The Moon Thief

Chapter 130: The Kawtil Race

Chapter 130: The Kawtil Race

Somewhere in the northwest of the Black Scorpion Desert...

In a large, dark room, a tall, well-built figure stood before him watching the vast desert from a globe.

"Teshki! Come here!" The figure said excitedly.

"What's going on?" Another figure, quite similar to the figure, emerged from the work of darkness.

The figure pointed to the globe in front of him, "There's someone walking around in the desert! And if I'm not mistaken, he's a human."

"How can that be? Humans left this plane long ago."

"Let's go and meet him right away." The image in the sphere disappeared as the figure waved his hand.

Heinald was walking through the vast desert. For a Level 2 Ainsar like him, the heat of the desert was of course not a major factor, but the wound on his stomach prevented him from making a fast journey.

Even though he had a few effective healing potions, he didn't want to consume them. After all, his injury was not a serious one; he didn't want to consume a healing potion and make his body immune to it.

He preferred to save these potions for more emergencies. If he remained in such a state, since his body did not develop immunity, the healing potion he consumed could play a vital role for him.

"Hmm?" As Heinald was walking through the desert, he saw a kind of dark blur coming from far away. The fact that this blur could be seen clearly even from far away showed that it was quite large.

After a few minutes, it became clear what that shadow was.

It was a sand tornado!

"No! This is really bad timing!" Heinald grit his teeth.

He did n't want to move fast because of his injury. However, the forward speed of this sand tornado was much faster than anything he had seen before. Moreover, its size and strength were also abnormal.

Heinald immediately turned around and grit his teeth and started running. If the situation worsened, he decided to consume a healing potion.

"Wait!"

Heinald heard a voice echoing across a large field. He immediately turned around and began to observe the surroundings, but saw nothing.

"I'm in the tornado, you don't have to worry." The voice echoing in the desert was heard again.

"The language of Ainsar?" Heinald frowned, he shouted "Who are you?"

"I don't intend to hurt you. I just want to talk to you."

As the sand tornado came close, it stopped, and its intensity began to wane.

When the sand tornado disappeared completely, a tall being appeared.

His complexion was pale white and he had a large bald head. There were only three small holes on the side of his nose. Its ears were larger than a human's, and the tips were pointed. He had two eyes very similar to human ones, but his pupils were golden yellow. Although its arm and leg structure resembled a human, this figure was not a human. He was wearing a long white robe. Two long swords hung from his belt.

Heinald realized that the energy emanating from this being was almost as strong as his own. He did not sense any killing intent or danger from this presence in front of him.

"You...you are truly a human! A human Ainsar!" The tall being began to speak excitedly.

Heinald was eyeing him curiously and puzzled. Whatever this entity was, it must have been a different race living on this plane.

After a short silence, He asked, "What nationality are you?"

"Oh! Forgive my rudeness, I forgot to introduce myself because I was excited. I'm a Kawtil. My family and friends call me Towsak."

Heinald had never heard of or seen the Kawtil race before. He was completely unaware of their existence. However, he was apparently familiar with the human race and the Ainsars. Actually, after meeting the green dwarves, it didn't really surprise him.

"My name is Heinald. I come from the World of Ainsar, it's good to know you, Towsak!" Heinald did not want to be disrespectful to the being before him and responded with kindness.

Towsak said, "Please let us have you as our guest!"

"Hmm? Where?"

"We have to go to the northwest of the desert. Our city is there, and I'm sure the other council members will want to meet you."

Towsak was holding a white orb in his hand. As the white sphere began to glow, a sand whirlwind formed around them and began to rush along with them.

"Is this a formation?" Heinald shouted at the loud wind noise around.

"Yes, it protects us against external dangers. This formation was given to us by our ancient comrade, the Great Ainsar Grildar." Towsak replied.

"The Great Ainsar Grildar?" Heinald repeated.

"Yes! Of course, he left this plane long before our generation. According to the records we have, he was a Level 4 Ainsar." Towsak let out a light sigh.

"A Level 4 Ainsar" Heinald had only once had a chance to see such an existence before. That person was, of course, the headmaster of Ruthas Academy.

As far as he knew, although Level 4 Ainsars were considered a great power in Ancient times, they were much more numerous back then.

In the present Ainsar World, their number was not more than a finger on a hand.

"Are you aware of the dwarves in Eblas Swamp?" Heinald asked.

"We don't have much contact with those parties. But yes, we are aware of their existence." Towsak nodded.

Heinald said, "I learned a few things about the Ulltemols from them. It was said that they considered themselves the heirs of the Ancient Ainsars."

Towsak's expression turned ugly when the subject of "Ulltemol" was brought up. It was obvious that his race did not like Ulltemols.

"They're just exaggerating because they have a few legacies from them" Towsak lightly shook his head and continued, "The Ainsars who ruled on this plane in ancient times left various legacies to the races here. It is said more races had lived in this realm in ancient times, but over time some races became extinct."

"You don't seem to like them very much" Heinald glanced at him from the corner of his eye.

"We have lived peacefully in the depths of this desert for thousands of years. But when the Ulltemols discovered us, they wanted to dominate us and seize our legacy. But of course they failed to do so, they never dared to attack us directly, thanks to this formation left to us by the Great Ainsar Grildar."

Towsak started giving him various information.

"Don't you care about their legacy?" Heinald asked.

"We'll talk about that again later. If the council sees fit, they will share some important information with you." Towsak said.

"For what?"

"To get you on our side, of course." Towsak laughed.

They traveled quite quickly for hours in the sand tornado. Heinald couldn't help but admire this formation. This tornado could even deal with a Level 3 Ainsar. Moreover, since they had entrusted him with giving control of such a formation, he realized that he was an important figure among his race.

They were on a dune when the sand tornado broke up. Below the dune was a large city, though not as large as in the Ainsar World.

There was not much difference between the architectures, it could even be said that they were quite similar.

In the middle of the city was a very large and tall tower, which he had not even seen in the Ainsar World. Around this tower were many buildings of small and large sizes.

"What's that thing coming!?" Heinald saw a gigantic creature coming towards them. It looked like an eagle, but was slightly different. Its tail was quite long and burning. Its wings looked as if they were plated with gold and steel. It had four legs.

"It's a Rafan! It'll take us to the top of the tower!" Towsak answered.

Heinald knew immediately that it was a Magical Beast. When it landed next to them, he realized that this creature had a power equal to a Level 1 Ainsar.

"They must have got him under control with a technique similar to the one I got from that Hamra guy." Heinald muttered to himself.

Another Kawtil descended on Rafan. Although her appearance was quite similar to Towsak, she had long black hair and a more slender body. It was quite obvious that she was a female.

"Teshki! Come and meet Heinald." Towsak pointed at him.

"I'm Teshki!" The female Kawtil greeted him with a strange gesture.

Heinald gave a nod.

This female Kawtil named Teshki also looked as mighty as a Level 2 Ainsar.

"Teshki is also a member of the council like me and takes part in the administration." Towsak introduced him.

"How many council members are with you?" Heinald asked.

"There are five council members in total." Towsak replied and pointed ahead, "Let's go! Meet the other members too, I'm sure they're pretty excited to have the honor of meeting you too."

Heinald chuckled lightly.

The Kawtil Race had not seemed like a dangerous race to him, but he would still be vigilant. If he trusted them right away, bad things could happen to him.

While traveling towards the tower, he also began planning an escape route for himself in case things went wrong.
