Rise of the Crusader

Chapter 140

140 The Academy Tournament II

Boom!

The laser struck the area Bane was, but as he was quick to move, the laser strike did not affect him.

Even though he was able to escape from the attack, he was very close to coming in contact with that disastrous attack.

Bane stared at his costumes that were now torn, and, moving his gaze to the huge hole formed by the laser, his eyes twitched.

This was no simple laser, it was a device that not only possessed the attribute of a laser, but also a bazooka.

“Y-”

Before Bane could speak, he was greeted by another laser strike coming his way.

Boom!

However, just like the previous time, Bane was able to avert from the attack.

.....

“What the hell is wrong with you?!”

Staring at his hand that was bleeding, Bane yelled. He glared at Gordon with hatred evident in his eyes.

Bane gathered the insect all over the area that was bleeding, he had only taken his eyes off Gordon for a few seconds, when he felt a movement occur in front of him.

Quickly, he raised his head, and as he saw the two guns that Gordon was holding, his mouth opened wide.

“Son of a bitch!”

Both guns were already pointing towards Bane, and as Gordon pulled the trigger, the shot was fired at him.

Bane wasted no time and fled with all the strength he could muster. He kept moving in different patterns, as once Gordon fired the two blasts, more were coming after him.

Boom!

Boom!

Gordon held nothing back, shooting in all directions that Bane turned to.

The guns were his own creation, a weapon he referred to as laszooka zero point five. Having stocked it with enough energy, he was able to continue shooting for hours without the gun efficiency reducing.

“You... Stay one place, so I can blow your head off.”

Gordon yelled, and as Bane kept on dodging every shot he fired at him, he began to chase after him.

Boom!

The reason why Bane was able to avoid all of Gordon’s attacks was because of the insects who were giving him direction.

Several insects were on his shoulder, giving him advice on where the attack was coming from and where he should turn to.

“Stop running!! Let me blow you up.” Gordon exclaimed.

He then stood gasping for breathing as he had chased Bane all over the stadium, but he still wasn’t able to land a good blow on him.

Every shot he fired at him was eluded on the way or the other.

After Bane received words from the insects about Gordon, he stopped running. He slowly turned towards Gordon, who was breathing heavily.

“Y-”

As Gordon saw Bane staring at him, he slowly straightened his back and heaved a deep breath.

Gordon wanted to raise both of the guns in his hand, but he found himself unable to raise either of them.

The truth was as powerful and incredible as the gun was, it had a major setback. A setback that was considered fatal that even Gordon himself was aware of, but he still chose to go ahead with it.

Every shot that was fired from the gun drew a bit of one’s energy. The laser strike didn’t only materialize from the gun’s miniature engine, but it also drained the stamina of the user.

And even though Bane had no idea what was occurring, he knew this was his chance to make a move.

With thousands of insects forming a transportation device, it only took Bane a few seconds to appear in front of Gordon.

“Y-You...” Gordon stammered.

He had only just uttered a few words when Bane struck a full-force blow at him.

Bang!

Bane’s first was wrapped around with insects of many kinds, and as he struck Gordon’s chest, he left a hole in his body.

“Pffftt!”

With blood splattering out of Gordon’s mouth, he staggered several steps backward. His hands were trembling, and so was the other part of his body.

To the people in the gladiator stadium, Bane had only punched his chest with his hand, but Gordon knew that it was more than that

When those insects came in contact with his body, they didn’t just leave a mark, but a percentage of them went into his body.

Gordon could hear multiple sounds of bones cracking from his body, as the insects chewed on his bones and other organs that they came across.

It was like a party was going on inside of Gordon’s body. His blood was the drinks, his organs were the meals served, and his bones were the most exciting item at the party.

Suddenly, Gordon knelt on both knees, he stared at Bane with fear contained in his eyes and said.

“P-Please... Don’t kill me.”

Those words however only brought a smirk to appear on Bane’s face. He then replied.

“Would you have done the same?”

Before Gordon could retort, his head was yanked off his body by a ruthless pull from Bane.

Bane had a bone-chilling frown on his face, he waved his hand at the insects that were all over Gordon’s neck that was gushing with blood.

And as they all disappeared, he turned around, with his previous cold smile disappearing, replaced with a blissful smile.

“That’s how it’s done,” Bane exclaimed with his hand placed behind his back.

He didn’t wait for the referee to announce the result, and he walked back to his seat majestically.

“Another proof that the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Hahaha!!!”

Grayson burst into laughter a second after he spoke.

Meanwhile, once Gordon’s corpse was displaced from the stadium, the next contestant was called onto the stage.

It was a woman called Labella from the norms division, and another woman called Brier from the research and support division.

Considered to be the second strongest meta-human after Nevaeh in the norms division, Labella possessed the power to emit highly enhanced screams of amplitude.

The disparity in strength between Brier and Labella was one thing, with Brier’s power simply being able to walk on air, it only took a few minutes, and she was defeated by her opponent.

And for the first time since the tournament started, the norms division was not only able to secure a win but there was also no death in the battle between Brier.
