Chapter 364 The Mo Clan meet Zimo
The Mo clansmen stood in the corner, waiting patiently for the leader of the store. Right now, they needed the Celestial Heavenly Store for their superior cultivation technique and wouldn't display their arrogance.
When the adventurers noticed the Mo clansmen standing quietly in the corner of the lobby, most were surprised but didn't approach them for discussion.
Still, some wise men among them could guess what their presence meant, and they couldn't wait to see how the store leader would handle the cunning Mo clan.
From the entrance, a young man dressed in a blue and black robe entered the lobby. Instantly, the room fell silent, and all the adventurers stood to pay their respects.
Zimo looked at the adventurers and nodded at them as he made his way to the upper floor. As for the Mo clansmen, he didn't even spare them a glance.
Mo Zhenya looked at Zimo with a furrowed brow, various thoughts flashing through her mind.
Her mission was to secure the superior cultivation technique, and she couldn't afford to fail.
She waited patiently for the young man behind the counter to announce their presence. She didn't have to wait long before a young man arrived to escort them to the second floor.
In a lavish room on the second floor, Zimo was brewing spirit tea when a light knock came at the door.
Creak!
The door was pushed open, and the young man brought the Mo clansmen inside.
When they entered, they were stunned by the lavish design. Every material in the room reeked of wealth.
Even though they came from a somewhat powerful clan, this display of wealth still left them bewildered.
Mo Zhenya looked at Zimo, who continued brewing his tea without raising his head, and at that moment, she knew her mission would not be easy.
The two clan elders also had solemn expressions on their faces.
Previously, with their clan's wit and cunning, they believed it would be easy to strike a deal with the newly established store.
But now they realized they were wrong.
This store was not as easy to deal with as it seemed.
The two elders looked at Mo Zhenya, waiting for her to begin the discussion, only for her to flash them a helpless smile.
They were the visitors, and they couldn't start the discussion without the store leader initiating it.
From the short silence, she understood Zimo was telling them their presence meant nothing to him.
Thus, they could only wait for him to speak to them.
Finally, Zimo finished brewing the spirit tea and took a light sip. Feeling the pure spiritual power wash down his throat, Zimo was invigorated and raised his head to look at the Mo clansmen.
"Are you representing the Mo clan or…" Zimo's voice trailed off, not completing his statement.
When Mo Zhenya and the elders heard Zimo, they were stunned, and all the words they'd prepared in their minds vanished into thin air.
Though shocked, Mo Zhenya didn't let it show on her face and responded with her best smile.
"Young Master, we represent an alliance of four clans."
"I see…" He took another slow sip, still not looking at them.
As for all the plans from the four-clan alliance, he didn't give them a second thought.
Setting down the teacup, he went to the window and stared in the direction of the Boiling Desert.
"Do you know how large the Boiling Desert is?" he asked.
Mo Zhenya was on the brink of going insane. She had always been prideful of her beauty and looks, having subdued many powerful men she had lost count of.
But now, in front of Zimo, she couldn't help but doubt her charm. From the beginning until now, Zimo had only glanced at her once, looking at her as if she were a commoner.
Irked by such obvious disdain, she still maintained her composure and responded.
"Young Master, no one can say exactly how large the Boiling Desert is, but I would guess it's three times bigger than the city."
"Can you guess how many rare ores might be hidden in such a desert?"
"Young Master, no one could tell how many rare ores are in the desert. But with my four-clan alliance, we could help you mine as many as possible."
"Can the alliance summon ten thousand men to mine the ores?" Zimo turned and looked at her with an expressionless face.
Before she could respond, he continued. "In my presence, don't bring anything related to the alliance up again, unless your clan doesn't want to obtain the superior technique."
His voice was firm, leaving no room for argument.
Mo Zhenya and the elders couldn't understand why Zimo wouldn't want to deal with the four clans, but they couldn't complain.
"Yes, Young Master," Mo Zhenya responded respectfully.
"Good." He nodded lightly and asked, "Can your clan construct a pagoda at the center of the four paths that lead to the various kingdoms?"
Gasp!
Mo Zhenya gasped, unable to hide her shock. Even the two elders were stunned, their eyes wide.
Why would he want them to build a pagoda at the crossroads outside the Boiling Desert?
Confused, the trio looked at each other, not understanding what was going on.
Seeing their stupefied expressions, Zimo wasn't surprised. "If you can't construct such a simple pagoda, why do you think I'll give you the superior technique?"
"Please, leave and only come back if you find a way to build the pagoda."
Shocked! Confused. Furious.
These were the emotions flashing across Mo Zhenya's face. She had come to bargain with the leader of the Celestial Heavenly Store, only to realize how unreasonable he was.
She was already annoyed by Zimo's disdainful attitude toward them, but now she wouldn't try to maintain the peaceful facade any longer.
To hell with collaboration.
"Young Master, do you want to go against my clan and the three other clans?" she threatened.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"If you want a peaceful stay in the city, I'd advise you to reconsider your decision."
Watching Mo Zhenya try to threaten him, Zimo couldn't help but chuckle inwardly. He stared at her without uttering a word.
Realizing her threat was useless, she left the room in irritation.
In the lobby, all the adventurers were filled with anticipation, eager to know Zimo's decision.
When they saw the furious expressions on Mo Zhenya and the elders' faces, all the adventurers looked at each other and smiled.
"I told you, the leader wouldn't give anyone the superior technique without joining the adventurer guild."
"Agreed. I knew her beauty would be useless against the leader."
Mo Zhenya almost stumbled when she heard the adventurers' disdainful words toward her and her clan, but she managed to recover.
She gazed at the various adventurers with killing intent. However, the adventurers weren't scared in the least.
Just then, five men emerged from the hidden door leading to the store's backyard.
"Old man, I made it! I'm now a cultivator!" a burly young man shouted in joy.
Instantly, everyone's attention shifted to the five men who had just become real cultivators.
"You see, those five have just become cultivators, and it's only a matter of time before we all become one," a thin adventurer said proudly to the Mo clansmen.
