Chapter 864: Chapter 862-Not A Good Reception.
"But-"
Before I could say anything, Zora came to hold my shoulder, looking at me as she shook her head, after which she focused on the king as she spoke.
"It was an honor meeting you all."
After she said this, Zora went away with the maid, leaving me to the eyes of all the ones gathered in the hall. I kept a small light smile on my face as Queen Elenara spoke.
"My... my, you are more handsome than the rumors. Why don't you take a seat before we all talk?"
With such simple words, she defused the entire bad atmosphere, lightening up the serious situation as I responded.
"Thank you, and you are more beautiful than all the rumors speak of, Queen Elenara."
With that small yet respectful reply, I took a seat against all of them. The eyes of all four focused on me, but my main focus was on the king's sister Valdris, one of the capture targets and one linked to my bloodline. Thankfully, she isn't in a relationship at all. This time, it's a widow that I will have to deal with.
'Her emotions are fluctuating like hell.'
My senses easily picked up all her mood swings. While she looked as if she was okay, hundreds of different emotional changes were going inside her: lust, love, shock, refusal-several mixed together, all working in tandem. Yet she was doing quite well acting as if it was all normal.
"Why don't you first have a drink?"
Queen Elenara spoke, a soft smile on her face that only increased her beauty. As she spoke, a maid seemingly appeared in the room, pouring tea for me, quickly arranging stuff, after which she seamlessly blended back into the shadows.
'Looks like the king is quite emotional right now, the same for the crown prince too, so the queen is taking the lead for the moment.'
As I mused on this thought, I took a sip of the tea, its taste blasting within my mouth as the flavor savored over me. A small reaction took over me as the wave from the drink tried to
purify my energy, attempting to make my mana purer.
"Hehehe... looks like you liked the drink."
Queen Elenara spoke with a small chuckle as she reacted to my surprised expression. Taking my lips off the drink, I looked at her and nodded.
"It's quite good."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
As I spoke, Prince Orik suddenly chimed in with a rough tone.
"You should be, not anyone can drink something of this quality."
Once again, the atmosphere turned a bit sour after these words, but Queen Elenara tried to make things better with her light voice.
"He just means to say that the drink is just a bit hard to get."
Seeing all this, I didn't respond for a moment, my gaze fixed on the royalty in front of me. Then, after a moment, I placed the cup on the table, my posture relaxing as I leaned against the chair, my eyes catching toward the king as I spoke.
"Sigh... why don't we cut all the bullshit and get right to the topic?"
My words froze the whole atmosphere. Everyone looked a bit shocked at this sudden change in the situation, thus I didn't mince my words as I spoke.
"We all know that the dwarves are quite the straightforward race, so why don't we just cut all this shit and get to why it was so important that I come here when I have a lot of things to deal with back at the academy?"
This time the atmosphere turned a bit more fiery. The expressions of the males looked not so good at this blatant display of me shitting on their authority. Just as the two of them were about to blast open, Valdris spoke.
"My daughter speaks quite well of you."
Her words surprised me as I looked at Valdris. Her beauty still existed even in her age, and it also opened up some other things to me, like the fact that she has some good authority in this place and also that King Tharvin respects his sister a lot. There's also the fact that Queen Elenara doesn't like Valdris too.
'I smell hidden drama here.'
Keeping that thought to myself, I suddenly asked.
"Your daughter?"
Valdris's eyes trembled even more as our gazes connected directly. She desperately hid all her signals, but I could pick up the spike in her temperature and the increase in her heartbeat as
Valdris replied with a nod.
"Yes, my daughter Krisly."
"Puff..."
I blurted out as I looked at Valdris in shock.
"But you look so young and beautiful!"
My reaction was genuine in a sense because I Had no idea she was the mother of that annoying dwarf girl Krisly. Though my words didn't affect the outer face of Valdris, she kept a very calm
expression as she replied.
"Thank you."
Everything seemed natural and normal, but I could sense everything else. With my bloodline connection to her, I could tell just how moved she really was, how messed up her emotions were tangling up to be. Thus, still with a surprised expression, I blinked my eyes at her as I
spoke.
"Krisly is really your daughter?"
"Yes, why the doubt?"
To that, I just shook my head as I replied.
"It's just that you look very young and beautiful, that's all. Plus, if it's Krisly that spoke to you of me, then it can't all be good, can it?"
A small smile played at the edge of my lips as I said this. Though I kept my external focus on Valdris, my internal focus stayed on all four of them, reading through their expressions and emotions. A unique scene soon played through my mind from their reactions.
'Queen Elenara has dark reactions from it, the king feels a bit humiliated from losing control of the flow of the conversation, and the prince feels a bit jealous?'
An internal snicker came to me as I read through it all. On the outside, everything looked pin- perfect, as if no problems could exist here. Yet there were more issues than I could count. The little lingering darkness in me wanted to open up the closed wounds and let the problems fester, to bring chaos, but I held it in. The fun I had with the corruption of Lily gave me
breathing space.
"She had lots to say, but there were positives in them."
Valdris spoke in a professional tone, making me chuckle as I replied.
"Sure... sure."
I waved my hand at it, but Valdris wasn't done as she continued.
"I would also like to thank you for saving my daughter too."
I raised an eyebrow at her behavior as I asked.
"You don't look all too angry with the fact that I was the one that originally put her in that
position?"
Valdris just shook her head at my words as she replied.
"She was always a bit too arrogant with all the pampering she got. This taught her a small lesson, that's all. After all, you can't grow without facing any failures."
I smiled at her words as I replied.
"Wow... a woman after my heart~"
A small tease in my words to which enough.
"Enough!"
Thack!
Prince Orik spoke as his warhammer came to his hand and hit against the floor, his face
looking a bit fierce as he spoke.
"You are being too disrespectful in this place!"
His voice held power as his aura blasted out from his body to fill the room. The power of an
Origin level 9 tried to crush me down, but before it could reach me, it was stopped by the presence of the king himself, holding the power down as he calmed the prince.
"Calm, Orik. He is our guest here."
As he said this, the prince calmed down as I leaned against my chair with a frown on my face
as I spoke out.
"You guys forcefully called me here, not accepting my denial since I was in the middle of a delicate situation back at the academy relating to my own faction. And now that I am here, you aren't treating me well. Tell me, who is being disrespectful here?"
As I asked this, my expression wasn't all that good. My hands held to the table tightly, my eyes filled with a frown as I stood up from the place, scratching my chair against the ground as
I spoke.
"I am leaving. This is not a hospitable situation at all."
My words were filled with conviction as I stood up. Before the queen could try to say anything
to de-escalate the situation, the king spoke.
"Do you think you are high enough to just act like this?"
His words were filled with power as he tried to suppress me, my expression turning for the
worse as I replied.
"Do you think I am low enough to be treated like this?"
My words were filled with suppressed strength as I replied.
What do you think?
