Chapter 186: Unknown Protector

Chapter 186: Unknown Protector

The screams of beasts resounded throughout the area that surrounded where Damian rested and after so many beasts had been taken down or scared off, all the beasts in the nearby area moved away and no longer dared to approach the Moose Beast's territory.

With that, the imminent danger that Damian was in was no longer an issue and the Monkey Beast also rested in Damian's arms as hours passed quickly.

While Damian slept, Utsusu, who was still amazed by everything it had witness the Monkey Beast do, helped circulate Damian's energy as much as he could and assist his recovery as he slept.

12 hours passed, and for a cultivator, who would require less sleep, food and water in order to survive, that was an incredibly long time to sleep, especially in the middle of a forest that was filled with dangerous beasts.

Although cultivators may require more energy to improve, their ability to survive without food, water and rest was much higher than that of an ordinary human, which was why Damian was only planning to sleep a few hours each night when he prepared to set off to the beast woods.

He never would have imagined that so many things would happen on a single day and that he would be able to sleep for 12 hours in the Inner Parts of the Beast Woods safely.

Damian's survival up until that point was mostly thanks to the Monkey Beast that had saved him twice, and although it seemed invincible and hadn't been injured once despite all the battles it had been in, it was clear to Utsusu that it wouldn't be able to fight for a while.

Utsusu's sensory capabilities and intelligence surpassed that of Damian's and the Monkey Beast's techniques, just like Damian's copy book, were too powerful for its body to handle.

They also required immense energy, which was why it wouldn't use them to their full capabilities and its body was only able to fight so many battles without suffering injuries because it was incredibly tough and seemed to be enhanced in some way.

It would definitely require a lot of rest and beast meat, while it also won't be of much use as a fighter

Even Utsusu couldn't understand the Monkey Beast and its abilities much, but one thing had been confirmed from what it had observed, the beast was incredible and very loyal to Damian for an unknown reason.

It seemed to be able to sense the incredible aura around Damian, but wasn't sensing his current power which wouldn't seem to out of the ordinary, but was able to gauge his potential and destiny.

Utsusu knew that Damian's destiny was one that would shake not only the world he was on, but the entire universe, but he had never come across anybody else that had such foresight.

Most would only see Damian's potential because of his perceptivity and his Maxwell Fire Soul Spirit, but that was nothing compared to his true capabilities that were yet to even be unlocked yet.

Despite all the unknowns and obstacles that had come Damian's way, he was still striving forwards and it seemed that even if he was defenceless, luck was on his side, but Utsusu didn't want to rely on a beast and allow such a dangerous situation to occur again.

{Once Damian awakens, it is time for me to give him a little nudge on his cultivation journey as although his cultivation speed is steady and fast, he still has so much to learn about what he is capable of} decided Utsusu.

He didn't want Damian to cultivate any faster, as that would merely make his foundations unstable when it would be better for him to spend his time becoming a more capable cultivator overall.

Getting up after sleeping for over half a day, Damian felt much better and apart from the soreness around his entire body, which was to be expected, and the slight headache that he had.

Looking at the Monkey Beast that lay in his right arm, Damian smiled and scruffled his hair, similar to how his mother would usually scruffle his frizzy white hair.

With the Monkey Beast who was still asleep in his right arm, Damian returned the knife he was holding in his left hand to his bag and held onto his bow in his right hand.

Weirdly, despite being asleep, the Monkey Beast was holding tightly onto Damian's arm, which made it so that it was easier for him to move without waking up the beast that was fast asleep.

With the Monkey Beast clinging on his arm, Damian went to pick up his bag but was shocked to see that there was blood on the branch that he had slept on under the bag and then it suddenly hit him.

A strong smell of blood lingered all around the area and since he hadn't completely recovered and was slightly disorientated after just waking up, he hadn't noticed it sooner.

Sliding down the tree, Damian dug his strong and durable bow into the tree to slow his fall and was shocked by what he saw as he landed on the ground.

Around the tree that he slept on, there were dozens of beast bodies and the tree itself was covered in beast blood that had hardened, which implied that it had been there for a while.

Looking up at the small amount of the sky that he could see through the leaves of the trees that covered most of the sky, he was shocked to see that it was almost midday.

[Just how long did I sleep for and what happened while I was asleep. If I really was asleep for so long and this many beasts came to the area, who or what took them down and is it still in the area. If it is still in the area, can I really beat such a creature] thought Damian to himself as he began circulating his energy and preparing himself for battle.
