Chapter 2170 Rebuilding After The Battle
After the King's speech throughout Ress, people started to have faith in the kingdom and their management once more. Besides, it felt inconclusive if there was no information given to the people and the Celestials occupied Lyro for no reason.
Now that the King's speech had been done, people started to move to begin the recovery process of the kingdom. The military and civilians began to make sure that everyone still had basic food and shelter within the underground tunnel networks while most of the working population cleared the scrap and rubble incurred by the war.
While it might seem as if Jin might have built the buildings for naught but that was not the case. Right now, his improvised smithing skill has gone up to S tier. There was even a trait where he could rebuild items almost in an instant as long as they had been built before. What's more, is that Jin did not need to look for resources.
All he needs to do is to wait for the military to gather the resources in one place and he can get the magic going. Of course, for the first time, Jin stuck around for a long while to ensure that the 'instant' rebuilding would happen as the skill description would have done.
Thus, when the military had already put together all the rubble in one particular location, Jin's secondary system had ticked that the resources required were sufficient.
So, with Mr Hammer, that one knock on the ground was sufficient to ensure that the buildings were rebuilt once again. Some of the civilians and military looked in awe as there were no shiny lights that magically allowed the rubble to turn into buildings immediately.
Instead, the wreckage looked as if it was changing colours and shapes right in front of the onlookers and it made the people feel like they were kids again to watch this magic happening right in front of them.
However, not all of the rubble had been magically turned into buildings. Some of the Fortress Golems, tanks, and even crashed air planes had been left as monuments for this week long Celestial battle. Their state had been preserved such that they would not catch on fire nor explode because of the remaining ammunition inside them.
They were left between parks and gardens and some had been positioned as statues to keep people in the known that their fellow citizens had sacrificed their lives for this day.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Of course, this did prompted Jin to query the System whether if it was possible to revive the dead back which the System replied that it was an easy task to do so considering how it still had the God of Preservation acting as its battery pack and processing unit. Yet, despite the ability to do so, the System deferred the decision to do so.
It stated that doing so would cheapen the achievements that the families had in this world which Jin believed it sounded more like an excuse rather than a valid reason. When pressed for a better answer, the System merely stated that there was no reason for Jin to call them back to this world.
"If User prefers a more valid reason, the soldiers and civilians that can be revived would eventually suffer because they are now under the property of the System. Their families will die a mortal death and yet those revived citizens of yours would have an immortal life.
Also considering how you are going to return to your home world, the number of years they will live in this world would undoubtedly be infinite. You are just causing hurt to these soldiers and civilians until you decided to call them for aid." The System explained and of all a sudden, this matter dawned on him that he could inflict such possible suffering to his minions.
"I see… and if that is the case, how about we do a memorial service for them instead? We can do up some sort of spiritual 'gateway' thing that allows the people to do some sort of proper farewell to their loved ones. It also gives our minions a chance to reconcile with the fact that they need to depart away from them?"
"A temporary state where the living and the dead could reconcile together?" The System asked once more to confirm and Jin nodded his head solemnly. "I mean there are some people who are still in the heat of battle and they do not have the time to break down their emotions.
Once a portion of the city has been restored and there is some normalcy in their lives, we should put up this 'festival' and they can use this as a day of consolation."
"User is the King and thus has the ability to make the judgment. The System will recommend that Victory Day and Memorial Day be placed side by side so that the people of Ress can commemorate the hard work they did to earn this victory as well as an official day to recognise the contributions the soldiers and civilians had put in."
"Ehh…then that means we have to do the memorial service by tomorrow…?" Jin sounded confused and the System eventually told him that he could have both Victory Day and Memorial Day can be celebrated next year while internally shaking its proverbial head to show its displeasure at how Jin could be both smart and stupid at the same time.
But just as the conversation ended, so did the process of the improvised smithing of the restored buildings. It seemed like there was no issue with the buildings and the only things that were lacking were the civilians' previous furniture and belongings.
Still, to the people of Ress, it continues to feel like it's an achievement done by their King once more, and appreciated his efforts when he really did not do anything much.

Mr Hammer also felt that he finally had a breather instead of knocking on nails, wood, and metal for long hours to get the buildings done. And so, with the confirmation of the building process, the military now has a better idea of what needs to be done which allows Jin to go Lyro and check out the Celestials as well as the humans who had been assigned to take care of their hospitality.
