Chapter 889: Chapter 878: Ending. Part 3
“Alright, thank Dylan Collins and his wife for me – convey my gratitude to them,” Richelle said.
Richelle thought of the couple, who had gone through hardships together and never left each other’s side, and secretly sighed.
“Okay, I’ve received your message. And I’ll also pass on the word for Dylan to focus on recovering first, instead of rushing out of the hospital to look for a job.”
Richelle had already told Dylan this in person the day before.
However, Dylan was a highly responsible man. It might be difficult to convince him to lie in bed for a few more months to recover from his injuries.
Moreover, the actual situation of the Collins family might not allow for that either.
Richelle had been thinking of a way to help the couple somehow.
Overt charity had already been clearly rejected by Dylan’s wife.
Although the couple was poor, they had their dignity.
“Yvonne just made a deal with the family of another patient in the same room. She’ll help take care of them during their hospital stay, for 300 yuan a day.”
Yvonne was Dylan’s wife.
“That’s good. She can take care of Dylan as well as earning some money to support the family.”
“Yes, I talked to the dean in your name, asking him to take good care of the couple.”
Richelle didn’t blame him, “That’s great – you’ve done me a huge favor!”
Knowing that Yvonne had found temporary work and wouldn’t have to neglect taking care of Dylan, Richelle felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from her chest.
…
In the afternoon, Theo calculated the time and once again went to the police department with two lawyers as company.
The same officer greeted him and handed him the forms to fill out.
“Fill out the forms first, and then I’ll take you to see him.”
Theo’s heart sank, and he hastily asked,
“Officer, is my father okay now? Can’t he come home at this point?”
The officer glanced at him, “Mr. Dunn, do you have no idea whether your father is in trouble or not?”
Gauging from the officer’s words, it was evident that some suspicions about Jayden Dunn had been established.
“Hurry up and fill out the forms so that you can go in and talk to him.”
Theo filled out the forms with trembling hands, and then the officer, along with him and the lawyers, entered the visiting room.
After Theo and the lawyers had sat down and waited for a while, another officer led Jayden Dunn out, handcuffed.
Theo immediately got up, “Dad, are you alright?”
Jayden looked exhausted, but his face and hands seemed to be in good shape, and the way he walked seemed normal.
“I’m fine, don’t worry.”
As Jayden sat down, Theo was about to introduce the lawyers to him when Jayden took the initiative to smile at the two of them, “As expected, you two are the ones who were called upon.”
Theo didn’t pay attention to these details and simply asked,
“Dad, is it about Uncle Zachary and Aunt’s case?”
Jayden nodded, “Yes, I’ve admitted to everything. Don’t waste any more time on me. Focus on the Dunn Group instead.”
Theo became anxious.
“Dad, how could you do something like this? It was a car accident; how is it your responsibility?”
Back then, the accident that took the lives of the young Dunn head, Zachary, and his wife during their time abroad had caused a sensation in the Federation.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
At that time, Theo was only a few years old, so he, just like the public, believed that his uncle and aunt had died in a car accident.
Of course, as he grew older and spent more time with his parents, some hints and clues made him suspect something else.
However, as the main beneficiary of the plot, he chose to ignore the possible truth and continued deceiving himself, insisting that the car accident was the real story.
Jayden didn’t argue with him but simply waved his hand at the two lawyers.
“I don’t need legal defense anymore. You two can leave. Let me talk to Theo for a while.”
The two lawyers hesitated as they looked at Theo. Knowing his father’s stubbornness, Theo nodded at the lawyers.
“You guys wait outside for me.”
After the lawyers left, Theo was about to speak when Jayden began,
“Theo, listen to your father. Run the Dunn Group well and take good care of your mother and sister. Don’t waste time and energy here – it’s useless.”
Theo lowered his voice and growled, “Dad, have you ever thought that if something happens to you, the Dunn Group might not be able to survive?”
His words were true, and Jayden had to sigh.
“If that’s the case, then it’s fate.”
Theo leaned closer and whispered to Jayden,
“Dad, have they found any crucial evidence? If not, there’s still hope. These two lawyers are very powerful. Once, they managed to change a death sentence to an acquittal during a second trial.”
What do you think?
