The Widow "Misses" Her Villainous Late Husband

Chapter 134

Chapter 134

————

As soon as Yu Guohui and Mrs. Yu left, Fu Sinian asked casually, “What did you talk about with your mother that made you so happy?”

“We didn’t talk about anything important, just some things at home.” However, Yu Duo thought of what her mother had just told her and, and a moment of contemplation she asked Fu Sinian, “Can I get a cat?”

“A cat?” Fu Sinian frowned and looked reluctant. But, in the end, Yu Duo was pregnant and he didn’t quite have the heart to deny her.

“Can’t I?”

Fu Sinian could only nod helplessly when facing Yu Duo’s expectant eyes.

Not long after that, Yu Duo received the cat that Fu Sinian had asked Ah Chi to deliver.

It was a small and beautiful three-month-old kitten, with snowy-white fur, pretty blue eyes, and a small milky voice. Yu Duo liked it very much and immediately held it in her arms, where she found that it was also very well behaved on top of being beautiful. It just lay motionlessly in her arms and let her pat it as she liked.

“Sister-in-law, disregarding that kittens are playful and don’t like to be held, you really shouldn’t hold it all the time because it’s not good for the child.”

Yu Duo looked up and smiled brightly before saying, “En, I understand. Thank you for bringing her to me.”

“Then will you give it a name?”

Yu Duo stroked the kitten’s soft fur and smiled strangely, “Let’s wait until your Big Brother comes back.”

When Fu Sinian came back later that evening and saw Yu Duo and Aunt Lian frolicking around the cat, he couldn’t help but say, “Auntie Lian, Duoduo is pregnant now and our family has added a cat so, in the future, you will have to pay more attention to hygiene.”

Aunt Lian actually liked the cat very much, so she immediately smiled and said, “Of course, you don’t have to worry sir.”

Fu Sinian walked over and gently brushed his hand across his fur before retracting his hand unhappily. Somehow he couldn’t shake the feeling that the little beast was dirty, and his brows were deeply furrowed.

However, Yu Duo happily hugged the little kitten and played with her small pink paws for a moment, before turning to Fu Sinian with a smile and saying, “Sinian, why don’t you give her a name?”

“You name her.”

“I should name her? Remember, you were the one who asked me to name her, okay?” Yu Duo flashed a cunning smile and, after a moment of thought, said, “We can just call her Si Si.”

“Si Si?”

“If you don’t like the name, maybe you will get used to it after a year or two?”

“Si Si...? ” Fu Sinian finally understood she was making a joke and glanced at Yu Duo.

“I was just kidding,” Yu Duo thought carefully again before saying. “Then let’s call her Duoduo, isn’t that better?”

Duoduo, Duoduo*.

Very similar.

Anyway, it was just a name for a kitten, so Fu Sinian didn’t think much of it and he just nodded along.

Yu Duo was three months pregnant but, until now, her belly still wasn’t very big and it was still fairly easy for her to move around but, for now, all she could do was stay home and look after the fetus. But Fu Sinian was always at work, and Aunt Lian was often busy, so Duoduo’s arrival was actually very welcome, because she helped to drive away some of the loneliness and boredom.

“Duoduo, this way.” Yu Duo spent a lot of time these days playing with the cat on the villa’s front lawn with some cat toys.

Yu Duo soon felt that Duoduo was different from ordinary cats. Although she was cat-like enough when she was quietly laying down to sleep, that would change whenever a human was nearby. Whenever the kitten spotted someone she would always immediately sit up and let out a milky ‘Meow’ in greeting. It was as if the heavens had made a mistake by birthing her as a kitten, because with her behavior she was clearly more suited to be a puppy.

“Madam, you’ve already been playing for a while. I’ll take Duoduo inside for a bath, okay? Why don’t you go back and get some rest?” Ever since the kitten had arrived Aunt Lian had been paying special attention to Duoduo’s hygiene. It was almost to the point that she wanted to give the kitten three baths a day, even though Yu Duo had repeatedly stressed that it wasn’t necessary to be so serious about keeping her clean.

Yu Duo looked up at the sky, which had darkened a bit before she knew it, nodded and then handed Duoduo over to Aunt Lian, where the kitten immediately nestled docilely in the other woman’s arms.

Yu Duo secretly couldn’t help but be impressed at how well behaved this kitten was.

“Auntie Lian, please help me pack a bag later tonight. I want to go home and visit my parents tomorrow. However, my mother is allergic to animal hair, and I think that Sinian likes Duoduo okay, so I won’t take her with me.”

Aunt Lian wondered why Yu Duo suddenly wanted to go home, but she didn’t ask about it, she just said, “Alright, don’t worry, I’ll handle this matter.”

Before she went to bed that night, Yu Duo went and told Fu Sinian about her plan to go home tomorrow. She didn’t give him an explanation, just telling him that she missed home and felt like going back for a few days.

Fu Sinian didn’t object, he just told her to call him whenever she wanted to come back and he would come to pick her up. Thus, Yu Duo returned to the Yu residence the very next day with the plan to stay there for a few days.

In fact, Fu Sinian was still very busy with his work, however, because he was thinking of Yu Duo, he hadn’t been working overtime recently and had instead been making time to come home earlier by bringing his work home with him. But now that Yu Duo wasn’t at home anymore, he returned to his usual routine of leaving very early and returning very late.

After all, he still had a pile of things to do at the company, and the important cooperation project in the south of the city still hadn’t been secured, so Fu Sinian was so busy that his free time could be calculated in minutes. That day, when he finally tiredly left the company to head home, it was already the dead of the night. Of course, he had already called Aunt Lian and told her not to wait for him, so when he returned home the house was dark and quiet, and he just directly headed upstairs.

After working all day and into the night, he was physically and mentally exhausted. His only desire was to take a bath before getting a few hours of sleep so that he would have the energy to deal with the mountain of work that would inevitably be waiting for him when he woke up.

But, as soon as he opened the bedroom door, he heard a faint milky cry and the scratching sound of paws on hardwood from the otherwise silent room. Fu Sinian looked down and saw it was the kitten, who had quickly jumped down from the bedroom desk and then gracefully approached him before stopping at his feet.

During the recent period, the kitten had been well taken care of by Yu Duo and Aunt Lian, so she had grown a bit bigger and her eyes somehow seemed larger and more expressive. She looked up at Fu Sinian with her big eyes and meowed at him twice, her small voice reverberating clearly in the quiet room.

Fu Sinian squatted down and picked Duoduo up before stroking her silky fur, “Were you waiting for me?” He murmured.

Duoduo in his arms let out another: “Meow.”

Fu Sinian smiled faintly, somehow reminded of Yu Duo. “Your master has raised you well. I’ll take you out to pick her up in a couple more days, okay?”

“Meow meow...”

In fact, this was also Fu Sinian’s first time owning a pet, and he felt happy to see the little kitten being so obedient.

After a moment, he set the kitten in her small cat bed and then left to take his bath alone. However, as soon as he stepped out of the bathroom, he saw Duoduo, who he had clearly put into the cat bed just now, was now sleeping on the big master bed instead, her snow-white body curled into a little ball.

After a moment of contemplation, Fu Sinian decided not to return her to the cat bed and to instead just let her just keep sleeping. He lifted the quilt and lay down himself, but when he did that, the kitten woke up and came over to rub herself against him.

Fu Sinian looked down at the small kitten rubbing herself against him and laughed helplessly. “Why are you so similar to your master...”

After that remark subconsciously slipped out, Fu Sinian felt a bit stunned by his own thought. He narrowed his eyes and looked down at the cat that was rubbing against him and fell silent for a long time.
