My Farm System: Reaching The Top In The Parallel Earth!

It hasn't been that long since Rezen entered the Tryst Academy and he was making swift progress. He thought that in his journey inside the academy, although he would face danger considering his lacking background and the normal struggle for resources, his life would still be relatively peaceful

He didn't expect that in just a few months, the situation would drastically change. As the magic beasts are now focusing on destroying humanity inside the City of Hope, fleeing from the city and becoming a tribesman again might be safer

However, Rezen is unwilling to do that. Resources can be ignored a bit as Rezen can slowly find them outside but for magical knowledge... only the City of Hope has the best of such things!

Small and large tribes might have them but they are definitely far inferior compared to the City's accumulation

"This drafting... it is dangerous and has a high mortality rate but the rewards are also generous. With this, I can infer that the situation is extremely bad but this might not be necessarily a bad thing"

"When danger arrives, prodigies that defied common sense of the normal times are born. The shackles I imposed on myself would lessen"

Rezen said to himself. He might just be a Junior Mage at the 6th cycle and his own power is not even enough to sweep through the Junior Rank but that doesn't mean he was powerless against those at the peak of the rank

If Rezen can freely use the things he stored inside his farm even a hundred peak Junior Mages might not be a problem

"What item should I use to make a name in this time of crisis?" Rezen asked himself, pondering over this question

"Should I use the poison? With its potency and subtlety, I can definitely kill any magic beasts below the Senior Rank"

"This is feasible but I prefer to hide such an ability as it is more suited as a surprise attack"

"I also own thousands of Spirit Plants akin to the cherry bombs I have before and I can easily plant more of them inside the farm but I know the number of magic beasts. Even if I can grow thousands of them every day, that wouldn't be enough. Moreover, it's easy to injure my fellow humans"

Rezen continued to think and one idea after another was thrown by him as he felt that they were not the most suitable one. They are either too high profile and he would not be able to explain their origins or he felt that they were not enough for him to make a name for himself

"The Ghost Berries, they are great. Unfortunately, the Ghosts that they converted cannot exist indefinitely. The Ghost Berries converted the target's physical body into darkness-type mana but the mana is not something that the Ghosts can replenish"

"I can be a one-man army using the Ghost Berries but this is only possible when there is a large-scale battle. I would be strong in large-scale wars but outside of that, I would be weak"

"If only there is a way for the Ghosts transformed by the Ghost Berries to exist indefinitely..."

As Rezen thought of this, a sudden lightning of idea struck him

"Right! Becoming a one-man army through the help of the Ghost Berries is undoubtedly the best thing I could do to make a name. Not to mention, I know that there are some people that has an innate ability to control magic beasts. Hence, it wouldn't be too conspicuous"

"I only have to find a way to make the Ghosts exist permanently or at least for a long period of time!"

The gears of Rezen's brain started to churn as a Ghost Berry appeared on his palm

His idea was great but he still need to think of how he could make his idea become a reality

"Ghost Berries... Darkness-type mana... hmm..." Rezen muttered before his eyes lit up

"Vismian Grass! Vismian Grass can replenish one's mana whether they are magic beasts or humans. It's just that Vismian Grass's mana is pure non-elemental mana. But what if Vismian Grass's mana gained the attribute of darkness?"

Rezen's heart skipped a beat with this thought as already had an idea of how he could do such a thing

"Rezen... I-I'm afraid. Even my honey is unable to prevent me from getting drafted. She was only able to give me more items to protect myself" Treen said with tears gathering at the side of his eyes due to fear

He was living life greatly ever since he arrived in the City of Hope thanks to his sugar mommy. He naturally wouldn't want to lose his life prematurely!

"Don't be too afraid. You are in a supporting role. Just be careful" Rezen said as although the Headmaster was unable to prevent Treen from being drafted it didn't mean that she doesn't have the ability to place him in a safer position

In fact, even Rezen has that choice but he chooses not to accept it. He wants to contribute to this war for more resources whether that be in the form of Spirit Plants or knowledge!

"Sigh... if only I'm as strong and talented as you are" Treen replied with a sigh and Rezen could only shake his head

The drafting process was simple and right now, Rezen and the other students are at the entrance of one of the resource points of the academy

While this is military drafting, in some sense, the order is for the Academies to protect themselves

The crimson gates that spew out magic beasts can appear everywhere. If it's in the middle of the city, it is easier to discover and kill them

However, those that are inside the resource points are different. They can hide and often mobilize the already existing magic beasts there before attacking and causing great damage

As such, the Academies have to strengthen the defense on the border of these resource points

As Rezen's batch is still too weak, they naturally only guarded one of the weak resource points. However, although that was the case, it was not devoid of any danger

After all, magic beasts can sprung everywhere and you wouldn't know their rank unless they appeared. No preparation is bulletproof when it comes to this situation

"Just make sure to always be al—"

Before Rezen could even finish his words; all the hair on his body stood up as he sensed a lot of magic fluctuations. Such a situation can only mean one thing

The magic beasts are attacking already!

Rezen went out of the camp with Treen following behind him and inside a forest-type resource point, they could see thousands of magic beasts coming out

To Rezen's relief, they are only at the Junior Rank with none of them at the Senior Rank

There are few Senior Mages inside the Tryst Academy. Naturally, there are few that can fight against a Senior Beast if ever one appeared

"Protect yourself well" Rezen said before he along with some other mages charged at the magic beasts

The mages in this camp are a mixture of students and other personnel of the Academy. The personnel such as the guards and assistance instructors fared well. They have experience and immediately go out to fight

However, the students who were drafted have different stories. The first reaction that they had was fear and uncertainties

Most of them definitely already fought against magic beasts before but that is mostly one on one battle with the supervision of their families. Totally unlike this situation

The ferocity of the magic beasts causes them to lose their will even before the battle started

Very few of them were able to immediately adjust and aside from Rezen one such person is Porenz

"You filthy beasts, die!!" Porenz roared angrily as she brandished her magic artifacts to attack

She was still angry at these magic beasts for killing her classmates. Aside from her, in her batch only Rezen, Theon, Fiona, and the 'lucky' Quard were able to survive

Only five of them survived! That was such a pitiful number!

Her hatred for the magic beasts was unleashed as she sliced them with her swords

Many in the camp lose their loved ones because of the magic beasts and they also let out their anger

As for Rezen, although he hates magic beasts for disrupting his peace, his hatred for them isn't that deep. But still, he still used his magic to kill them

As of right now, he still hasn't completed the development of the Ghost Berries he envisioned. As such, he can only use his own power to fight

Still, in this resource point, the power of a 6th cycle Deviant Mage is not on the low end. In fact, Rezen is above average when it comes to the cultivation realm as there aren't that many strong individuals here whether that be in the ranks of the magic beasts or humans
