Infinite Potential System

Chapter 103: Celestial Title, Domain?

How did I forget to use my Potential Points earlier? William slapped himself mentally.

POTENTIAL POINTS: 6571

Barely half a day had passed since he entered the Gravitas Ruins, which would only be a few hours on the outside, but William wasn't going to take it easy just because of that. He needed to secure as many trial rewards as he could before the closure of the Ruins, since this was the only truly safe place on the Continent right now.

The moment William returns from the Ruins, all of his rewards would be taken away by the Sect Master. He wasn't about to let that happen!

William's body was overwhelmed with the introduction of many new elements. His blood started to boil, then he was pressed to the ground by an overwhelming gravitational pull. His clothes were ripped to shreds and his fingertips were sliced off by the sharpness of the Space Element.

When the Time Element was introduced, his hair grew a bit lighter, and William felt he had aged a year. He checked his status to find out he truly had aged and was now 21 years old!

His ears bled as a powerful soundwave entered his eardrums but was quickly healed by his natural regeneration. The Seal Element didn't damage William, but he felt completely unable to move or think, as if he was in a Confinement Array. Over an hour passed in this state before William regained control of his body.

The Curse Element filled William's brain with heavy negative emotions, much like when he acquired the Necromancy Affinity. His body filled with impurities, causing William to throw up a large amount of black blood.

Finally, the hell was over. William blinked a few times and checked his System Panel to evaluate his new Magic Talents. He earned 7 this time, meaning he was only 6 Magic Talents away from upgrading the Manamatus Title. The only question was, how many Elements did he actually have left to learn?

He could only think of one after looking at Atticus, which meant there were still five Elements he hadn't come into contact with.

There's only one way to find out! System, purchase 6 Random Magic Talents!

This wave of Magic Talents was surprisingly tame. The Blessing Element filled William's body with strength, while the Summoning Element had no discernible effect.

The Illusion Element pulled his mind into what appeared to be a separate dimension, but he didn't have a chance to inspect it clearly before the Dream Element put William directly to sleep.

He didn't wake up until a few hours later, noticing that his hand had turned a charcoal black, probably from the Death Element. His Regeneration Talent couldn't heal the damage, and only the Life Element could reverse the effect.

There was only one more Element to unlock, so William focused entirely on that.

The Order Element didn't hurt William, but an ominous feeling washed over him. Something told William that upgrading his Order Affinity would bring him a great deal of trouble. He scrolled through the System messages, his eyes widening at each consecutive message.

TEN THOUSAND POINTS!? William couldn't believe his eyes. He didn't want to do the math, so he looked at the System Panel.

POTENTIAL POINTS: 17715

As expected, waiting to Cultivate until the Manamatus Title was upgraded was a good idea. William would have started Cultivating now, but he wanted to wait until he was about to leave the Gravitas Ruins.

Some trials would be more difficult depending on your Cultivation, which is the main reason why William was the best candidate for clearing a specific trial that Sect Master Gu pointed out.

He looked at his other Talents.

I think it's about time for an S-Rank Talent, but which should I go for first?

William evaluated his strengths and weaknesses. His attack power was approaching the Nascent Soul Realm, and his Speed was the same. His defensive ability with the Forcefield was probably already in the Nascent Soul, and trade skills were unimportant right now.

The Manamatus Talent improved the strength of his Magic quite a bit, so William decided to stick to his roots.

System, upgrade my Fire Affinity.

An intense wave of fire engulfed William's body. Instead of becoming charred, his skin began melting, as if he was soaked in lava. Even the Hard Skin Talent couldn't keep up with the damage from the upgrade.

His Regeneration Talent tried to heal the damage caused, but even that couldn't quite keep up. William used the Life and Water Elements to their maximum, finally stabilizing his body.

The process continued for three hours, his body still smoldering by the time the upgrade was finished. William would have passed out from the pain if not for the Mind Talent, keeping him conscious until the very last moment.

"Fuck, I should have upgraded my Regeneration or even the Life Element first!" William hadn't upgraded the Fire Element in so long that he forgot how life-threatening it was. He could only imagine what it would be like to upgrade a destructive element like the Death Element to S-Rank.

Could he even survive something like that?

William tested out the effects of his newly upgraded Fire Affinity. Just before he created a fireball, something in William's mind clicked. He opened his arms wide as if going in for a big hug, while a raging inferno formed in the cavern ahead of him.

The flames twisted and stretched into the sky, threatening to devour the ceiling above. It had become a flaming tornado, but William didn't feel any heat when he approached. Even when he touched the flames, there was no burning sensation, as if William was completely immune.
