"Ding!"
"Detected that the chakra system of this ninja world has emerged within the Host. Beginning analysis..."
"World coordinates confirmed, initiating system boot..."
"1%, 2%, 3%..."
"99%, 100%!"
"Greetings Dear Host, the Healer's Benevolence System has been installed and will serve you dutifully!"
Colt: ...
He had accepted living an ordinary life, yet a system had suddenly appeared?
And it's a very simplistic system, with no real intelligence behind it.
Just some basic programmed responses.
After studying it for a bit, he roughly grasped the system's function.
The "Healer's Benevolence" title implied some relation to medical ninjutsu and healing others.
And that was indeed the case.
Whenever Colt used the system's healing technique to treat someone else's injuries, he could randomly extract their abilities - chakra natures, ninjutsu, or even rare bloodline limits.
Repeated extraction of the same ninjutsu would convert it to experience points boosting his proficiency.
Moreover, he also had a chance to accumulate "Benevolence Points" which could purchase goods from the system's store.
The probabilities and extraction amounts depended on the patient's identity, status, and overall strength.
Browsing the store, any ability or item native to this ninja world could essentially be purchased with points:
[Complete Ten-Tails: 100k Points]
[Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan: 20,000 points (Each)]
[Tenseigan: 20,000 points (Each)]
[Rinnegan: 30,000 points (Each)]
(Editor/Note: The author keeps messing numbers and I fixed this to something logical at least, but this might end up not being accurate in the future, you know how Chinse authors are with numbers)
From the godly Six Paths abilities down to basic ninjutsu, all the powers of this world were available via points.
At the very end was a final note - after reaching Six Paths level strength, even more advanced options would unlock.
Colt nearly drooled looking at the potential selections.
However, his currently paltry point balance served as a sobering reminder of his modest beginnings.
Was this system trying to push him toward becoming a skilled medic?
The ninja world was never lacking in battles, with scores of shinobis retiring each year due to crippling injuries.
It could be said that with this system, Colt merely needed to work at a hospital for some years, gradually extracting abilities, and he would inevitably become a Kage-level powerhouse.
That way, even during the events of the Fourth Great Ninja War, so long as he avoided the front lines, he could ensure his survival.
With luck, it wouldn't be impossible to obtain Six Paths tier abilities.
In which case...he could really shake things up!
"Let's test the system's capabilities first..."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Thinking pragmatically, Colt picked up a stray kunai lying about.
He took a deep breath and pointed it toward his arm.
Shink!
Bright red blood welled from the self-inflicted wound on his arm as he grimaced in pain. "Heal!"
A shroud of green chakra enveloped his palm.
In less than a second, the bleeding stopped and the injury closed, leaving unblemished skin behind.
If not for the blood staining his arm, one wouldn't have known he had just suffered a wound.
"Whoa!"
"This medical ninjutsu is pretty potent!"
Colt remarked in surprise.
He didn't know the principle behind it, but the system's healing technique was chakra-based.
Like the more advanced Mystic Palm Technique, yet consumed an almost negligible amount
of chakra.
So little that he didn't even feel the expenditure.
But...
"System, I can heal others well enough. But what about extracting abilities and earning points after I healed myself?"
System: ...
Fortunately, it lacked true intelligence. If it did, the system would likely be cursing his
mother right now.
It had seen users exploiting loopholes before, but never someone stabbing THEMSELVES to
try extracting abilities!
This Host's tactics were really something else...
"Ding!"
"Host healed himself, gaining +0.3 Physical Fitness"
"Thank you for discovering this bug. You will not gain points or extract abilities from self-
healing in the future."
"Rewarding Host with a Novice Supply Pack!"
Now it was Colt's turn to fall silent.
Did he just get played?
Not only was the bug fixed, but he got a mere starter pack as compensation for pointing it out.
What a rip-off system!
After inwardly cursing it out for a while and seeing that the system didn't respond further,
Colt could only give up.
"Open my attribute panel and the novice pack for me then."
It was subsequently opened and placed in his inventory.
A high-tech display appeared before his eyes:
[Name: Colt]
[Age: 4 years old]
[Constitution: 5.3]
[Spirit: 10.4]
[Chakra: 1.5 (Note: Standard Genin levels are 10)]
[Skill: Chakra Control Level 1 (1/100)]
[Chakra Natures: Wind, Lightning]
[Inventory: Senju Clan Awakening Potion]
[Overall Rating: Not Worth Rating]
It was...rather appalling.
Besides decent spiritual energy, likely due to being a reincarnated soul, his stats barely
reached fresh genin level.
His physical fitness and chakra reserves were especially lacking.
What constituted a "standard" genin?
By current academy graduation requirements, one had to demonstrate basic mastery of the
Three Ninja Tool skills.
For example, Sakura upon graduating could do little besides perfect chakra control theory.
Barely able to properly perform a basic Clone Technique.
Fortunately, the Novice Supply Pack provided a saving grace.
With a thought, a vial of azure liquid appeared in Colt's grasp. He drank it without hesitation.
The Wood Release bloodline of the Senju clan, descended from Asura Otsutsuki, son of the Sage of Six Paths himself.
It was also the very same vaunted lineage as the First Hokage Hashirama, the untouchable
"God of Shinobi."
Of course, simply awakening the Senju DNA didn't mean Colt would become another
Hashirama in power or get the wood release.
The standard Senju bloodline merely granted more robust vitality and greatly enhanced
chakra reserves compared to most ninjas.
Whereas Hashirama was a uniquely pure person with Wood Release, nearly peerless.
Even so, for Colt's current modest level, it was enough of a boost.
Feeling the drastic difference flood his very cells, Colt looked upon his updated status:
[Name: Colt]
[Age: 4 years old]
[Constitution: 9.5]
[Spirit: 11.4]
[Chakra: 11.5 (Note: Standard Genin levels are 10)]
Outrageous - simply awakening his Senju heritage boosted his physical fitness and chakra
volume tremendously.
He was nearly on par with newly graduated students already.
As expected of the clan that long feuded with the Uchiha, their powers were indeed fearsome.
Colt sighed silently to himself, then headed outside to the courtyard training area.
Though he had the system's blessings, he couldn't slack off - consistent daily training remained essential.
Not necessarily to increase his capabilities from this point, but to engrain his body's
newfound potential.
Some said a system determined the lower limits, with personal effort deciding one's ceiling.
'Bullshit!'
In a world of literal ninja magic, what use was simple human effort?
With access to this system's options, his hard work would simply allow him to properly
capitalize on his new abilities.
It didn't alter his overall limits whatsoever.
So, take all that motivational self-help with a grain of salt.
