Chapter 186: Heading Back To The Holy Church
Chapter 186: Heading Back To The Holy Church
Alex's PoV:
Five hours have passed and Axel had still not woken up yet.
Axel must have been severely injured in his internal body so the system must have been helping him recuperate from his internal injuries. Thus, Axel was unconscious since the system was helping him recover his health but only when he was in an unconscious state.
It was more of a life support mechanism that the God Of Worldly Systems had added to the system so that the host wouldn't easily die.
But of course, it's only my speculation that the system was helping Axel recover from his internal injuries.
Anyways, all of the heroes including me had already recovered both our mana and energy so it was time to meet up with Zale and the rest of the junior heroes.
Mathew had already woken up from his nap and was now having a conversation with Pedonar, Sophie, and Aileen.
I went to Pedonar and the other senior heroes since I had decided that I would tell them about my suggestion in heading back to the safe zone that Axel had created.
"How about we meet up with Zale and the others so that we can head back to the Holy Church? All of us except for Axel had already recovered our mana and energy so it might be the best course of action to head back or else the high-level monsters in this forest would attack us anytime."
I suggested to Mathew and the other senior heroes.
"That is a great idea. I'll tell the others about that."
Pedonar said as he went to Aerin and Distere to tell them about meeting with Zale and the others. Distere and Aerin agreed with it.
Since Axel was currently unconscious, Aerin was currently using her magic to lift Axel above the ground and follow her wherever she went.
Pedonar, Sophie, Aileen, Mathew, Aerin, Axel, Distere, and I were currently near together as all of us were heading towards the safe zone that Axel had created.
All of us except for Axel who couldn't provide his opinion had decided to travel towards Axel's created safe zone via walking instead of flying.
Flying in the air would catch the attention of the high-level monsters within the Monster's Abode so all of us decided to walk even though it's much slower.
Sophie had used her shadow magic to conceal our presence so that the chances of the high-level monsters finding out our presence would drop by a huge margin.
As long as all of us didn't use our mana to interrupt Sophie's concealment magic, then the high-level monsters within the Monster's Abode would likely not be able to find out about our presence in this forest.
All of us were heroes so all of us were boosted with an insane amount of stats. Even if all of us didn't use magic to increase our speed, we would still be able to travel to Axel's created safe zone in just a couple of minutes.
Fortunately, all of us had a decent amount of stats in our speed stat so it didn't take as long to reach the safe zone that Axel had created.
"We are almost there."
Pedonar said as he and the rest of us saw the protective array that Axel had created in that part of the forest.
As we were now in front of the protective array, we checked up on the durability of the protective array and we found out that it had weakened considerably.
It must be due to Axel not being able to maintain the protective array.
Unfortunately for us, Axel couldn't control the protective array so we couldn't enter the protective array.
All of the heroes including me were forced to forcefully open an entrance in the protective array so that we could enter the protective array.
Distere and I volunteered to create an entry in the protective array since the two of us had already worked together in forcefully creating an entrance in Axel's protective array.
Distere and I created a broadsword using our mana and the two of us held the broadsword together.
Distere and I channeled our mana towards the condensed mana broadsword and slashed towards the protective array with all of our strength.
A huge cut was generated from Distere and my combined attack so Pedonar and the others including Distere and me had easily entered the protective array.
The huge cut in the protective array slowly mended but it was slower than when Axel took in charge of maintaining the protective array.
I saw Zale and the rest of the junior heroes sitting on the ground while eating grilled water wyvern meat.
It seemed that Zale and the rest of the junior heroes had yet to fully satisfy their hunger as they munched and gobbled down the water wyvern meat that they cooked on a campfire.
Zale, Ferros, Grace, and Catherine noticed that Pedonar and the rest of us had entered the protective array so they glanced towards us for a while before beginning to eat the water wyvern meat barbecue again.
Pedonar and the rest of us didn't mind their behavior as we also joined in eating water wyvern meat barbecue.
There was still plenty of water wyvern meat left so we could eat till we were stuffed.
********
[3 hours have passed...]
All of us from the heroes' party has eaten our fill and we were currently resting.
Our water wyvern meat supply had run out since all of us had eaten all of the water wyvern meat.
I was currently sitting on the ground while looking at the sky. The sky was getting dark so it should be around 5 pm, I think?
I'm not that sure since I didn't have any artifact that could tell time such as a clock.
"It's getting dark so we should head back to the Holy Church and spend the night there."
Zale said while the rest of us nodded at his statement since it was for the best to spend the night in the Holy Church than camping outside.
I used my water magic to create water to put out the fire on the campfire.
All of us stood up from the ground and started to walk towards the direction where the Holy Church was located at.
As we walked in the forest while still being at the Monster's Abode, it was inevitable for us to encounter monsters that blocked our path but compared to the high-level monsters that we had fought against, the monsters that we had encountered were too weak.
Only one attack of ours could kill the monsters that blocked our path and since those monsters were weak, we didn't dismantle their corpses since it was likely that the materials on their body don't sell that much.
As we were exiting the Monster's Abode and was getting farther from the boundary, the monsters we encountered became weaker and weaker and until the point where the monsters in the forest avoided us.
It saved the trouble of wasting our time in killing monsters that blocked our path so we didn't mind that most of the monsters we had now encountered were avoiding us.
As we kept on walking while avoiding the tall trees that blocked our path, we finally saw the training ground from before.
It seemed that we have arrived at the back of the Holy Church and not to mention in just a short amount of time.
The leveling up training in the Monster's Abode had benefitted us a lot and now, all of us were confident in defeating an archdemon.
As we walked on the training ground, we have reached the Holy Church and some of the heroes who lived on the second floor of the Holy Church went towards the Holy Church including me.
Aerin carried Axel to the small house that Axel had created beside the Holy Church while Pedonar and Aileen went to the treehouse that Axel had built beside the small house.
The small house and treehouse had a few but powerful defense and attack arrays constructed by Axel so there wouldn't be any intruders capable of intruding there. Even Pedonar was captured by the array that Axel had created on the tree beside the small house.
There was also a huge protective array created by Axel to protect the Holy Church and the area near the Holy Church from invaders that weren't recognized by the protective array.
Since Axel was currently unconscious, all of the arrays that he had created wouldn't be repaired if it was destroyed but unlike the array that he had created in the Monster's Abode, these arrays that he had built in the Holy Church, small house, and treehouse didn't require Axel to maintain it.
Those arrays would work even if Axel died but if those arrays somehow got damaged, then Axel would need to repair them.
It would be a bad situation for us if the demons invaded the Holy Church again but we might be able to manage somehow even without Axel's assistance as long as our enemy wasn't a demon lord.
As I thought of that, I entered the Holy Church and went to the stairs that lead to the second floor. I then walked in the hallway along with some of the heroes until I ended up in my room.
I opened the door to my room, entered my room, closed the door, and slept on the bed.
Tomorrow would be another tiring day. I hope Axel would wake up tomorrow.
