Chapter 374 Tailor-Made
"Are you sure?" Zeker looked at me skeptically.
They had tried everything, and it didn't work. Now, I declared that I accomplished what they failed to do, so it must have hurt his pride.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Let's give him a chance," my copycat spoke up. He might not trust me fully, but they had limited options now, so he was more lenient.
"Suit yourself," Zeker finally gave in and agreed.
My copycat must have a higher status for him to back down. I've seen Zeker in action before, and he's a bit more powerful. So, it was really strange that he acted more respectful towards my copycat.
"I will try opening it now. Just wait for my signal," I stepped closer to the glass and touch it with my palm.
This time, I felt a familiar connection to it. Unfortunately, my power was not enough to fully take control, so it would take me some time to influence it.
I closed my eyes and tried to synchronize my power with the glass surface.
This glass could absorbed any kind of attack from the outside, so instead of forcing myself in, I needed to find a sweet spot where I could influence it to be flexible enough for me to manipulate.
I could feel some type of energy consistently flowing through this glass to sustain its power and durability. However, this energy was so condensed that it was really hard to search for an opening or weak point.
Seconds turned into minutes, and a bead of sweat dripped down my forehead.
Controlling this thing was harder than I thought. I was both frustrated and amazed at how this Alien Technologies worked.
"How long are you just gonna stand there?" Zeker injected an insult.
But, I just ignored him.
Right now, I needed to concentrate and clear my mind of any distractions.
Seeing that I was paying him no attention, Zeker turned away in frustration, his annoyance evident. He kept his mouth shut, realizing that further comments would likely fall on deaf ears.
'An opening!' I opened my eyes after finding a way through.
"Grab him!" I shouted as I opened a tiny hole in the glass. The gap was so small that my copycat had to pull Grandpa headfirst using telekineses . Your next read is at empire
SWOOOSH!
The speed of the pull was so fast that any normal human would have turned into a meat paste due to the momentum. Fortunately, my grandpa proved to be quite sturdy.
THUD.
He landed on the ground safety and quickly regained his footing.
"Father," Mom whispered with tears welling up in her eyes. She leaned closer, embracing him tightly as if she had been yearning for this moment.
"Zayen, I missed you," Grandpa whispered with a warmth that only a reunion could bring.
It was a wholesome moment; however, it all changed because of one wrong mistake.
He turned to my copycat, his eyes softening. "Zyden, come here," he added, extending his hand.
'Fuck this old man, I'm the one who saved him, and I didn't even get a thanks,'I thought, irritated.
'Calm yourself... Calm yourself,' I repeated. I could feel my emotions stirring again, after being close to my mother.
"Who is this person?" The old man looked at me.
That's right, I'm no longer calling him , grandpa. He lost that right when he decided to ignore me
"Father, I will explain later, but trust me. He is on our side," my mother defended me, but deep inside, I did not agree with her words.
Why was she not introducing me as her son? It's been bothering me all this time, but I decided to wait for her to tell me the full story later.
"Father, he was the one who saved you," she added after seeing my irritated face. She must have caught on to my inner emotions.
The old man simply nodded, not offering a word of thanks, and began talking with my copycat like a grandfather who doted on his grandchild.
Normally, I wouldn't be bothered by this— to hell with having a family or a grandfather. It was just that my mother's ability was making me more emotional.
"Let's get out of here, Master Zely is waiting for us," Zeker urged, his tone filled with urgency.
Everyone nodded, and we hurriedly escaped from this place.
Along the way, I started listening to them talk about this Master Zely. I was curious about the identity of this person they recognized as the new Clan leader. I could tell from the way they spoke that they greatly respected her.
The only exception was my mother, who was uninterested in hearing about her.
They were all pumped up, talking about her big plans to bring back the Zol Clan and take control of the planet again.
It also made me uneasy, hearing them chat excitedly about finding more Zol Clan members and starting a war against humanity.
Their excitement for being on top again painted a bad picture. I realized I was stuck with a bunch of crazy people. Thankfully, my mother didn't share their enthusiasm for the questionable topic.
'I need to talk to her about her say on this matter,'I mused to myself. I wanted to know what my her plan was. I refused to believe that she was like those other Zol Clan members whose minds were focused on starting another war.
In fact, I saw her face flinched when they mentioned war and reviving the clan.
"We're getting close," Zeker declared.
'Mind Link' Before we reached the hangar above, I commanded Aiku's group to hide from us, because they were ruthlessly killing everyone they encountered.
DING
The elevator opened up, and what greeted us was the hangar filled with hundreds of Cerebrum agents, armed and ready to stop us.
"Kill everyone!" Zeker shouted as he unleashed his power.
In an instant, dozens of lives were lost, bodies flew, exploded, convulsed as they got massacred inhumanely.
[Level Up]
The sound of the system notification put a smile on my face.
But it did not stop there.
[Mission: Kill a Zol Clan Member]
[Reward: +2 Level UP]
[Reward: Weakened Status (Lifted)]
'Perfect,' a sadistic grin formed on my face. This mission was tailor-made for me.
