The Divine Wolf... or?

Chapter 168: Ephine's prowess.

Even though it seemed like the angel couldn't feel any pain, it was still not happy with getting its body parts mangled like this. It wasn't just rashly going to rush in like it had done before, as it knew that its opponents were kind of troublesome. Their coordination was fairly on point, and their individual strength was high as well, making them quite hard to deal with.

Since fighting with them in close combat wasn't working too well, the angel flapped his wings, and instantly shot up into the sky.

Dark energy endlessly swirled behind him, creating a suffocating pressure once more. This didn't phase Thufrat or Ephine, and they both got ready to fight once more. After coming this far, they were both determined to kill this evil creature, they could only imagine the harm it had caused so far. And it was probably just going to cause more harm in the future.

The dark energy swirling behind the fallen angel suddenly condensed into 5 long lances behind his back. He stared at Ephine with hatred, and with a wave of his hand, the dark lances were sent flying through the air at an astonishing speed. Naturally, they flew at a speed that was almost indiscernible, yet before they had come halfway to Ephine, they collided with 5 arrows condensed out of wind.

Unlike what you'd expect, no shocking explosions took place this time, only a cloud of darkness was left of the dark lances that were destroyed.

Through this darkness, another lance was flying at an astonishing speed. This lance wasn't like the other lances, as it was more than 3 times the size, yet it also contained almost ten times the amount of mana of the previous lances. Before it managed to leave the cloud of darkness, it was met with yet another arrow condensed out of wind mana.

This arrow naturally contained more mana as well, easily dispersing the dark lance.

The fallen angel was beginning to grow increasingly annoyed with this female in front of him, as she just wouldn't stop ruining his plans. The thing that annoyed him the most was her expressionless face as she did it, it was simply infuriating. Since she wasn't going to be killed by such simple dark lances, the fallen angel decided to go all-out. He just wanted to get rid of her.

The dark mana all around him swirled around and condensed into a beautiful pitch-black sword. The sword didn't look like it was simply condensed out of mana, it looked like an actual black sword, with intricate carvings and runes all over it. Not only did the sword exude an air of elegance, but also power, raw power.

It hovered around a little, like an excited child that was finally let out to play after a long time of staying inside, and it landed softly in his hand.

This was naturally a scene that created quite a disturbance, as the sword looked quite extraordinary. Considering the angel's strength, giving it a strong sword was basically like dooming them all to a bitter fate. Even though they expected the angel to go all-out to try and kill them, the angel just stood there. Instead of flying over and attacking them, the angel just slowly hovered in the air.

With a disdainful sneer, the angel raised the sword over its head, and slashed out with extraordinary power.

A long stream of dark mana was instantly hurled through the air towards Ephine, but she wasn't scared by an attack like this, and she quickly drew her bowstring, and released another condensed wind arrow. The angel knew that such an attack would never work, yet the sneer didn't leave his face.

Before the arrow could meet with the long stream of dark mana, he had already slashed out with his sword once more.

In response, Ephine naturally drew her bowstring, and prepared another arrow. Before she could even release her second arrow, the angel had already swung his sword for a third time, creating another large stream of dark mana. At this point in time, Ephine realised that this was going to be hard if she didn't go all-out to counter the angel's attacks.

The angel wasn't even going all-out yet, and his speed was only growing faster and faster as time passed. Since his speed was just picking up, Ephine naturally picked up her speed as well. But just condensing her arrows faster wasn't going to work, as this angel was condensing his attacks abnormally fast.

Since that was the case, Ephine used one of the few skills she had, and her entire being started glowing slightly.

Without her doing anything, arrows after arrows of all different kinds of elements condensed on top of her bowstring, before they were swiftly released three at a time. Fire arrows, wind arrows, thunder arrows, water arrows, ice arrows, and all kinds of arrows exploded as they collided with the angel's wretched dark mana.

The sneer that was once on his face had already disappeared, and he was now trying his hardest to attack faster and faster.

Even though Ephine's attack speed was abnormally fast, there wasn't much power behind her numerous attacks. But since all she was doing was destroying his attacks, she didn't need much power. All she needed was enough power to cause the dark mana to grow unstable to the point of exploding.

Since that was the case, the speed of her casting was naturally faster than that of the angel, and after a while, he was all of a sudden the one being under pressure.

With her number of attacks being higher than the angels, it was only natural that some of her arrows managed to slip through his numerous attacks, and land on his body. Even if the power inside of the arrows wasn't that high, the damage they dealt slowly accumulated, until his entire body was riddled in scars and wounds all over.

The fight that was going was way too quick for anyone else to try and interfere, but Thufrat was beginning to grow a little restless.

He really wanted to help, yet there was nothing he could do at the moment. Considering the speed the angel was attacking at, he didn't dare to leave Atar on his own. If he tried to go for a surprise attack, and the angel took the opportunity to get rid of Atar, then Ark would never forgive him. There was no way he would go for such a risky move.

Since that was the case, he could only stand and watch as Ephine had to carry the burden of the fight all on her own.

Even though she had the upper hand at the moment, Ephine wasn't confident she would win this fight at all. After such a long time of using this skill, she was beginning to run low on mana. This skill naturally cost quite a lot to use considering how often she attacked, and after all this time, it had come back to bite her.

The angel naturally had to use a lot of mana as well, but Ephine didn't think that her mana pool was anywhere close to the angels.

The angel suddenly stopped its ferocious attacks, and just stood still. It knew that its attacks weren't effective, yet the sneer didn't leave its face even though its body was riddled with wounds.
