Chapter 982 Under the magical fireworks
[OP: ]
The colourful sky filled with countless colours of diverse origins.
The pristine sky of the great academy was covered in countless mesmerising colours on this fine night of the first festival.
There were magical explosions covering the entire sky, there were colours, there were lights, and all of this was so mesmerising that everyone looking at this scene was simply stunned, their eyes fixed on the big explosions happening above.
-Booom!
-Shrrrr…Nôv(el)B\\jnn
It was night time.
The sun had set down the horizon and the moonlight had graced all the individuals present in this garden.
Everyone was looking upwards. There was awe in the colourful eyes turned to the vast sky upwards.
It was… simply marvellous.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look~!"
There were fireworks filling the sky and along with them, there were also various colourful and glowing creatures that had started flying around this vast sky.
"Haha, yes yes dear. Aren't they gorgeous?"
"Yesssss~!"
Magical birds, creatures that could control Mana, creatures that were an important part of this garden and this island, creatures- familiars- that were brought here by the various gusts that had come here.
The familiars of the famous seniors and teachers especially was a sight that someone couldn't possibly ignore.
-Shrrrrrrrrrrr…
They filled the beautiful sky adored with jewel-like magical fireworks, giving an even greater impression of this unique festival.
"This is the great academy, alright."
The younger children who were still too young for the academy couldn't help their awe as they looked at this magical phenomenon.
Various teachers were present in the sky as well, beside the amazing magical creatures that these children had only ever heard about in the stories and books.
For some, this was their first time experiencing something so… pretty.
For the others, this was a nostalgic experience that reminded them of the previous times that they had experienced this amazing sight.
These creatures, these glowing, shining, pretty creatures were not simply energy beasts. They were beings that were closely connected with this academy, creatures that belonged with people who were closely connected with people who were connected with the academy.
"I want to attend this school as well, father."
Children who looked at these magical explosions born from the complex magical spells cast by the teachers, explosions born from pure Aura of some of the finest knights of this world.
"You should surely attend it, little one. I know you'll have fun here."
The great academy was open to each and every student that wanted to learn about anything at all.
Everyone was welcome to give the entrance exam regardless of their background, their beliefs, or their past.
As long as they possessed a desire to learn here, and abilities and potential to back it up, they were granted admission here.
The entrance exam is the start of their academic life, and their graduation after three years is the end for most of their academic career.
Some people find a place to work after they come out with all the knowledge, all the right skills that would help them in any field that they had been interested in for their entire three years here.
For very few, this academy would become a workplace, while those who go to various places around the world to find their own place, this academy becomes the Island of memories that houses them in times of turbulence.
The memories that they make here, the things that they learn, and the person that they become after various experiences is something… precious.
"Haaaa."
Seeing these amazing fireworks, these pretty creatures in the sky, seeing the artificial creations that flew alongside these magical beasts, the mixture of fantasy and technology one felt was beyond simple.
It was breathtaking…
Against the bright blue moon in the sky, it was simply breathtaking.
"Quin?"
"Ah, it's nothing. I just… remembered a few things."
For Quin who had spent most of her life on an island with her grandfather, being with Chry, Tia, Med and all the friends she had made here was a unique experience.
When she came here, she never thought she would have so many fun friends or how she would watch such wonderful things with them.
She remembered her first day here, the orientation that they had right after they arrived on the island.
She remembered meeting Lucifer and Uriel, she remembered her first time with her house, with the other house captains.
She remembered how they had their first lunch together, and she remembered the first time she met Chry.
"Not long ago, we were complete strangers."
She looked at all her friends who were present there, and remembered the faces of the ones who weren't there at the moment.
She had made quite a lot of friends and she had done a lot of fun things that she had never even thought were possible.
She didn't even know the common language that everyone spoke here. And yet, now she was someone with such amazing people around her… something that she always thought was only possible because of Lucifer and Uriel… because of Eon and Elle.
"Hey! Everyone~! Look~! That's a freaking dragon!"
"It's a Wyrm, Tia. The dragons are different."
"That's a dragon! Hmph!"
Tia, the centre of their female circle, and Hide, a fun person who hasn't had a lot of opportunities to fool around since he came to this academy.
He was a vice captain, and he was a wizard. But, until he came here and met all these people, people who were much better in all the things that he had believed he was superior at, he never had to actually put any effort into anything.
He was good at anything that was taught to him, he was strong, he had a long lifespan as a wizard, he was praised as a prodigy by the world, and he had all the riches and power that anyone would want.
People were naturally attracted to him because of his unique charm, so he had never put in any effort into anything.
Everything was easy for him… at least, until he received that silver star on his chest instead of the golden one that Tia, Quin, or Lizzy had.
He was not amazing. He was not exceptional, and he certainly wasn't someone that could achieve the pinnacle with the mindset that he previously had.
Certainly not when his competition was someone like Tia, someone like Captain Alpha, someone like Lucifer and Zoe.
He was only a frog in a well. There was a vast world out there, filled with individuals who could crush him anytime they wanted.
And, he had only understood that after he came here, and spent time with all these people who, despite their highly superior abilities, put more effort into things that they wanted to achieve than anyone else he had met.
"Pretty, right?"
He only wanted to spend time with some women and fool around, but seeing what Lucifer and Uriel had, what Ginger and Jen had, what Alf and Bell will have, and what Alph and Ezra found… he was jealous.
"Yeah…"
He also wanted something like that. Not just a bunch of women to spend his nights with.
And he wouldn't have understood that until he came here.
In this academy.
This amazing academy, that could also have a night so colourful it even filled his blank life for the time being.
-Buzzzzzz…
And this firework filled sky wasn't all there was to this night.
"Mommy! Mommy! Look!!!"
This was the final moments of the great festival that was held in the name of the founding fathers for perhaps the first time.
So…
-Buzzzzzz!
-Buzzzzzzz~!
-Buzzzzzzz…
The residents of this academy who have been living here since a long, long time ago, couldn't possibly miss these amazing moments.
{ "Seems like there are more people around this time." }
Especially the individual that had been present here longer than even the headmasters of the academy.
"Woh! Woh! Hey~! Look at that~!"
A bright light born from a small honeybee surrounded by hundreds of other bees appeared out of the blue, attracting all the attention away from the fireworks.
They were all blue.
The bigger ones around the smaller ones were darker blue, while the lighter blue were smaller but more dangerous (adorable) looking.
The light blue were surrounding a certain pure blue honeybee that was the smallest of them all… however, it was also the most important creature for this entire academy garden.
{ "Huhu, seems like Merlin wanted a big show." }
She was the queen.
The crowned ruler who maintained the entire great garden, the hundreds of creatures within it, as well as the outer academy walls which also housed various beings.
{ "Oh! Hey there you two." }
She was attending by the end, but the festival was still ongoing, so she wasn't late.
And just the fact that she had come out of her house, made this festival an even more important event than many other events of the academy.
{ "Huhu, you two seem worried. What's going on?" }
She knew everything that was happening in this academy, as well as most of the things happening over this island.
As a (Purple) crowned creature, she also wasn't simply an energy beast.
She was a mother, a master, and someone that one couldn't just look directly at.
Her mere presence in this colour filled sky was akin to a second moon, a moon so close that some were even blinded by its pure light.
"Ah… it's nothing, my lady."
But, even as this second moon stopped before two seemingly normal young individuals with its army of hundreds, the two simply gazed right at this bright star.
They were calm in the face of a boundlessly powerful unique being…
The reporters watching this couldn't possibly understand how such a thing was even possible.
