Chapter 140: “Reminiscence”

Chapter 140: “Reminiscence”

I was curious about the story, so I urged him to go on.

Abdullah was originally a goblin born in the south, not in this area.

He lived in a small village, but one day he was attacked by a group of adventurers and wiped out.

Abdullah had by chance left the village and escaped, but he was left alone in the world and at his wits' end.

It seems that it was then that Mr Kofuji appeared.

When he first saw him, he was terrified by his appearance, but the other side seemed to be the same way and did not attack him.

After that, the two people who had nothing to offer each other somehow ended up working together, and although they had trouble communicating with each other, Abdullah recalls fondly that the days after they managed to learn each other's language were enjoyable.

According to the story, Mr Kofuji had a very caring personality, and at the time, he patiently kept up with Abdullah, who was just a lazy bum, and they worked hard together.

Mr Kofuji himself thought it was necessary to build up his strength to survive in this world, and he seemed to have put a lot of effort into combat-related training and study.

He seemed to place equal importance on communication with Abdullah, and his expression as he recounted his memories of him was like that of a child happily recounting his memories of his father.

The story continues.

Mr Furudo is a reincarnated person and his potential is extremely high.

By the time he got used to controlling his own body, he had developed a level of competence that no monster or adventurer out there could match.

Abdullah was also quite capable of fighting by then, and their lives began to stabilise.

They moved from place to place, sometimes settling in places far from human habitation, and although life was hard, they were happy.

Then one day. They found a trading party under attack by monsters.

By the time they found it, it had been overrun by monsters, but miraculously there was a survivor.

An elf child.

The child was supposed to be sold into slavery with his family.

It seems that his parents managed to save his life as a result of their desperate efforts to shelter him.

Mr Kofuji had his doubts, but he had acquired some common sense about this world, so he decided it was dangerous to leave the child unattended.

He decided to take him in.

That was how he met the elf boy - Rikhard.

Rikhard is a very clever boy who quickly learnt Furudo's Japanese, Abdullah's subhuman language and even the human language.

In addition, he was quick to fit in and he soon became a part of their lives.

The number of people increased from two to three, and a peaceful period of time ensued.

It was a few years later that an incident occurred.

One day, they suddenly appeared.

They were a strange group of people who could be described as both monsters and humans.

They had unnatural wings and strangely shaped arms and legs on their human bodies, and were strange from the outside.

...They were people who had transplanted demon parts?

They didn't replace them, they added them?

It's Darzain no matter how you look at it.

They've been working since that time, they're annoying to no end.

But still, they were doing such bad taste patchwork.

...Ah. I can't speak for others because I do it too.

It seems like it was quite a long time ago and they were in the middle of a trial and error process?

I put aside unnecessary thoughts and concentrate on the story.

According to Abdullah's story, they came to Mr Kofuji to invite him to join them.

At that time, he was at a distance and could not hear the content of the conversation, but he only knew that the negotiations had broken down.

Then they suddenly changed their attitude and attacked him.

This is similar to what I heard from Death Worm before.

It was good that he was able to fight them off, but he was completely captured and was pursued relentlessly.

He began his life on the run, dealing with the attacks.

The situation of being constantly targeted was more exhausting than they could have imagined.

It was apparently around this time that Mr Kofuji began to create the Death Worm.

Abdullah and the others called them 'dependents', and Mr Kofuji did not give them a specific name.

According to Abdullah, it was not Mr Kofuji's intention to create a 'household' and he did not tell them how he created it or anything like that.

However, it is said that Mr Kofuji was intensely fatigued immediately after creating them.

...The old man at the head of the line did it too, but is it so draining to create subordinates?

I'm curious, but it's not something to worry about now.

After that, Abdullah and his men continued to flee northwards, evading their pursuers and avoiding being seen.

On the way, a further change occurred.

This time, men and women wearing white vestments and human guards who look like knights appear.

After fighting off their pursuers, they apparently asked Mr Kofuji to come under their protection.

The men were polite in their language, but seemed to have a very high-handed attitude.

Mr Kofuji was troubled, but refused the offer.

It was only natural. Obviously, they were only interested in Mr Kofuji.

If he had accepted, Abdullah and the others could have been disposed of.

...but white vestments and knights.

I remember that visual. If not, isn't it gnosis?

The reaction of those who were turned down was exactly the same as Darzain's, as we've heard before.

They're going to attack them, saying they're 'god enemies' or something like that.

...What they are doing is exactly the same as Darzain, isn't it?

How can you talk about spiritual knowledge and other grandiose ideas? Aren't you ashamed of yourself?

Considering that they are keeping reincarnated people, there is no doubt about it.

Dasein and Gnosis attack alternately.

They were formidable and vindictive.

On the way, Darzain and Gnosis were said to have turned against a black mysterious monster and a white humanoid entity, respectively.

The black one was probably a demon, but the white one had no idea.

The extraterrestrials were particularly formidable, and Mr Kofuji had a hard time while protecting Abdullah and his men.

Abdullah added regretfully, "If only we hadn't been there".

The difficult journey comes to an end near the Tierdras Mountains.

Perhaps annoyed by the persistence of the Kofuji, the two forces attacked in earnest.

The Kofuji clan decided to let the two escape due to the extraordinary number of enemies.

He forced the two weeping men to flee and intercepted the enemy on the spot.

The three-way battle was terrible despite the distance between them.

In the end, he and Mr Kofuji never met again.

Afterwards, Abdullah tried to return several times, but was stopped by Rikhard and eventually gave up.

A life of just the two of them began.

The distance between them after losing Mr Furudo became a delicate one, and they apparently lived with a lot of awkwardness between them.

Nevertheless, they managed reasonably well together.

The forests beyond the mountains were well supplied with food and they did not starve, so they had no problems surviving.

Orcs, trolls and goblins were present at the time, but they were not so widespread that it was difficult to cross the mountains.

The wound of losing Mr Kofuji remained in his chest, but Abdullah thought at the time that time would heal it.

It was about the time they got used to life in the forest.

A group of elves appeared before them.

They said they had come to protect their own people, Rickhard.

Abdullah hesitated, but thinking of Rikkhard's happiness, he decided to return him to the elves.

Rikhard himself was unsure, but in the end he decided to go.

Thus the strange brothers, goblin and elf, went their separate ways.

After that, the two met only a few times a year.

Many years have passed since then.

Abdullah also found friends in Shudras, built a village, had more children and expanded his power.

This seems to have been the result of Kofuji's education, as he was stronger and smarter than most of the goblins, and so he rose steadily through the ranks.

Rikhard also showed his talents among the elves and increased his position and influence.

When he said he had taken a wife and had children, he gave his blessing honestly.

But after that, Rikhard started to go a little crazy.

Every time they met, he started talking about God, faith, etc. At first Abdullah was worried, but one day he saw him with a feather pendant on a stick hanging from his neck, and his confusion changed.

It was the same, albeit slightly different in design, as the crest carved into the armour of the white men who had attacked him, and the one hanging from the neck of the vestments-wearing men.

When Abdullah asked what was going on, Rikhard started saying incomprehensible things such as "I have awakened to my faith" or "I have received an epiphany".

There were many exaggerated phrases, but in essence, Rickhard gave himself up to those white men in exchange for safety.

Abdullah was furious.

Of course he was. The brothers had flirted with one half of Mr Kofuji's enemies.

When Abdullah tried to grab him to tell him to stop messing around, Rikhard told him to join him.

It seems that this was reason enough for his anger to sublimate into murderous intent.

However, it seems that Rickhard had read this development as well, and Abdullah was almost killed when he was attacked by an ambush soldier who was hiding.

Abdullah escaped with his life and swore revenge against Rikhald and the elves who had corrupted him.

There was some embarrassment at his changed relatives, but anger overcame it.

Abdullah focused on the annexation of the surrounding settlements and, although it took some time, he managed to establish a goblin kingdom in his own lifetime.

...and so on to the present.

After I had finished listening to the story, I was rearranging it in my head.

What can I say, I think I saw the darkness of the Gnosis.

They even made followers among the elves?

But what is going on?

If Abdullah's stories were all true, would it be dangerous to go into Elven territory?
