Last Egg: Reincarnated as a Dragon in a Game

Chapter 515: Our lord is back!

With just a single thought, the scenery around the dragon changed again—tall concrete skyscrapers stood on the horizon of lush, green plains, and rivers snaked through the seemingly endless greenery, reflecting the sunlight.

During his last visit, there was only concrete, glass, and sand, but now the greenery was everywhere. The change of scenery and the ever-present draconic auras brought a sense of joy to the dragon.

'My minions and kin are still alive and prosperous.'

"Graahh!" Without further delay, he roared, his aura exploding outward with explosive speed, creating waves over the water and the grassy sea. He had announced his return!

He then folded his wings and gently landed on the grass, his powers of gravity dampening the impact. Surveying the land, his gaze pierced far into the distant city.

Countless blue-skinned aliens with reverse-slitted eyes, kobolds, and human dragonkin dropped to their knees on the streets, bowing in his direction with fanaticism. Traffic halted, and passengers exited their vehicles to kneel on the roads.

As far as he could sense, the aliens weren't full-fledged dragonkin—the blood used for their transformation was likely severely diluted.

'Blood used to control an entire civilization. It looks like they already integrated this entire world.'

Soon, flapping wings and howling winds descended from the sky, drawing the dragon's attention. In an emerald streak of light, a dragon with a body covered in glistening emeralds, each engraved with a golden rune, flew toward him. The newly arrived dragon folded her wings and swiftly landed, fluidly transitioning into a deep bow.

'She grew up and likely evolved.' Vesuvius couldn't help but feel joy at the young dragon's growth, noticing her elongated emerald horns, the winds filled with mana enveloping her body like a cloak, and her length from the tip of her snout to the tip of her tail reaching that of at least two trucks lined up.

However, the change brought a burning question to his mind: "How long have I been gone?"

The emerald dragon responded enthusiastically, "It depends on whom you ask. For us, only a bit more than a hundred years have passed, and for the immortals, as far as I know, only a few years."

"So long?" Although a hundred years were nothing to a dragon, in the midst of war, it was enough to change everything. He was eager to see what had become of all his minions, kin, and even Lorenia.

'Well, I will see Lorenia when I bring my armies to conquer. Now, I am glad that I left them all here, where is it safe and away from all the madness back in Lorenia.'

More flapping of wings resonated from a distance, drawing the dragon's attention to the swiftly approaching dragons and wyrms. Among them, he even noticed new true dragons he was sure weren't there before. They were still small compared to the elder and ancient dracowyrms, but their distinct auras betrayed their nature.

'Right, one hundred years was enough for the dragons I spawned to spawn their own offspring.'

Swiftly, all the true and lesser dragons, dracowyrms, and wyrms landed on the green fields, forming a wide half-circle as they bowed to the enormous Vesuvius, who made them all look tiny.

They all instinctively ordered themselves based upon the draconian hierarchy, of their races and ages, the true dragons in the front.

'Huh?! The ancient storm wyrm has become a dragon. Who turned them?' To his shock, he now realized all three new dragons weren't entirely new; instead, they had been transformed.

'Did I accidentally create some new, weird tradition of promoting true dragons?' He didn't feel like it was a bad thing. The current, weakened dragonkind simply didn't have the luxury of raising their children.

His gaze quickly swept through them, comparing them with their previous forms.

The former wyrm crackled with lightning, their entire body seemingly formed of winds, water, clouds, and crackling electricity, not even a single scale visible through their thick elemental cloak.

'Ahh, one of my oldest minions!' He recognized the small dragon radiating darkness from ruby-red scales interwoven with vein-like patterns of red demonic energy.

He felt slightly wrong that his minion had been turned into a dragon without his knowledge, but he could forgive it as he had been gone for a long time, and his kin had to move on. In war, stagnation meant death, and dragons had a long development period.

'This time, as it is war, I will overlook this.'

Finally, Vesuvius glanced at the last of the new dragons.

(AN: Haha, as for the third new dragon, I will let you pick! Write in comments who you want, and then I will look through them and pick.)

POV Void:

The Void stirred from its slumber. It tried to sink back into the abyss of nonexistence, craving the absence of sensation and thought. Yet, something stirred it again.

Reluctantly, the Void extended its perception, reaching across the layers of reality. There, a tiny dragon, a part and kin of its younger sibling was ascending, its body unable to fully evolve without energy.

Void knew Genesis would never allow something like that to happen. Yet, it couldn't feel Genesis trying to help. It couldn't fathom what had happened that Genesis wasn't there as usual.

Seeing that, Void acknowledged the necessity of its intervention. It gathered the swirling, weightless, colorless, presenceless energy of its essence weaving it into a stream heading toward the dragon.

'Void Dragon will be born.' It had to admit, that the creation of the new hybrid race made it a bit curious.

As their senses expanded, it couldn't pick up any signs of the presence of its younger siblings, only the children and vassals of its siblings had a small scuffle.

The void sensed deeper, piercing through even more layers of existence—then the entire emptiness visible shook. The celestial energy of Genesis and the purity energy of Purity were spilled like blood, seemingly dispersed everywhere.

Void stirred even further, knowing its younger siblings were injured.

With a resolve, the Void decided, 'I must investigate.'
