Chapter 81

Chapter 81 - You Are on Your Period

After Ye Hao and Bai Hehua were rushed to the hospital, they underwent a battery of tests.

Once Ye Hao emerged from his examination, Zhang Lan threw herself into his embrace.

“I thought I'd never see you again,” Zhang Lan sobbed as she spoke.

Truth be told, it wasn't just Zhang Lan who felt this way; the entire class shared the sentiment.

When Ye Hao and Bai Hehua leapt together, no one believed Ye Hao would make it out alive.

Against all odds, both Ye Hao and Bai Hehua emerged unscathed.

“How could I die so easily?” Ye Hao gently soothed, patting Zhang Lan's back.

At that moment, Bai Hehua stepped out.

Seeing Zhang Lan clinging to Ye Hao stirred a touch of displeasure within her.

In Bai Hehua's darkest hour, Ye Hao had been there, fearless even as they jumped from the towering cliff. Meanwhile, the boys who had penned her love letters had taken no action.

Bai Hehua observed the unfolding scene, a flicker of bewilderment in her gaze.

Zhang Lan longed to remain in Ye Hao's arms, but the throbbing pain in her ankle intensified.

“Apply some painkiller to your ankle,” Ye Hao murmured gently.

“Okay, hold me,” Zhang Lan responded with a delicate tone.

The boys in the class sighed at the sight; Zhang Lan's affection for Ye Hao ran deep.

After Zhang Lan received medical attention, Ye Hao shouldered the responsibility of carrying her back to her dorm room.

The dormitory supervisor checked Zhang Lan's condition and permitted Ye Hao's entry into the female dormitory.

“Zhang Lan, there's nothing in your room I shouldn't see, is there?” Ye Hao joked as he carried her up the stairs.

“Yes,” Zhang Lan replied after a moment's thought, her certainty wavering.

But now, she had no opportunity to tidy up beforehand.

Ye Hao knocked on Zhang Lan's dorm room door.

A girl in pajamas, revealing part of her chest, answered the door.

Ye Hao caught sight of this immediately.

Instinctively, he averted his gaze.

As a man of honor, he couldn't possibly keep gazing at a girl's chest.

Nevertheless, Ye Hao couldn't resist sneaking a few more peeks.

Le De quickly realized something was amiss.

When she saw a boy standing before her, her face registered utter disbelief.

“Le De,” called Zhang Lan.

Le De turned her attention to Zhang Lan.

“Zhang Lan, what happened?”

“I twisted my ankle,” Zhang Lan replied.

“Is it bad?” Le De was completely focused on Zhang Lan.

With Ye Hao and Le De's assistance, Zhang Lan sat on her bed and admitted, “It's quite bad.”

“I should go now.” Ye Hao was eager to leave. Le De's dress strap was still undone, and Ye Hao found himself involuntarily stealing glances at her.

Zhang Lan opened her mouth to speak, but Ye Hao had already hurried off.

Zhang Lan paused, taken aback.

She quickly noticed something about Le De's attire.

“Le De, your chest is showing,” Zhang Lan said, pointing at Le De's chest and laughing.

Le De suddenly understood what had transpired and became enraged, “Ye Hao must have seen everything.”

“Don't worry. It's just a little bit.”

“If you don't stop laughing, I'll make Ye Hao take responsibility.”

That made Zhang Lan stop laughing.

“I'm just kidding,” Le De laughed, “My dream man is a legendary hero. One day, he'll arrive on a rainbow cloud to whisk me away.”

“You're quoting movie lines again. You watch too many movies.”

“But that's my aspiration!”

“There's something important I need to tell you.”

“What is it?”

“You've started your period,” Zhang Lan pointed out, indicating the bloodstained part of Le De's skirt.

After Ye Hao got back to Blossomfall Chateau, he called Leng Xue to request a half-month leave.

Leng Xue reluctantly agreed.

Ye Hao then retrieved the spirit stone and began his cultivation.

This was the first time Ye Hao used a spirit stone to enhance his cultivation, and the results far surpassed his expectations.

Ye Hao was confident that if he could keep up this pace, he would reach the first layer of Body Refining in just two days.

At seven in the evening, Tang Pianpian came home with some fruit. Seeing Ye Hao in the midst of his cultivation, she went into the kitchen and prepared several dishes.

As Tang Pianpian was finishing up the last dish, Ye Hao stood up.

Emerging from his room, Ye Hao was greeted by the tantalizing aroma of food. “I didn't expect you to be such a skilled cook,” he remarked.

“Of course,” Tang Pianpian replied, pouring a spoonful of oil into the pot. With a deft flick of her wrist, she stirred, and a fierce flame burst to life in the pot.

“You're really impressive,” Ye Hao said, his eyes sparkling with admiration.

“Go on, praise me,” Tang Pianpian urged, locking eyes with Ye Hao.

“Chef Tang,” Ye Hao said with a smile.

“That's a bit half-hearted,” Tang Pianpian chided as she transferred the dish onto a plate. “For that, you're on rice duty.”

Tang Pianpian's cooking was exceptional.

Ye Hao had always held Guo Xiu's culinary skills in high regard, but Tang Pianpian's abilities made Guo Xiu's seem somewhat inferior by comparison.

“Pianpian, who taught you to cook?”

“My grandfather.”

“He must have been quite the chef.”

“He was. In his youth, he worked as a chef in the presidential palace.” Tang Pianpian's eyes clouded with sadness as she spoke. “But because of that, during the ten-year turmoil, his leg was brutally broken.”

Ye Hao sighed deeply.

It was a time no Ubliasian wished to remember, a time when their morals and cultural heritage were shattered.

After a pause, Tang Pianpian asked, “Was it you who saved Bai Hehua today?”

“Yes.”

“So you really can fly?”

“I can.”

“You'll need to be more cautious when you take action,” Tang Pianpian warned. “I'm concerned that you might draw unwanted attention from those in power.”

Ye Hao was about to respond when he sensed someone approaching. “You're right, someone is already looking for me.”

Tang Pianpian's expression turned serious.

“Don't worry,” Ye Hao reassured her softly.

Just then, there was a knock at the door.

Ye Hao rose and opened it to find a man in a black military uniform who saluted and inquired, “Are you Ye Hao?”

“Yes,” Ye Hao confirmed with a nod.

“Would it be convenient for you to come with us now?”

“Let's go,” Ye Hao replied, his demeanor composed. He knew such a confrontation was inevitable.

Tang Pianpian hurried over.

Ye Hao caught Tang Pianpian's eye and reassured her with a look that he was alright.

“I'll return shortly,” Ye Hao whispered.

Yet, Tang Pianpian continued to grasp Ye Hao's hand, unwilling to release it.

The man dressed in the black military uniform observed the exchange and spoke up, “We simply wish to extend an invitation for him to join our organization. Rest assured, we bear him no malice.”

“Are you certain?”

“Absolutely.”

After a brief pause, Tang Pianpian released Ye Hao's hand. “Make sure you stay in touch,” she reminded him.
