Chapter 2118: Date with Kaori and Olivia ⑦
At first, there was a small incident, though it was undoubtedly due to Olivia-san's misunderstanding, that led to us feeding each other bites of food. Other than that, the meal proceeded without issue.
Being a popular restaurant, all the dishes were delicious. The menu was vegetable-centric, giving it a healthy vibe that likely appeals to women. Just in case, I endured the embarrassment of informing her in advance that I disliked bell peppers, so no dishes containing them were served. I was able to enjoy the meal without any problems.
[So, by the way, what's the plan for after lunch?]
I don’t know much about today’s date plan. I’d heard we were going to enjoy some window shopping in the morning, but I don’t know the details for the afternoon.
I don’t think we’ll just continue shopping, so I’m guessing it’ll be something like watching a play or listening to music.
Olivia-san took the lead in planning this date, with Kaori-san giving her various pieces of advice. Naturally, Olivia-san has no prior dating experience, and from the way things have been so far, it doesn’t seem like Kaori-san has much experience in this area either.
With that in mind, I’m guessing we'll be sticking to some classic activities. Perhaps a play or music performance…… If there’s a notable sightseeing spot unique to this town, that could also be an option.
This town, with its red-brick architecture, would look great at sunset, so I imagine we’ll visit a scenic spot in the evening. Then, just as night falls, we’ll have dinner———— something like that?
[As for the plan, we’ll be watching a play in the afternoon.]
[I see, a play huh…… Is there something particularly notable showing right now?][Unn. A very popular theater troupe is performing in this town. There have been feature articles about them in magazines and such.]
[Hehh, that sounds exciting. It’s been a while since I’ve seen a play, so I’m looking forward to it. Do you often watch plays, Olivia-san?]
In this world, there are no movies. Well, they might emerge if image reflection magic tools become more widespread, but at the moment, such things don’t exist.
Plays and music performances are standard date activities. As Kaori-san mentioned, popular theater troupes are often heavily featured in magazines.
[I have watched theatrical performances, like the Creation Story during the Festival of Heroes. That one is held at the ceremony venue leading to the Cathedral…… Other than that, I haven’t seen much. However, the reference materials I consulted stated that appreciating a play is a classic date activity. When I consulted Mizuhara Kaori-san, she strongly recommended a romantic-themed play, so I decided on that.]
[Ah, no, I don’t think…… I recommended it that strongly…… Uh, well…… I do really like that kind of thing, so maybe I got a bit carried away in recommending it……]
Somehow, it feels like Kaori-san, much like Alice, seems to have a longing for classic romantic situations.
Unlike Alice, who makes it very obvious, there was a subtle happiness in Kaori-san's demeanor earlier when we fed each other food, as if she was thrilled to experience a scenario she had idealized.
Maybe that’s why she’s so fond of romantic plays and the like. As for me, when it comes to romantic plays…… the last one I saw was with Dr. Vier, wasn’t it? If it’s adventure-themed plays, I remember watching one with Shiro-san during Hydra Kingdom's Founding Festival.
[How about you, Kaori-san, do you often go to see plays?]
[H- Hmm…… That’s a tough question. I really love them, but going to those kinds of things alone feels a little awkward, so it’s only occasionally…… I once invited Akane-san to go with me, but she said, "No way, I can’t stand romantic stuff, it makes me all itchy and uncomfortable"……]
[Ah, that does sound like something she’d say.]
Akane-san is definitely that type. Even if she were on a date, it feels like she’d prefer a straightforward outing, like shopping or sightseeing, rather than the typical romantic scenarios.n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
As we continued talking about plays with Olivia-san and Kaori-san, I took a bite of the dessert that marked the end of our lunch.
<Afterword>
Serious-senpai : [Watching a play, that's certainly a classic but…… what kind of development are they aiming for? Normally, in this kind of situation, the cliché is for their hands to accidentally touch, causing a moment of heart-pounding tension. But they're already holding hands while walking around the city, so…… H- Hmm, I don't get it. Olivia gets flustered and embarrassed easily, but her boldness is incredible, so I feel like she might try something unexpected.] 𐍂
