My Little Sweet Wife

Chapter 248 - Cui Luixian’s Anger II

Chapter 248 - Cui Luixian’s Anger II

"Nanny Cheng, go ask someone to cook a Liuxian bowl of hangover soup. Someone in the family is carrying a child, and she can not smell alcohol. Liuxian's body reeked of alcohol." The Old Man shook his head and instructed Nanny Cheng, "Go and take a look at the car that brought her back. Why would she drink so much? Don't tell grandpa that you started hanging out with bad friends out there?"

Cui Liuxian only looked at Xian Zihao's figure with a wronged expression. She did not refute the Old Man's words and instead leaned against the door, biting her lips.

Jiang Ruolan knew how good the relationship between Jiang Bingqing and Cui Liuxian was. When Wei Donghai kidnapped her, she was not sure if Cui Liuxian had joined hands with Jiang Bingqing or not, but towards Cui Liuxian, Jiang Ruolan could only stand on the side and wouldn't even in her lifetime, she would like her.

"I'm full, how can I finish this dish you gave me?" Jiang Ruolan put down her bowl and chopsticks and looked at Xian Zihao resentfully. She wanted to show him what was in the bowl in front of her and felt embarrassed for not being able to finish it.

Xian Zihao smiled, disagreeing with her words. He took Jiang Ruolan's bowl and placed it right in front of him. The dignified CEO of Xian Group was sparing no effort to help his wife eating the leftovers.

"Heh …" Cui Liuxian's cold laughter rang out. "You can make such a scene so lifelike. Truly amazing."

Old Man Xian was originally only worried about Cui Liuxian drinking, but the moment she said that, the Old Man immediately became serious, "Liuxian! Why are you so rude? Are you drunk too?"

"Grandfather, I'm not telling lies!" As Cui Liuxian spoke, she couldn't even stand up straight and stared at Jiang Ruolan, "I heard that there were some people who were almost asleep by a group of men in G City a few years ago. After what happened these few days, I wondered if the seed in her stomach actually belonged to Zihao."

The sound of chopsticks being slammed on the table echoed in the dining hall.

This sound did not come from the Old Man, nor did it come from Jiang Ruolan. It came from Xian Zihao.

"Cui Liuxian, be careful when you speak." Xian Zihao glanced at her, her eyes calm but sharp.

"Why should I mind my words? Are you sure she's clean?" Cui Liuxian's eyes turned red as she looked at Xian Zihao, "Jiang Ruolan was never clean. Zihao, don't be fooled by her. When she was seventeen, she was almost--"

"Five days ago, you and Jiang Bingqing met on Beidou Avenue. That day, who did you meet?" Xian Zihao just uttered those words vaguely, but his eyes mockingly looked at her.

The color of the blood on Cui Liuxian's face immediately drained out. She looked into Xian Zihao's cold eyes in shock. Then, she immediately looked away and looked at Jiang Ruolan, sitting next to him with hatred.

The Old Man took a look at Xian Zihoa's expression, which was sharp and cold, a type of expression rarely seen at home. Then, he saw Jiang Ruolan gently clenching her hand into a fist by the side of the table, and the Old Man couldn't help but take a glance at Cui Liuxian's stiff white face.

Immediately, the Old Man shouted, "Bastard! You have been drinking wine until you are drunk and then, you went home talking nonsense! Nanny Cheng, send Liuxian back to her room."

Cui Liuxian's eyes were bloodshot as she looked at the Old Man. When Nanny Cheng went to help her, Cui Liuxian wanted to shake her off, but she couldn't stand straight due to drinking too much wine. She staggered as she was helped up.

Before Cui Liuxian went upstairs, Jiang Ruolan also caught a glimpse of her eyes as she turned around to look at her.

It was filled with a deep hatred.

Actually, the Old Man had asked Nanny Cheng to accompany Cui Liuxian upstairs because he was trying to protect her, didn't he?

When Xian Zihao uttered those words, everyone's expression changed. When Cui Liuxian was sent upstairs, Xian Zihao acted as if nothing had happened and lightly covered Jiang Ruolan's fist, gently separating her fingers to prevent her nails from pricking her palm again and intertwined both of their hands.

"Some people have finally shown their true nature." Xian Guiying said in a cold voice as she slowly used her chopsticks to pick the fishbone.

The Old Man pursed his lips. He was obviously rather angered, but he didn't want to flare up.

"Grandpa, even if you want to protect outsiders, you still have to take care of my sister-in-law's feelings. She carried your great-grandson, and you had closed your eyes repeatedly when something like this happened. Right now, you should be clear that what happened this time is related to Cui Liuxian. You should know better than anyone else that the love of your old friend has already been reciprocated after twenty years. Could you possibly want to exchange the life of a child in my sister-in-law's belly with the life of your old friend?"

Xian Guiying's words have a pretty deep meaning, but her words also fit the Old Man's thoughts. The Old Man only looked at her coldly in displeasure but didn't reprimand her. He sighed, "Eat your food."

Xian Guiying only pursed her lips, not saying anything further.

Many things were already obvious, and there was no need to say more.

For someone as old as the Old Man, he was already used to the rain and the wind. Perhaps he could see too many things more clearly than they could.

At night, Jiang Ruolan drank some traditional Chinese medicine to calm the womb while looking at the distant suburbs' stars. It wasn't unreasonable that the Old Man would build Xian Residence on the outskirts of the city. Not only was the scenery good, but the stars here were brighter than in the city.

A coat suddenly covered her shoulders. Jiang Ruolan turned and saw Xian Zihao, who had just taken a shower, fixing her clothes.

"What are you thinking about?" Xian Zihao put his arms around her and kissed her lightly on the ear.

"I'm not thinking of anything. I'm just feeling a little bit more at ease in Xian Family now. I'm very gratified, and also very happy." Jiang Ruolan answered honestly.

Xian Zihao smiled while wrapping his hands around her belly. "Then let's keep this feeling until we're ninety."

Jiang Ruolan turned to look at him. "What if I live until ninety-one?"

Xian Zihao: "Strangle you to death!"

Jiang Ruolan: "...."

****

Jiang Ruolan ate too much that night. Even after showering and taking medicine, she still felt that her stomach had not been digested. Xian Zihao was busy replying to an email from Assistant Bai. While he was busy working, Jiang Ruolan took this opportunity to leave their bedroom and went downstairs.

She remembered that there should be a plate of sour plums on the tea table, but she didn't know if eating some sour plums would help her digestive system or not.

When Jiang Ruolan went downstairs, she found Cui Liuxian sitting alone in the quiet living room. She was still wearing the same clothes as when she came back. She was sitting on the sofa with a fruit knife in her hand as she slowly peeled an apple.

Jiang Ruolan paused at the sight of her. She didn't want to meet her face to face, but then she realized that she didn't owe her one, so she didn't need to avoid her, not to mention this was the Xian Family. Jiang Ruolan walked around casually in the living room.

Cui Liuxian stopped to peel off the apple when Jiang Ruolan bent down to pick up a few sour plums from the tea-table. Just as she was about to go upstairs, she heard Cui Liuxian's soft voice behind her, "Nanny Cheng, my stomach is not feeling well. Can you pour me a glass of water, please?"

Jiang Ruolan halted her steps and turned back to look at Cui Liuxian.

Cui Liuxian's eyes were slightly red as if she had cried a lot. She half-closed her eyes while peeling an apple, looking as pitiful and helpless as a child who had been abandoned by everyone.

Seeing that Cui Liuxian regarded herself as Nanny Cheng, Jiang Ruolan sighed. It would be lying if she said she didn't hate her. She was not the Virgin Mary, so she may not be able to get rid of Cui Liuxian's involvement in the kidnapping. But no matter how much Jiang Ruolan hates her, she will never be able to hate her too much.

Everything had a point of view. Jiang Ruolan felt that it was wrong for Cui Liuxian to ruin her marriage, but she (Cui Liuxian) did that because she thought since she grew up with Xian Zihao, she should be the one to marry him.

"Nanny Cheng, you're ignoring me too." Cui Liuxian threw away the peeled apple and said in a low voice, "I have a headache. Can you help me pour a glass of water?"
