Chapter 74 - Virtual Portal
Chapter 74: Virtual Portal
"Welcome to the world of Panagea!" Aakesh heard an announcement as he opened his eyes in a new environment.
He found himself in the air floating with only clouds surrounding him.
"Would you like to change your features, or would you like to look the same before entering the world?" A question out of nowhere rang in the surroundings.
"No need! Just send me to the world," He commented. He decided to learn everything on his own in the world.
There was no more voice after his words. The next moment, Aakesh disappeared from there and appeared in a market bustling with life. It was even busier than Kakot.
He could see people belonging to different races shopping in the market.
"Adventurer, welcome to the land of Panagea!" He was looking here and there when he suddenly heard an androgynous voice from behind.
Aakesh expressionlessly turned around and saw a gorgeous being with one golden eye and the other being a silver eye, standing in front of him. The being curiously looked him up and down, and Aakesh felt that he was currently witnessing the most intense form of beauty. Eight elegant, pulsing wings of light spread from the being's back and bathed the area in a warm stream. He recognized them as a subspecies of the top race, Yaksha, called the Angels.
The next moment, he shook his head as he noticed something wrong with him. "Stop the illusion!" He then expressionlessly said to the being standing in front of him. He knew he had fallen into an illusion when Aakesh thought he was witnessing the epitome of beauty.
He found himself without any energy. He was like an ordinary mortal right now.
"Oh… you got rid of my illusion this easily," The being didn't open its mouth, but a female voice appeared directly in his head with a seductive smile spreading across her face.
The next moment, the illusion disappeared, making Aakesh see the actual appearance of the being. She still had an otherworldly beauty, but it was nowhere on the level he thought of her just a few moments ago.
"Adventurer, you've arrived at the right time! The entire world of Panagea is currently going through a crisis! Would you like to know the story behind it?" The next moment, the voice returned to an Androgynous and asked him a question.
"Sure, why not?" He responded as knowing the story about the world first would make the journey fun.
The next moment, Aakesh and the Angel both disappeared from there and appeared in the air.
The surroundings on the ground also started changing as if time was moving backward.
At one point, the change finally stopped. The ground looked entirely different from before. Instead of a busy market, an open field where currently a war was happening appeared. The atmosphere on the battlefield was sark as if an ominous being was coming.
On one side of the army fought people belonging to different races whereas, on the other side, all the soldiers had the same appearance. Dark flames engulfed the soldiers made out of only bones in a humanoid body shape. They gave the feeling of darkness to Aakesh. They looked the same as undead, but he couldn't feel any hint of death from them, so he removed that option, and it was the first time he saw an unrecognizable race.
"Hey, system, is this race real?" He asked the system in his
He could see corpses adding on the side of the living side, whereas, on the other side, those who died vanished into the darkness, and then they returned back the same as before. He finally had an idea of their race after seeing this ability of the other side soldiers. An amused yet shocked expression appeared on his face. If what he thought was correct, then the virtual world is going to be interesting for him.
"Billions of years ago, the world of Panagea had ten Emperors with each Emperor ruling lands vast enough to put even combinations of worlds to shame!" Aakesh was looking at the tragic battle going on when suddenly the Angel next to him started narrating the events.
"Those ten legendary Emperors were Emperor Sudas, Alina, Anu, Bhrigu, Bhalana, Druhyu, Panis, Parsu, Yadu, and Kuru!"
"All the Emperors one day decided to meet and discuss about their empire. But a sudden conflict arose between them due to a question, "Who is the strongest Emperor of the ten emperors?!" At first, they decided to compare the value of the lands they ruled, but no one came off as better in the end as everyone had equal wealth. Everyone then declared themselves the strongest, turning the peaceful meeting into a fight between the ten Emperors!"
"The Emperors were no common beings. They stood at the peak of the Panagea. Each of them held enough power to destroy Panagea several times. They were so strong that even Time couldn't affect them. Since they were so powerful, the battle that they started continued for years without stopping for a moment. But even here, they were equal in power, so no one came out of the battle as the strongest."
"Billions of miles around the area they battled turned into a barren land with no chance of any life to ever grow on this land. Even the air in that area became so threatening that it killed the people trying to enter the land."
"After another draw, the emperors only got angry. They announced a war between the empires that would later be known as 'The battle of ten Emperors', and it would also be the start of an upcoming doom for Panagea!"
"Each empire had an army comprising of billions of soldiers. Emperor Sudas had an army comprising of Divine Elephants and Dragons, so his army started coming at the top in the battle against the other empires. The battle between the armies continued for centuries, and finally, Emperor Sudas won the war of the armies! This war added the damaged area to trillions of miles, with several trillions of soldiers dying. The dying soldiers included Gods as well as Immortals. No one was above the rule of these ten Emperors!"
"Emperor Sudas was declared the strongest Emperor of Panagea, but before he could celebrate, an earthquake affected the entirety of Panagea, and the source of that earthquake was the center of the location where once the ten emperors battled for their supremacy centuries ago!"
