This is the "goddess" the original body wanted to pursue?

Playing so wild?!

Alex helplessly rubbed his head, his mind filled with mixed feelings. For a moment, he wanted to say something, but he didn't even know where to start with the criticism.

'Forget it, this might actually be a good thing. At least I don't have to deal with the mess between the original body and the girl he was chasing.'

At this moment, Alex couldn't help but wonder: if the original body were still alive and saw this scene, what would he think? Probably nothing but utter despair.

The sounds from the room continued.

"Later... I still want to... dance. Today's my... birthday, take it easy."

"It's fine, we can switch to singing."

"But my throat's sore."

"Then how about playing the piano? That way you can sit down."

Outside the door, Alex licked his lips. He was starting to feel a bit awkward. His goal wasn't to eavesdrop on someone else's private business.

Just then, from the shadow around the corner of the hallway, Butcher's head slowly popped out. He glanced at Alex, a weird smile creeping onto his lips.

As soon as Alex realized Butcher had spotted him, he immediately stood up straight. Before Alex could make a move, he saw Butcher wave his hand, as if signaling him to come over.

After a brief pause, Alex didn't hesitate. His original goal had been to see what Butcher was up to, and now that his identity had changed, he didn't mind any surprises that might come his way.

He slowly walked up to Butcher, and instead of speaking first, Alex calmly met his gaze.

As Alex stared at Butcher, Butcher returned the gaze. Neither of them spoke immediately; both observed each other with a calculating look.

Finally, Butcher spoke first, his lips curling into a smile. "Tell me, you bastard, why are you following me?"

"Guess," Alex replied casually.

Butcher snorted, eyeing Alex's appearance with interest.

"Interesting. At first, I thought you were a federal agent, or some bodyguard hired by the family, but your pathetic tracking skills are hard to respect. And the most crucial thing is, you're not on the guest list."

"You know the guest list for this party?" Alex was a bit surprised.

"Of course," Butcher replied matter-of-factly. "There are only two people not on the guest list for this party. One is me, and the other is you. So I'm curious, who the hell are you, and how did you manage to sneak in?"

"You have your methods, and I have mine. I don't think it's something you need to worry about. After all, we have no conflict of interest," Alex said, crossing his arms.

"Ha, fair point. Just don't get in my way."

With that, Butcher glanced at Alex again, giving him a knowing smirk before continuing.

"By the way, want to see something interesting?"

"What's that?" Alex asked, intrigued.

Without answering, Butcher turned and walked to the corner of the hallway. He pulled out a phone from his jacket and handed it to Alex.

Seeing this, Alex stepped forward and took the phone from Butcher.

He looked down, and the next moment, three figures appeared on the screen. One person was sitting in a chair, while the other two were on the floor beside them.

"Oh shit."

As soon as Alex realized what was playing on the phone, he immediately wanted to look away. But soon, his gaze was fixed on the female protagonist in the video.

She was a blonde woman with a seductive face and a body like a goddess. And this person wasn't anyone else—she was Anya, the "goddess" from the original body's memories.

Alex froze for a moment before suddenly turning around to look toward the direction of the room.

"This isn't a recording, is it?"

"Live feed, mate," Butcher raised an eyebrow.

"Alright." Alex furrowed his brow as he handed the phone back. "I didn't expect you to have that kind of... kink."

At first, Alex had thought the video only showed Anya and her father engaging in something unspeakable. But now, it seemed there was an audience.

From everyone's expressions, the situation in the room looked intense, and it didn't seem like it was their first time doing this. Anya even had her makeup fully done.

It was hard to imagine the goddess that the original body could never approach in school would be like this in private. No wonder Alex didn't find any mention of Anya being in a relationship in the original body's memories. Now he understood why.

It was true—you never really know a person. What surprised him even more was how long this twisted relationship had been going on.

"Don't get me wrong, I'm not interested in that father-daughter family bonding," Butcher said nonchalantly.

He gave a slight smile and then pointed at the man sitting in the chair in the video.

"But do you know who he is?"

"No, who?" Alex glanced at the man. He was a fat guy with green-dyed hair, and just looking at him made Alex feel a bit nauseous.

"Vik Kaufman, a filthy 'supe' hybrid. You should know about those 'supes', right? This guy is one of them, but unlike the 'heroes' you might think of, this guy's a complete trash bag."

Butcher began explaining in detail, painting a vivid picture of the man in the video.

"His power makes people produce excessive hormones, and he can transmit bioelectric currents through touch. To put it simply, all he has to do is wiggle his fingers, and he can make you feel incredible. And that's why he's so popular with the rich assholes."

"..."

For some reason, this description of a 'supe's' power made Alex's mind involuntarily flash to scenes from 'Doom Patrol'.

He didn't expect that one day he'd actually witness such a ridiculous superpower in person. But in a way, it was kind of impressive.

Without changing his expression, Alex asked quietly, "So, you've got your eye on him?"

"Of course not. He's just a 'supe'. A disgusting one, but not worth my time or energy," Butcher sneered. Then he fiddled with his phone and pulled up another video.

This time, the screen showed a kitchen, with a number of staff and chefs bustling around, preparing for the upcoming party.

The phone's screen split, showing a live feed of the main hall, where Alex even spotted Emma taking selfies.

Just then, Butcher pointed to a middle-aged man with brown hair in the crowd and asked, "Do you remember this guy?"

Alex stared at him for a long moment before he managed to dredge up a vague memory from the original body's memories.

"He seems like a food critic? I remember him being on a lot of shows."

"A food critic? No, no, no," Butcher paused and then continued.

"He's a survivalist, named Lyle Chris. I've been keeping an eye on him for a while, gathering evidence on his crimes."

"A survivalist? What crime could he commit? Eating endangered animals?"

"Even worse."

At Alex's question, Butcher grinned.

"He ate a photographer."

"Wait... what??"
