The Moon Thief

Chapter 128: Vansha

Chapter 128: Vansha

Heinald quickly jumped back and began to observe the statue carefully. When the exterior of the statue was completely disintegrated, a skeleton about three meters tall emerged. This skeleton had a black orb in the middle of its chest. The energy waves emanating from this skeleton were greatly suppressing his energy waves.

At worst, the energy waves emanating from this skeleton were equal to the energy waves emitted by a mid-phase Level 2 Ainsar.

When Heinald looked at the black orb on the skeleton's chest, he felt a great unease arising in his soul. He clearly knew why; this skeleton was actually a Vansha!

Vansha was a kind of cursed being. Vanshas would collect and consume souls trapped by various curses in a particular place or realm, and exploit all of their emotions, experiences, and selves.

"This place is truly cursed" Heinald gritted his teeth.

As it waved its skeletal arm, a silver light emanated from the ring on its finger and turned into a sword. An exact black shadow of the same sword appeared in his other hand.

Embers and Narox appeared in Heinald's hand as he waved his hand.

The skeleton leaped forward and swung the swords in its hand. The two swords in his hand left a black and silver light beam in the air.

With two swords in hand, Heinald tried to parry the swords that were coming towards him. However, he encountered a force he did not expect to encounter and was knocked back.

The two swords in the skeleton's hand had cut Embers and Narox in two in one stroke.

"Ugh!" A large amount of blood came out of Heinald's mouth as Heinald was thrown backwards, hitting the wall behind extremely fast, causing large chunks of stone to fall from the wall.

"What the hell is this sword!?" Heinald was in great pain from the long cut in his stomach. As he emerged from the wall, he immediately began to carefully examine the swords in the skeleton's hand.

An evil and dark aura emanated from the silver sword. A thin layer of black smoke surrounded it.

The same evil and dark aura was emanating from the sword, which was form to a black smoke that looked like the shadow of a silver sword.

These swords were obviously made using very powerful Dark Magic runes.

Heinald immediately took the Nitrius Potion that Albin had given him from the dimensional pocket of his robe, uncorked the bottle and drank it all in one go. Within seconds, he began to feel his blood both boiling and freezing. He felt a mighty surge of energy slowly rising from the depths of his body and engulfing his entire body.

The effect of any spell that he would cast based on Fire, Ice, Lightning, and Poison would be 30% more effective for a short time.

He should have used this advantage well!

This Vansha seemed to have possessed various Ainsar souls as well, if that was the case then he probably had their experience taken over and should have been able to cast various spells. Moreover, he already possessed a Magical Treasure and had more Spiritual Energy than him due to the combination of various spirits.

"If this Vansha has not been nourished by soul-capturing for many years, it is only natural to assume that its might has diminished. It is likely that it used to be even stronger than its current self, perhaps even as strong as a Level 3 Ainsar." Heinald was staring at it coldly while at the same time assessing it.

Heinald immediately began casting his magic called Divine Chaos. At the same time, a scroll appeared in his hand and soon began to burn, when it disappeared, a ball of fire appeared on his hand, spewing scorching red flames.

The Skeleton was surrounded by an energy field, and multiple lightning bolts appeared above, emitting intense Lightning Element Energy.

"Waaa!" When the skeleton realized that it was in danger, it let out a shrill cry and began to cast a spell.

"Hmph! You're late, I can cast a spell much faster than you." A cold gleam appeared in Heinald's eyes.

With a loud thunder, lightning streaks began to fall on the skeleton without stopping. At the same time, a fireball began to fly towards it, radiating a scorching heat. This was a Magical Scroll that he had crafted; it contained the power of his magic called Infernal Fireball. It was enough to just send it some Magic Energy.

But before all this happened, the skeleton was surrounded by a layer of black.

*BAAAAM!* The entire area was shaken by violent explosions. Half of the entire area was scorched by scorching fires and lightning. The surrounding elemental energy was so concentrated that numerous particles became visible.

Since the two spells he used were Fire and Lightning-based spells, their effects were 30% higher due to Nitrius Potion.

However, the black layer surrounding the skeleton at the last moment greatly increased Heinald's worries.

When the skeleton emerged from the flames, it was still covered with a black layer, but the energy waves emanating from it seemed weaker than before.

"Did it use a defensive spell?" Heinald's eyes narrowed. Defensive spells always had a counterpart.

Its Spiritual Energy was starting to decrease, most likely as a response to the defensive magic the it used. Of course, this wasn't permanent, but it would continue to gradually decrease throughout the battle, so its Magical Energy would also decrease.

For Heinald, this was a good advantage as Vansha used defensive magic early on. If the Magic Energy it could use ran out, it would mean that he had won the battle.

However, in the current situation, it is still too early to speak clearly.

Green flames began to rise from under Vansha's feet, and these flames merged above its head to form three fireballs.

"Not good!" Heinald immediately cast his spell, Indignation Of Ice. A freezing aura and ice fumes rose from his arms. An ice wave hurled from his hands, and while it was in the air, it took the form of an ice hand.

With Ice hand starting to fly, Vansha had not yet finished casting its spell. An ice burst happened when Ice hand caught it, and everything in the immediate vicinity was engulfed by the thick layer of ice.

The fireballs that had begun to form above Vansha's head had disappeared.

*Crack!* The thick layer of ice surrounding the skeleton began to crack. Black smoke began to emerge from the cracks in the layer.

"No!" Heinald cried out, and with one thought, a pale red barrier surrounded him.

The thick layer of ice surrounding Vansha shattered like a glass vase, and a wave of intense Dark Energy spread out.

This wave was far from an ordinary Dark Energy wave. Most of the surrounding walls had cracked and soon turned into black dust particles.

"This attack consumed 18% of Blood Nightmare Shield's energy!" Heinald had cried out in surprise in his mind.

This meant that if he were exposed to this wave of Dark Energy, he would also turn into black dust particles.

This Vansha had managed to cast a spell while in a completely frozen state. There was only one explanation for this: she it had managed to cast that spell before its skeletal body was completely frozen.

But how was it able to cast so fast?

Heinald noticed that the black orb on its chest was getting smaller and smaller. Although it used defensive magic, Infernal Fireball and Divine Chaos managed to damage it. Moreover, he was able to successfully use his magic called Indignation of Ice against it.

All of this had done a lot of damage to him, but not enough to destroy him.

Infernal Fireball!

Heinald pointed his hands at the skeleton and began to cast his mighty fire-based magic. His arms were covered with red and scorching flames. The flames all gathered in one spot and formed a ball of fire.

At that moment, the swords in Vansha's hand had been blown several meters into the air and were covered with black smoke. When it flew back into the its hand, it had turned into a great ax. It was incredibly dazzlingly glowing and was surrounded by an ominous aura.

As the fireball flew towards Vansha, leaving traces of scorching heat and flames behind it, it swung the ax into the fireball. At that time, black flames appeared on the surface of the axe.

When the fireball and the axe collided, red and black flames spread out. But it was clear that it was the black flames that had prevailed. Even when the red flames disappeared, they still existed.Heinald was horrified by this Vansha's Magical Treasure. It was the first time he had seen a shapeshifting Magical Treasure. Depending on the situation, the use of this treasure could be very useful. Moreover, he was able to use Dark Fire with this treasure!
