Chapter 985 Childish innocence
[OP: ]
A festival was held in the great academy and the news of that festival was spread throughout the world, to all three continents, and to all the important people of this world knew about it.
And they would have gone to see what this unique festival was all about with the news of the appearance of masterpieces going around, however, many of them could not go to the academy.
Their landing permits were discreetly declined so, some who had an understanding of the happenings around the world knew something else was also happening on the island of magic's wealth.
However, they did not know what exactly was happening there even after the event had concluded and a few days had passed.
They had no idea why they couldn't go to that exciting festival which had not one or two but twelve new masterpieces, some of which were now in the process of evaluation by the experts who had initially declared all twelve a set, which had a combined value that far exceeded the yearly budget of a normal kingdom.
They were one of a kind and they were special. Additionally, since it was decided that not all of them would be put in the same place and would be scattered across the world, those who held real money were now in the bidding process to obtain the
remaining pieces for which the academy hadn't yet decided the destination of.
One fact that these pieces were going to be very costly was now known by all the people, rich or not, all around the world.
And, one of those rich individuals, the master of Farom merchant alliance, the owner of Hiraani and the countess of Roxanna was also contemplating how she could make a profit out of this competition.
"Ohh! Ohhh! That's big brother~!"
She was at the Heliox estate, in her personal office, with her little angel, reading through a newspaper that finally had the photo of her baby boy, as well as her daughter-in-law.
"Look mommy! He's with a pretty bee~!"
Anna was with her, and since they weren't working today, she was showing her something that she knew this little girl was going to find quite fun.
"Remember I told you about the special honeybees of the academy? About that special honey you love?"
She had a fun smile on her face as she showed her a picture in a book that was placed right before her desk.
"That small looking bee is actually the queen of all those special bees that live in the biiiig garden of the academy.
Ah, she's also quite a nice lady."
"Hmm? Mom? You've met her as well?!"
"On three occasions until now, yes. Though, she wasn't a friend of mine, or someone I had a close relationship with, for that matter."
There were a bunch of newspapers on one side of her desk while on the other side rested a bunch of personal reports that she had obtained about this festival that happened in the academy.
In the middle of the desk was a big book with a good amount of knowledge, and resting right beside this book was a pen that Anna and Eon both were well familiar with.
"So, does that mean big brother and sister Elle are friends with the Queen of the honeybees?"
There were stars in her eyes. Just the fact that her mom and elder siblings had met such a cool looking creature excited her to a next level.
"It seems to be the case from how well they were while talking with her.
If not friendship, I can at least tell for sure that they have some kind of unique relationship with each other."
She knew about her son and Bee Queen's past interaction, but what they actually did was not something that he told her either.
Every time she asked him about the bees or the Queen, he would either change the subject or just tell her he cannot hear much about their relationship since it was more work related than personal.
And, in this nation or the continent, there were only a few people who would know how to not mix the work and one's personal life like the golden demoness.
"They are so cool, mommy."
She was reading the headlines of today's sixth newspaper that was talking about the festival of the academy, and she was reading about her big brother for the first time ever since before this, aside from his friends who had been to their house before, the two of them had never been in the papers.
Even something about Carla and Alf was featured every once in a while, but, this was the first time the secret name of Lucifer and Uriel which her big brother and sister Elle had for their academy lives had ever come up in any newspapers.
"It says the [Famous duo of the great academy, the house captain and vice captain of two of the leading houses, were the Real deal all along.] without talking about their coolness, mommy.
These people don't know how to write!"
She was upset since the headlines of the newspaper didn't say anything about them and was simply framing them as something unique.
Everyone already knew who the house captains and vice captains were, and how they were great at leading their houses, so putting an emphasis on that wasn't really needed.
Yet they were doing it as if they were doing something great, and that too when saying nothing about how amazing they actually were.
"The whole article just talks about some stuff that the other students told them about big brother and sister Elle, and how they lead their houses.
They are using the photo of the Queen of the bees and yet they don't even give a passing mention of their amazingness?"
Anna was an amazing reader. Her eye for the details was just like her big brother's while her criticism of the wrongness of various media articles was even sharper than his mom's.
"And look! They say "They are an UPCOMING competition to the existing great individuals!" without saying anything about their actual skills! They really don't know how to write things about people they know little about like they do with How Amazing the masterpieces their classes had created were!"
She wasn't angry right now. She was simply disappointed that they didn't write it as well as they could have while showing just how amazing her big brother actually was!
All the papers that she had read until now had very well written articles about all the other things that had happened in the academy's festival.
She didn't read these papers often but now that she was doing it with her mom, she was happy to see so many well written things.
However, though the one they were reading right now had done a great job with the other things, it was as if they didn't know even a little about how amazing her big brother and sister were.
She didn't understand why they didn't even talk about Celes and Branwen when both of them are in the picture that's on the front page of the paper!
And, the worst thing about this whole article was their phrasing!
"Why did they do this, mama? It could have been so much better…"
She knew how Eon and Elle didn't want the world to know much about them since they were disguised and all, so she was well aware how much the other people knew about Lucifer and Uriel.
She wasn't disappointed because the article had written anything wrong, but simply because how they had downgraded everything about both of them.
It was almost as if they were trying to create a negative image of the two through their refined way of wording things.
And, she simply didn't like that.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
"Anna."
This upset behaviour of hers was the reflection of her still childish innocence.
"There are some things in this world that are a lot more complicated than any of us think… like the media and politics."
She kissed her little daughter's head and turned the page of the paper.
"You will figure it out soon enough so I won't tell you why they would have done that. It is pretty simple, but at the same time, it is also not something everyone understands."
The rest of the paper had the other things but as she flipped through the pages with Anna, neither of them found anything that could be fun to read.
It was simply filled with normal things and they didn't want more normal things when they had another pile of newspapers ready to relight before them.
"There are people who say bad things that are obviously good, and there are people who exaggerate things that are pretty simple."
She was teaching her, this wasn't a simple fun pass time for either of them.
"Remember one thing, Anna."
While picking up the next paper, she whispered in Anna's ears.
"Some people just don't like it when some people are doing well. You'll find these kinds of people many times in your life."
There were all kinds of people in this world. She knew Anna knew that better than most others thanks to her special skills.
"They are fragile most of the time, so don't ever worry about them or what they have to say."
A new paper and this one also had the same photo of her big brother with the bee queen as the previous one from a little different angle.
However, unlike the first one, this one was filled with compliments and exactly what Anna wanted to read about her brother.
"When you meet these people and don't want to deal with them, just tell them to piss off and go on with your work."
This was a life lesson to her.
"Hmmm… alright mama."
She was going to remember this for a long time. Longer than Nolan was expecting, certainly.
