The Black Necromancer

Chapter 476 The Bronze Mausoleum

Chapter 476 The Bronze Mausoleum

"Hup!" Elena grunted as she landed on the edge of a rocky cliff. Her long red hair danced in the wind that was roused by the powerful wing flaps of her Dragon companion.

"Mica, get down here!" She called up to the powerful black and gold dragon that hovered in the air.

"Don't wanna!" Mica yelled back and continued to circle around.

"..." Elena stared at the dragon with a flat look. Ever since he had come to the home of Dragons, he had become quite the unruly boy. "Don't make me come up there or you will regret it." Elena's voice took on a dangerous edge and Mica suddenly perked up. His wings folded and he dove down, landing gracefully a short distance away from Elena.

"...I was just playing around." He mumbled, the pride of a Dragon nowhere to be seen.

"Good for you." She rolled her eyes.

Elena peered down the cliffside. At the bottom of the cliff, there was hole that was roughly fifty meters wide. As for its depth, Elena did not know that yet.

"They said the inheritance you need is down here. Are you ready?" She turned back just in time to catch the determined nod of her battle partner.

"Alright, then let's go!"

Mica leapt into the air and dove down head first. As he passed the edge of the cliff, Elena jumped onto his back and the two of them plummeted into the dark hole.

Drip.

Drip.

Drip.

Drops of water hit the stone ground in a constant rhythm, not missing a beat. Elena's ears twisted as she listened for anything out of place. Behind her, Mica had shrunken his body to be able to fit into the underground tunnels that laid at the bottom of the pit. He could have easily taken a human form, but he insisted in staying in his true form. According to him, he felt more comfortable in his own skin.

Whoosh.

Behind Elena, an orb of golden light lit up, created by Mica to light up the way. The Dragon curiously looked around, eager to explore.

"Be careful, Mica. The Dragon Elders told us that the path is filled with dangerous traps." Elena warned.

"They also said they never set foot in here. How are they sure that there are traps in here?" Mica retorted with a grin.

Elena leveled him with a flat stare. "All the creatures they sent in here never returned. Remember?"

"Hmm." Mica only hummed before walking around Elena and heading in deeper, swinging his tail as he went.

Elena bit her bottom lip. Why was this Dragon so difficult? Did she also have such a rebellious streak when growing up?

"What are you wasting time for? Let's go!" Mica called from up ahead.

Elena rolled her eyes for the umpteenth time and followed along, heading deeper into the cave.

"Oho? A special one has entered the hidden cave? No one has dared to go in for the past five hundred years." An ancient voice whispered through the Void. The stars that remained stagnant for years untold suddenly moved. The stars moved until they formed the faint outline of a draconic being.

This ancient draconic being cast his gaze toward the small world of Datar, curious of who had challenged his Inheritance Trial this time. But the attention of this ancient Dragon was instead caught by the gigantic army that was attacking the medium sized world.

"The Army of Destruction?" The ancient Dragon tilted his head in thought. "Datar is my place of birth, but I have little attachment to it. However, this challenger..." The ancient Dragon once again turned his attention back to the one who was challenging the trial he had left behind.

"This!" The ancient Dragon was taken aback when he saw the challenger. "The Child of Prophecy is real?! But it has been millennia!" The ancient Dragon was at a loss for a time, but then it was time for him to make a decision.

"Will I help this world? Or leave it up to Fate? After all, the Child of Prophecy is there. Perhaps a miracle will happen." With that, the stars began to stir again, returning to their original places as the ancient Dragon vanished into the Void once again.

"You have my blessings, Child of Prophecy. We will meet in person soon enough." One star suddenly flashed and shot away from its original position, turning into a streak of light and heading for Datar.

"We've been moving for hours and we haven't seen a single thing except rocks and water." Elena sighed as the duo came to a stop.

Just as she said that, a light suddenly appeared up ahead in the tunnel that they were walking through.

"The exit!" Both human and Dragon were excited to see a way out of the constant darkness and humidity that surrounded them. The light at the end of the tunnel was blinding when they walked through it and they could not see for a couple of seconds.

"Welcome to the Bronze Mausoleum!"

A cheerful voice burst out as their visions became clearer. They found themselves standing in the middle of a vast stretch of land. It was mostly plains from what they could see, but there were a few hills and large rocks here and there.

"The Bronze Mausoleum...?" Elena's voice carried a hint of hesitation as she spoke.

"Yes! The Bronze Mausoleum!" The voice boomed in response but did not speak any further.

"What is this? What is the Bronze Mausoleum?" Mica wondered out loud and looked around, not finding the path that they had used to come in.

"The Bronze Mausoleum is the place where you shall be trialed to prove your worth! If you fail to prove your worth, then you shall remain in the Mausoleum for all of eternity!"

"..." Elena and Mica exchanged uncertain looks with each other. It seemed the answer as to where all the creatures that had been sent in here had presented itself.
