Chapter 136
Gu Nian looked up, at loss.
The little assistant walked up hesitantly. "I am about to take off so I won't be able to follow Brother Luo around tonight."
Gu Nian nodded, "Okay, and?"
"There will be a lot of random people at dinner tonight. Can you please keep an eye out on Brother Luo?"
"Of course. I will do that," replied Gu Nian without so much as thinking it through.
"Specifically, don't let him have any alcohol."
"?"
Gu Nian paused for a few seconds before she asked, "Luo Xiu can't drink any alcohol?"
The little assistant hesitated a little and said in a low voice. "Brother Luo won't let me tell anyone. I am only telling you because I don't want you to take this lightly. You can never tell him that you heard it from me."
Gu Nian said in a seriously tone, "Alright, go ahead."
"It seemed that Brother Luo did not grow up around his parents but were taken care of by others. One time someone made a mistake and he ingested something poisonous and had to have his stomach pumped – ever since then, his stomach had been highly sensitive. It had been years since he has had it treated but the issue stayed. Even the night tea that we have given to you before was for the treatment of his stomach."
"……"
Gu Nian was stunned from what she had heard.
"I figured that him being a germophobe isn't the only reason that he doesn't drink any beverages outside. The trauma from this incident might be a bigger part of it."
When the little assistant finished with his grumbling, he finally recalled the point that he was trying to make.
"Oh yeah, he absolutely can't have anything that's stimulating like alcohol. His condition is quite severe but he won't tell anyone about it. It is almost as though he doesn't care about his own health."
Gu Nian's eyes shuddered.
The little assistant, both displeased and worried about the fact, said, "He seemed to have some drinks with his friends before joining the production team. He had severe stomach pain that night and had to have IV fluids the next day. It scared the living daylight out of me!"
"……"
Gu Nian's lips parted. Her throat was so dry that she could not talk. She lowered her eyes after a little while and said in a low voice. "Okay, I get it."
The little assistant looked behind him nervously. "But don't ask him, okay? He won't let me tell it to anyone. Had I not ran into him last year when he was having an episode, he probably wouldn't even had let me know."
"… alright."
Two minutes later.
Luo Xiu walked out from the bathroom in clean clothes with his hair still dripping.
Seeing Gu Nian standing next to the table, Luo Xiu stopped drying his hair for a second. "I guess I am running late."
Gu Nian looked up and looked at him dazed for a few seconds before her lips curved upward. "Yes, you are late for two minutes but I will forgive you."
Luo Xiu smiled gently. "I'll make up the two minutes to you. Your script…"
"We are not going to talk about the script today!" Gu Nian interrupted him abruptly.
Luo Xiu paused.
Gu Nian looked away with a guilty conscience. "Em, I'm a little tired today and don't feel like talking about work anymore. We have that celebratory dinner tonight and it is going to be a long night. We should get some rest right now…"
Gu Nian stopped talking and was annoyed at herself.
… Psst.
What did it mean by we should get some rest right now?
After a few seconds of silence in the room, a low chuckle could be heard.
"You just blurt things out when you are nervous, huh?"
"……"
Gu Nian, being called out, only wish she could dig a hole right then and there and bury herself inside of it.
Before she could salvage the situation, the man had already walked up to her. Standing next to the table and with his long and prominent fingers holding onto the corner of the table, he leaned down slightly.
Combining with the steam and the wood-like scent, the man voice was low and seductive.
What made you so nervous all of a sudden?"
