Chapter 188: Spending The Day Training While Waiting For Axel To Wake Up
Chapter 188: Spending The Day Training While Waiting For Axel To Wake Up
Alex's PoV:
Mathew took out a crate full of yellow-colored potions from his storage ring and placed it on a wooden table that was located near Mathew's bed.
"Anyways, this would be enough. I'm guessing you needed only one or two but I might as well give you a crate full of energy potions. I don't want you to bother me when I'm concentrating on stealing artifacts so here you go."
Mathew said as he presented the crate full of yellow-colored potions towards me while permitting me to take it.
"Thanks, Mathew."
I thanked Mathew while I took a hold of the crate full of energy potions and lifted it using both of my hands.
I didn't store it in my system inventory since it would make me rather suspicious of storing things without any storage-type artifact such as a storage ring.
I went out of Mathew's room while lifting the crate and I used wind magic to close the door on Mathew's room.
As I walked in the hallway while I was carrying the crate full of energy potions, I discovered that the room of the other senior heroes which were Sophie and Zale was locked from the inside which meant that they were still inside their room.
Sophie and Zale must have been sleeping since the two of them had taken care of most of the things that Axel would do such as training and leading the heroes' party. Sophie and Zale must have been tired due to that.
I made haste while trying not to crash into the wall or something since I might drop the crate full of energy potions if was being clumsy.
I had heard from the second floor that the priest was preaching about God and stuff towards the religious believers so I decided to not interrupt the priest's sermon.
I went through the second-floor window again and I used the [Flight] skill this time to descend on the ground without causing any impact around me.
I didn't want to cause the glass potion bottle to break if I landed on the ground without using the [Flight] skill.
I was now outside the Holy Church while holding a crate full of energy potions. I headed towards the small house that was beside the Holy Church.
I peeked through the window of the small house and saw that Aerin was still sitting on the chair beside Axel's bed. Aerin was still taking care of Axel despite her having no sleep at all.
Fortunately, I had already thought of recovering her energy using an energy potion, and acquiring the energy potion went well.
Mathew didn't mind handing me his supply of energy potion so I easily got a crate full of it. Although, I had to destroy Mathew's barrier before I obtained the crate full of energy potion.
I walked towards the small house and I was now in front of the door. I knocked on the door a few times and I waited for Aerin to respond.
A few seconds later, Aerin opened the door and I saw her face up close. The eye bags underneath her jade-colored eyes were affecting the beauty of her face.
Axel wouldn't like to see that Aerin didn't sleep just because of him since Axel was the type to take care of others and not the type to like being taken care of by others.
Although, Axel wouldn't mind if the one who took care of him while he was unconscious was Aerin. The only thing that Axel would mind was the fact that Aerin had not slept for five days just because of taking care of him.
Aerin's health would be in danger if she didn't sleep or took medicines but luckily, I had already acquired the energy potions.
"I have noticed that you didn't sleep for 5 days now so I decided to ask Mathew to give me some energy potions so that you can recover your energy. After all, Axel will worry about your health if you didn't have any sleep."
I told Aerin the things I noticed about her condition and it seemed that she was already aware of that.
"Thank you."
Aerin mumbled while I passed the crate full of energy potions and she carried the crate full of energy potions in both of her hands.
"Tell Axel I said hi if he wakes up."
"I will."
Aerin and I exchanged words before I went away from the small house and Aerin closed the door.
Now, where was I? Ah, yes! I needed to train my swordsmanship skills!
After I remembered the thing I had intended to do in the first place, I headed towards the training grounds and I saw some of the junior heroes such as Distere, Ferros, and Grace practicing on the training grounds.
Distere was currently chopping woods from the forest near the training grounds and placed them on the training grounds.
Distere used the chopped woods to carve a lot of figurines and statues using his kitchen knife instead of a carving knife. Distere had already mastered his knife techniques to the point that he could use any knife for anything knife-related.
For example, Distere could now use his butcher knife as a carving knife and his carving knife as a butcher knife. Just like me, Distere had not slacked off during the past five days in his training.
Distere and I had also sparred with each other during the past five days and we only ended up with a draw. The reason why I didn't win against Distere in our sparring match and ended up with a draw instead was that the two of us didn't use any mana.
If I had used magic against Distere, I was confident that I could win against Distere by a landslide.
As I watched Distere carve a wooden log using a kitchen knife, I then checked up on the other junior heroes that were on the training ground.
Ferros was currently practicing his control over his destruction mana since it would be disadvantageous for him if he hadn't even controlled his destruction mana.
After all, powerful men such as the destruction mana would be useless if they couldn't hit the target.
Ferros knew about that and he knew he had lacked control over his destruction mana during our training in the Monster's Abode so that's why Ferros had trained in the training grounds during the past five days.
On the other hand, Grace was training her creation mana to create various objects and there were even guns and such that were from Earth.
I even saw a washing machine on the training ground and I knew that Grace was the one who created it.
No one other than Grace could create objects from Earth but the people here in Deus could also create objects from Earth only if they knew the blueprint of those objects from Earth.
Even if Mathew had used his [Universal Steal] cheat skill to steal an object from Earth in the whole world of Deus, he still wouldn't be able to steal anything related to Earth.
Although, it was possible that the people in this world had already created guns but were kept a secret from the rest of the world.
Also, the ancient civilizations might have created some objects and artifacts that were related to Earth such as guns and washing machines but the possibility that that inheritance was destroyed was high.
After I finished watching the training of Distere, Ferros, and Grace, I went to the training grounds.
As I was on one of the training grounds, I created a condensed mana longsword using my mana.
I tightly grip the condensed mana longsword on my right hand and I performed various cuts, thrusts, stabs, and slashed by using the condensed mana longsword.
I activated [Sword Song] and [Sword Dance] skills. During the past five days, I had leveled up both the [Sword Song] and [Sword Dance] skill to level 5 and so it doesn't cost that much mana to activate it.
The [Sword Song] and [Sword Dance] skills allowed me to efficiently execute numerous sword techniques with less energy usage but with an increase in the damage, I would deal with my opponents using my sword techniques.
I trained for two hours before I decided to take a break. I could go on for two to three days without sleeping but that would push my body to its limits.
My stamina was above average compared to the other heroes so I could train for a day or two without sleeping and taking a break.
Of course, I didn't want to try that since I would never know when an attack from the demons would come by.
Axel was unconscious so none of us could lead the heroes' party to defeat a full assault from the demon race. Although, the heroes and I could solo an archdemon on our own but not against a group of archdemons.
It would be disadvantageous for our group to defend against an attack of several groups of archdemons since no one could lead our group. Only Axel was capable of leading the heroes' party.
I am not that talented in terms of leadership since I had spent almost all of my time in my laboratory inventing stuff from my past life.
Axel was badly needed in the heroes' party since he was the key to winning a fight against a group of demons.
As I thought of that, I waited for Axel to wake up while I took a break on the training grounds.
