Chapter 154 154. Even More Shocking News 2.
"You're home? That's good. Now turn on the TV and listen attentively to the news,"
Uncle Lucky cut the call right after he said this.
Kevin was even more confused than before. What was on the news that Uncle Lucky wanted him to listen to attentively.
Kevin didn't bother to ponder about this for too much before rushing to turn the TV.
Victoria and everyone else were even more puzzled by what was going on because Kevin's expression suddenly changed right after he answered the call and everyone followed him to the living room to see what he wanted to do.
Kevin turned on the TV and was shocked by what he saw.
"Dad?"
That's right, Kevin saw Max standing in front of the press as he was about to make a statement.
But it doesn't make any sense.
Wasn't Max supposed to be in the hospital?
Then what was he doing here then?
Kevin glanced towards the bottom of the screen to read the news headlines to get a briefing of why Max was having a conference.
<<The Third Richest Man, Max Lannister and current CEO of Maxflix is about to officially announce the sale of his company,>>
Kevin's eyes dilated in shock as he read the headlines.
He couldn't believe what he was reading. He knew how Max works really hard for his company so he found it odd for Max to just decide to sell his company.
But, the important question now is who does he want to sell it to.
Standing beside Max was Christopher Mormon, so one would think Christopher was the one who wanted to obtain full ownership of Max's company but he wasn't the one he intends to sell it to.
Max greeted the press and spoke to the mic in front of him.
"It saddens me to make this announcement, but I am also pleased to announce the new CEO of Maxflix. He is a friend and colleague of mine and I'm certain he has a growing desire to make Maxflix become not only the best entertainment Industry in the City but across all four cities as well,"
" I present to you, the new CEO of Maxflix, Mr. Ned Baratheon, the current Chief commanding officer of Baratheon. Limited,"
"What?!" Amy exclaimed in shock.
"So, the third richest man is selling to the second richest man? But why?" Sasha asked the question on everyone's mind before everyone drifted their gaze back to the screen.
The press bombarded Max with a ton of questions as to why he would suddenly have the desire to do this.
But Max didn't answer any of their questions but instead waved goodbye before leaving the room while Ned Baratheon walked into the room and addressed the audience.
"I'll be back," Kevin tossed the remote he was holding to a sofa nearby before heading to the kitchen
"Kevin wait," Victoria followed right behind him but Kevin didn't listen.
He stepped out of the kitchen and walked out of the backyard before blasting off to the sky in full speed.
Within seconds, a loud bang like a gunshot being fired was heard as Kevin vanished out of sight.
Victoria watched as Kevin suddenly vanishes before her eyes, but she wasn't the only one who witnessed what he did and everyone were equally surprised by what they just witnessed.
"Since when did he learn how to fly?" It was Amy who broke the silence.
___
Kevin flew and aimed straight for his dad company. If he had taken a car to drive all the way there, it would have taken him at least two hours to arrive there but with his ability to fly, it took him five minutes to arrive there.
He was really high up in the sky so that no one could see his figure flying when viewed from below.
When Kevin noticed he was just a few blocks away from his dad's company, he flew down, making sure no one could see him before running to the company.
When Kevin entered, he could see the place was packed with people, both from the press and his Dad's company business partners who demanded an explanation of what was going on as well and why he had suddenly did what he did.
Others were business partners of Ned Baratheon who couldn't wait to commence talk with Ned Baratheon once he was done with his press conference.
Kevin glanced around, trying to be sure if Max was nearby but someone's voice drifted his attention elsewhere.
"Kevin!!"
Uncle Lucky waved his arms, beckoning Kevin to come over to him.
Kevin walked toward him in haste.
"You're fast kiddo. How did you get here so quickly?" Uncle Lucky asked with a surprised look on his face.
He was certain he just called Kevin like fifteen minutes ago, so how did he arrive here so fast from a two hour drive from home.
But Kevin was not in the mood to give an explanation, he went straight to the point and asked. "Where's my dad?"
"He should be heading here from the press conference in a few minutes," Uncle Lucky assures him and Kevin nodded in understanding.
"I've spoken to the secretary and I have introduced myself, so she said we should wait for him in the employees section,"
"I've been here a few times before now, so she recognized my face,"
Uncle Lucky guided them to where they should wait for Max when he enters but as they were walking over there, they suddenly heard a loud sound of footsteps heading towards the entrance door.
It was Max walking into the building with several bodyguards around him.
Each reporter were trying to get Max to answer the questions they had for him but Max wasn't in the mood to answer them.
He was heading straight to the section where only employees could enter and that was the one place the press couldn't get through.
The guards stood in the way of the reporters moving any further.
However, Max wasn't the only one walking, he also had his personal secretary walking right beside him.
She was holding her tablet and reading the schedules Max had planned for the day.
"Max!!!" Someone called from behind him.
