Chapter 1226: Chapter 1225: Inking Paper, Inking Skin
We had come to an agreement that we needed some more time to prepare and make sure that we were heading into the Labyrinthian with everything that we could possibly need and in the right state of mind, so I took this time to continue exploring something I rarely got to do.
Putting ink on skin and empowering myself via badass tattoos that were brimming with magical power and extreme potential, especially if I managed to get them done perfectly, which was why I spent so damn long copying them over and over again in some new notebooks.
Making sure that each rune was as optimized and powerful as it needed to be while also keeping the entire sequence in perfect working order that was not only powerful but also efficient with my mana and with my Core was taxing on my mind, but definitely in a good way. Even more so since a few more manuals were secured into my mind's library as I purchased a half dozen books on enchanting, tattooing, mana efficiency and general spell work from various ages, allowing myself to draw inspiration from all sorts of spells before beginning my work in perfecting them as much as I possibly could.
Leone sat down with me and helped me as best she could, and in some cases she did more work than I did as we both looked at these spells from different sides; my passion and love for magic making them grandeur and sometimes overly fine tuned to the point of being downgraded in terms of strength while Leone was far more logical and focused with her work. Both of us would look over the same spell multiple times before we finalized it for the potential drafts, copying it down into a more expensive book for proper storage and just to showcase what was on our bodies without needing to show off our bodies since some of these were going to be in more intimate areas.
Leone already had one securely hidden between her breasts, resting right on her sternum and imprinted deep into her skin, while I had another that crowned the most intimate point of my body, so we were very familiar with being reluctant to show off the ink we already had.
We also weren't just making new tattoos for ourselves either, and in that regard I had taken one of the Magic Pens we had and 'upgraded' it via the System, fixing it with a far stronger and superior Mana Crystal as well as a fine nib that would ensure the mana being permanently implanted into our skin was as precise as possible.
Another 'prayer to Reincantra' answered as a Phoenix themed Magic Pen appeared out of nowhere, but I was sticking to my decision to stop saving up these Shop Points and to start spending them freely, and this was a worthwhile purchase.
Especially since it could hold Light Mana, which cost me quite a lot - 175,000 SP to be exact - but was more than worth each and every single point I spent since this enabled the tattooing of Jahi's body with the spells she had told me about before.
Simple ideas that Leone and I could easily make into reality like the arm spells tattooed onto her shoulders or the tail spell that would grant her yet another limb to attack with; then there were the empowerment spells that we could tattoo onto her ribs to further boost her body's already insane physiology even more by increasing her mana intake and circulation when standing in light.
Things we could do now that we had a tool that could withstand her magic, but in order to do so she needed to charge the Magic Pen up with her mana quite a bit, which took a lot of time and drained a lot out of her, though the moment I was confident enough to begin etching lines of gold into her blue skin I did it with a steady hand.
Her bare, chiseled back was going to become even more of an artwork as I carefully and methodically dragged the sharp nib across her skin, the golden threads of her mana burrowing into her flesh before permanently altering it as a Ritual Circle was laid out on her left shoulder.
The pain was there for us both, with Jahi enduring the sharp scratch of the nib alongside the burning sensation of her own harsh Light Mana searing itself into her for good while I had to manhandle this radiant, dominant mana without losing control, all while I also felt a modicum of the pain she felt thanks to the bond we shared.
It took two hours just for this one enchantment to be engraved onto her back, and by the end of it both of us were drenched in sweat and exhausted, but Jahi had to try it out instantly, the Demoness standing up and pushing her mana into the new Ritual Circle on her left shoulder and looking into the mirror in amazement as an arm sprouted out of her back.
She could move it with some concentration, and this was something that would take some getting used to in order to confidently use it during a fight, but just having it there now was more than enough, especially since she was able to grab and lift things with it already.
Even if they got singed as the Light Mana proved to be just as harsh as always, though that just meant getting punched by this arm would hurt like hell, so that was certainly a plus.
Since I also wanted some more ink of my own - but I was a bit too drained to sit through one of the more detailed and powerful tattoos that I wanted - I had Leone take the Magic Pen from me and tattoo both of my ankles - inside and out - for a total of four tattoos that were all identical.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
A little spell that took the shape of a wing made of Wind Mana that would boost my speed even more, with the inspiration being rather clear even to my lovers, who apparently had heard of a similar story in this world as well.
