Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 446 Seeing Through Nathan

"Eh? Where is Boris?" The village chief was stunned.

The young man before him only pointed at the mountain, saying, "There were two women here a moment ago, asking him to bring them to the mountain. They said they are from the Frexia Academy."

"!!!" Both Nathan and Selena exchanged smiles, as if knowing who they were talking about.

Nathan immediately calmed the village chief down. "In that case, you don't have to bother with it anymore. They are our friends."

"Ah, yes." The village chief nodded.

"In that case, we'll get some rest first and wait until our friends finish with the investigation and tell you more about it." Nathan then turned to the doctor. "I will visit the clinic in one week or if there's any earthquake again."

"Yes. Thank you for the help."

"Talk to you soon." Nathan politely nodded to them before walking away.

Selena walked alongside him while asking, "So, are we letting Alavenya and Sera investigate the mountain?"

"Yep. This is a good time to test their perception and judgment as well. We still have time, so we can just continue the investigation tomorrow." Nathan waved his hand as if it was not a big deal. "Besides, the idea must have come from Sera. Experience new tales on empire

"This is the first time she suggests such a thing. Someone is there to execute her suggestion. To suggest, to execute, whether she fails or succeeds… it will definitely improve her a lot. And Alavenya is bound to work together with us, so it's good to have Sera teach her around."

Selena contemplated. Now that Nathan explained it this way, she could understand the point.

"I see. In that case, we can only wait."

"Yep. Let's dip into the hot spring. It's going to be nice to warm our body up in the hot spring."

"Do they have a private one we can rent?"

"Huh?"

"I want to enter with you." She shrugged.

"Well, you can ask." Nathan chuckled. "But there's something I want to tell you first."

"Are you going to take another wife?" Selena asked with a judging glance.

*Cough!*

Nathan was startled. "No. That's not it. It's regarding why this mission is so dangerous and the fact that I might surprise all of you."

"Surprise us? Like what?"

"You should have seen it on that tropical island."

"Ah!" Selena crossed her arms. "Are you talking about the wind element?"

"Yes. Are you not going to ask about it?"

"I told you I have no interest in that secret. You could tell me about it if you want, but if you don't want to, I won't force you. In the end, there are also things that I have never told you about. Knowing us, those things are usually something that we can't open very easily, but both of us know that we'll tell each other about it sooner or later."

Just listening to her words made him smile. Nathan nodded. "Yep. I'm planning to use a different element. You should be aware that you can only gain one element, right?"

"Due to the lifebound familiar you once mentioned?"

"Yep."

Selena fell silent. In that case, it meant this power of element didn't come from the lifebound familiar but something else. If that was the case, there was a high chance Nathan could use other elements.

This was an overpowered ability.

However, she wondered if something this powerful could be used without a price.

As if he was able to read her mind, Nathan continued, "I will pay the price, but don't worry. It's not something concerning or even affecting my life. I can promise you that I'm not risking my life because of this."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Nathan had thought about it before. There were multiple elements that he could use to fight against the hands.

For example, he could use a space element to escape, but if he did that, the enemies might be wary and choose to retreat. In other words, he could escape, but they wouldn't be trapped here with them.

The time element might be powerful, but he had little knowledge about it. There was also gravity that he learned from Evelyn, but it was not enough against those hands.

Hence, he chose specifically this mission due to the environment. He had a perfect element that could fight them head-on for at least a few minutes.

But that power was so ridiculous that everyone would be shocked, especially Selena, since it was weird for someone to have two elements.

That was why Nathan specifically mentioned it to her first.

Selena was able to see through his intention. "I guess you don't want me to mention anything about your wind element and let them think this is your element? Even though it's ridiculous to already have an element at this stage, you can still say something else to keep the secret a bit longer. Is that right?"

Nathan smiled. "Yeah. For the time being, the secret can't be out. Well, Alavenya aside, Serafina is gullible, so I have to be careful that she leaks out some secrets unintentionally."

"I can keep it a secret. Don't worry."

"Thanks." Nathan paused for a moment. "By the way, you're not going to ask why I choose to fight the Divine Hand even though it looks reckless? Or that organization?"

"If joining that organization makes you do something bad, then I will probably ask or even stop you. But it's not. You're merely taking care of the terrorist organization. So, there's no point in asking. If you still want me to ask you… Well, I have something in mind."

"What? If it's something I can share, I don't mind answering."

Selena's expression turned cold. "So, who is the one you're aiming for? Knowing you, maybe there is a sexy secretary over there? Or a mighty boss?"

It was at this moment Nathan realized he had shot himself in the foot. Just looking at Selena's expression alone was enough for him to know she had figured him out and understood a bit of the organization.

Seeing Nathan not answering, Selena immediately grabbed his hand and dragged him back to the inn for further questioning.
