'that' accident when he abandoned any hope of wielding a weapon again, it was his father who supported him and helped Keith once again strengthen his resolve to become the greatest.

However, what the blonde noble still cannot face was the cold glare the duchess bestows whenever something or someone goes against her will.

'However...I need to take my chance. Even Seth convinced her to let him go adventuring after graduation... '

Always bringing up the example of Seth to convince himself was something Keith needs to reflect upon. But not now.

[At the breakfast table]

Duchess Valarie has returned home after a week of holiday. Well, it was not purely a holiday since six days of the week she was with her cousin brother, and all the foreign aristocrats discussing the new policy Ranghaur has come up with.

The seventh day was fabulous since she got to see her beloved on stage being rewarded for the achievements he attained. Though it was a pity that wasn't chosen for the MVP, Valarie didn't hold a grudge against Salamanderr for that.

After all, it doesn't take a pitiful medal and a mere artifact as a reward to make Seth the brightest and the coolest student in all of the six academies. Valarie has already acknowledged her son and that's what matters.

"Mother...I want to tell you something."

"Hmm? What is it, Keith?" Valarie responded in a light-hearted tone, however, her mood was soon spoiled by what her second son followed.

"I don't want to join the Academy an-"

"Keith." She wasn't intimidating her son through her Soul(energy) but fortunately, her tone told Keith that it was better to stop talking.

Valarie didn't need to identify it but her other children have straightened their backs as well in fret.

She wasn't proud of how much fear she had instilled in them involuntarily, but sometimes it was better to be feared when her own child was proposing such an idiotic idea.

"Swallow those words before I do something which you won't like. Do you understand? "

Keith's eyes were trained forward, not daring to look at his mother as he spoke with his trembling voice, "Y-yes, I understand Mother. "

Feeling the warmth enveloping her hand, Valarie looked at her husband only to let her gaze soften a bit. That peculiar red eyes have always been a weakness for her.

"Calm down, alright? We both know why Keith doesn't want to enroll. "

"I am aware but it doesn't mean I have to agree with his decision. Keith doesn't know what great heights he could reach by studying in that academy. " Turning her gaze back at her son who still was frozen she raised her tone before continuing, "If he can't understand this simple fact then at least he should look up to his brother who has reached such heights where I brag about him being my son."

Valarie didn't bat an eye how Keith flinched upon being compared to Seth. If her son couldn't handle being compared then it's better if he follows what she's saying.

"Young master Seth is here. "

Suddenly Valarie's attendant informed them something which turned Valarie's mood upside down.

"Brother Seth is here?"

Surprinslgy the youngest of the family, Liliana was also happy about the news and was barely holding herself from jumping from the seat but it wasn't required since soon the figure of a handsome young man appeared walking inside the room with long strides and a frown marring his face.

Valarie already was aware of why Seth suddenly appeared in the mansion when his school continues from tomorrow but she wasn't worried about the reason for his vexation at all. Rather she was elated that despite being displeased with his mother, he actually came to meet her.

"Brother Seth!" Liliana wasn't able to hold herself as she jumped down from her seat and made her way toward Seth.

The eldest's expression relaxed a bit being approached by his cute baby sister before he crouched down and hugged Liliana lightly.

"How is my little sister doing?"

"Not good, brother. No one plays with me nowadays." After separating from the warming hug the little one complained with small tears already filling her big eyes.

"Lili is getting more dizzy these days, right? What comes first? Health or games?" Seth asked in a gentle tone. It was far better than the scolding Liliana receives from her sister but it was a rare occurrence for her to be doted by her brother which made Lilian even more emotional.

Encircling her frail arms around Seth's neck she began to sob as the little one replied, "B-*sniff* But...brother said it's fine for Lili to play from time to time..*sniff* won't Brother Seth stay with a little longer and play with me?"

By now, the agitation and the words Seth has prepared to charge his mother with, already evaporated from the overloaded cuteness.

However, Seth still needs to talk to the Duchess. After all, there were various things at stake.

After smiling at the little girl, Seth picked her up as the girl happily remained coiled around her brother before the eldest spoke to his mother.

"I need to talk to you "

Valarie, who had a happy smile upon witnessing the heartwarming scene replied in a honey-dipped tone, "Anytime dear~"
