Li Shengxiao walked back to his office, picked up the clothes draped over his chair, and while striding out, he said, “Where are you? I’ll come pick you up!”

Rong Yan glanced at the address and reported it to him.

After hanging up the phone, Li Shengxiao said a quick word to Gu Ming outside and then left.

Having finished the call, Rong Yan returned to Gu Linxi’s side, picked up her bag, and with a face full of guilt, she told Gu Linxi, “Xixi, I might need to leave, we can grab a drink when I have time some other day.”

“So soon?” Gu Linxi saw that she was just leaving after a phone call and couldn’t hide her surprise.

Rong Yan said, looking guilty, “Yeah, I’ve got dinner planned with Little Baby tonight, and it was a last-minute trip this afternoon. I meant to grab a drink with you, but now I’m short on time.”

Gu Linxi, being generous and straightforward by nature, and not one to fuss over small matters, immediately waved her off, “No worries, we’ll have that drink next time. You go ahead if you have plans; I’ve still got unfinished work to sort out anyway.”

Knowing she was referring to the motorcycle she had just tuned, curiosity quickly took over Rong Yan, “That bike looks like KK’s 1987 limited edition. I remember there was a news leak, saying a collector in Capital City bought it. I just can’t remember who it was. Who is it?”

This was the second time today she had asked about the owner of the motorcycle.

However, Gu Linxi, uncharacteristically evasive this time, would only say it belonged to a friend and refused to divulge more.

The more evasive Gu Linxi was, the more Rong Yan felt there was something fishy going on.

“Oh.” Rong Yan blinked, “Wait for me a bit, I’ll hail a taxi and be right over.”

The noodle shop wasn’t far from where she was, and a taxi should get her there in about ten minutes. She planned to get there early to save a spot so they wouldn’t have to wait for a table when they arrived.

Having made up her mind, Rong Yan got ready to end the call, “Li Shengxiao, I’m hanging up. I’ll take a taxi and message you when I get there.”
