Primordial Soul's Rebirth

CHAPTER 382 - Alex VS Theron 3.

Alex, who was currently in his celestial incubus form, completely transformed and had his pride elevated to a new degree.

So, the moment he heard Theron's roar filled with both challenge and annoyance, something inside of him clicked.

"Like a man, you say?"

*Flap**Flap*...

His voice, filled with sneer and arrogance, echoed throughout the hall along with the sound of large wings flapping.

He was hovering 20 meters away from Theron, looking down at him with a frown.

"Being a mythical 2-ranked entity and asking a legendary 3-ranked person to fight in frontal combat is surely a manly deed."

He sneered, causing Theron to clench his fists as he knew that he was the one who was crying over the fact that he couldn't win a guy much weaker than him, but what could he do? He didn't want to lose.

The guy, however, just stared at Alex, as he knew that Alex wasn't planning on running anywhere, and when he saw the horns protruding out of Alex's head, with two pointing down and two up, he knew that Alex's transformation was done.

There was no use hurrying anymore.

Maybe stalling would be better, as Alex might just run out of mana due to prolonged use of his battle form.

"But sure, I'll play along—I'll fight you like a man."

*Flap**Flap*

Alex, on the other hand, just shrugged, and his large black bat-like wings flapped twice as he descended to the floor, standing 3 meters away from Theron.

He was already at the best of his form; for the first time, he had completely transformed into the celestial incubus.

If he were to tell how he felt right now, then it would be exhilarated.

He could feel the power rushing through his veins; it was so much that he felt like he could destroy the world with a punch.

His mana pool was pushed close to that of a mythical 3-ranker, while his other stats were equal to that of a mythical 2-ranker.

Now, these stats would of course not be enough to face Theron, a guy stronger than normal mythical 3-rankers right now and could go a bit higher if he tried, but who said that Alex was weak?

With his all-master coming into play, Alex could easily contend with average mythical 2-rankers, so although fighting Theron was a bit hard for him, it won't be impossible.

Theron, however, kept staring at Alex, gritting his teeth. He knew that even if he won, he wouldn't have the right to call himself the big brother and demand respect from Alex.

But...

"I accept you as the older brother."

He bowed his head, knowing full well that he lost the moment the thought of cowardice—calling out a weaker opponent for frontal combat—came into his head.

Theron was an honest man, and no matter what it was, even if it was a mistake, he would accept his fault, and so he did, and it raised a lot of brows.

The generals had heard of the Lion Emperor's nature, and they knew he was too straightforward to survive in this world, but he wasn't just that, as his words carried the weight of an entire empire.

"Oh? What's this? Accepting defeat when you sense you're about to lose?"

But out of everyone's expectation, Alex sneered at Theron, which made the guy in question frown as well.

The demon generals, however, were the first ones to realize what was going on.

'He still hasn't deactivated his transformation...'

Yes, Alex, who was speaking right now, wasn't the normal cool-minded Alex; it was the devil Alex, who had his pride elevated by tiers due to the purity of his bloodline.

Alex could've just deactivated his transformation, but if he did that, then he would never be able to test his space elemental power in battle.

"Is this all the emperor of the fiercest empire amounts to? You want me to be the older brother of such a spineless—"

Alex wasn't done with his words, he added; his face contorted, contemp visible in his eyes, as he went on.

He could see that Theron wasn't taking it lying, and he could see the guy's fist clenching hard, but he still went on.

He wanted to fight, but with his bloodline activated, he wouldn't just ask for it; in his mind, he was a higher being after all, and a higher being wouldn't request a lower being.

His words, however, were cut short, as a fist covered in a glaring red flame was shot at his face.

*BAAAMM!!*

The fist got connected, causing golden blood to splatter around, staining the surroundings; it almost seemed like Alex's head had been smashed into smithereens.

At that moment, everyone noticed something...

'He is still standing in his spot?'n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

Alex was still standing on his spot with Theron's fist on his face.

It shouldn't be possible.

Even if Alex was a mythical 3-ranker, taking a direct hit from another such being would send him hurtling through the air, but nothing like that happened.

*Crack*

It was then that a cracking sound was heard, causing everyone's eyes to get pulled toward the iron chains holding his legs, stopping him from being shot at the wall; they had cracks all over them, but they were still coiled around Alex's feet.

"Hehehehe."

It was then that a cracked chuckle was heard; the voice was filled with victory as if the one who spoke had achieved his goal.

Theron, who was closest to the source of the voice, frowned; his eyes red with rage bore into Alex as he pulled his fist back.

The guy was under a lot of stress as he had to admit defeat to a guy weaker than him, but the continuous taunts didn't help the guy, so he finally snapped.

He was trying to avoid fighting in close combat right now, as he knew that he had an unfair advantage, but now he didn't care.

If Alex wanted to fight, he would fight.

Losing to someone weaker than his wasn't really something he could accept easily anyway; maybe he would find some relief after smashing that grin on Alex's face into nothingness.

"Now, that's what I am talking about, but you see, your punches don't hurt anymore—"

Alex's face, which was bloodied an instant ago, was now completely healed. He cackled, a mocking light shining in his eyes as he stared into Theron's eyes, but his words were cut short yet again.

*BAAAMMM!!*

Another punch, stronger than the last one, was smashed on his face, causing golden blood to splatter again, but just like before, Alex still didn't move an inch.

This time, however, instead of just mocking Theron, he moved.

With his face still bashed in, he moved his hand, covered in destruction energy, and he punched the guy in the gut with the power that could kill a mythical 2-ranker.

*BOOOOMM!!*

*Slide*

That punch, although it didn't send Theron flying about, still caused the guy to slide a few meters away, causing the ground to shatter.

"...."

That single action, however, caused the hall to get covered in a stunned silence.

Theron, who could feel the pain in his abdomen, just stared at the dark red-colored mass of energy eating away at the flames covering his body with a dumbfounded look.

He was sure that if he let it be, then that thing would eat away all of his flame; it might even start devouring his body, but he just stood still.

He stared at the 10-meter-long skid mark on the ground, and then he looked at Alex, who was now cracking his neck with a grin on his face.

*Crack*

"Now, that's what I call an expression."

Alex spoke, breaking the silence, causing Theron to realize that the danger called Alex wasn't something he could take lightly, even if he was fighting within the area of his expertise.

Everyone in the room, even Alice, Ann, Luna, and Noctura, who had never seen Alex fight at such magnitude before, could feel the tables turning.

The one who was yet to come out of her shock, however, was Selina. Explore more at empire

Until now, all she saw was Alex getting thrown here and there, and although he had a smile ever-present on his face, she couldn't see him winning. Now, however, things changed.

Alex could land a hit on Theron, and from the looks of it, the punch wasn't intended to do much damage and just push the guy away.

Just being able to land a hit was enough, yet she could tell that Alex was just starting; he wasn't done with his showcase yet.

One thing, however, was clear to everyone now: The series of clashes would be the last.

The moment they stop will be after the victor is decided.

It was then that everyone saw a strange wiggling mass of dark black substance covering Alex's arms in the shape of his arms, but it didn't end there.

"Since I will be fighting the way you fight, why not have a weapon matching you?"

Alex raised a brow, and the next second, the black tar-like thing, which was covering Alex's hands, shifted a bit, causing sharp claw-like shapes to elongate from his fingers.

"This is better."

He mused, staring at his claws, which were Verathian, his trusted blade, listening to his commands.

Theron, on the other hand, finally calmed down, his gaze turning solemn as he tore apart the mass of destruction energy with his red-colored flaming palm, throwing it away before he locked his gaze on Alex.

Both of them stared at each other for a second before...

*BOOOM!*

The sound barrier broke as they shot toward each other at a speed enough to send shockwaves throughout the area.
