Chapter 407 Forced to Tactical Nuke the Guardian, Waiting for Cooldown

After Stark revived, gasping for air as the last tendrils of death left his body, he wasted no time.

The cold, crushing depths of the abyss around him felt suffocating, but survival was all that mattered now.

His body surged upward through the pitch-black water, the suit clinging to his form enhancing every stroke.

He pushed himself harder, faster, desperate to escape the gaping maw of the abyss below.

Every muscle in his body screamed with exhaustion, but he didn't care.

The abyss wasn't empty.

Thalveros' voice thundered from below, a guttural roar that shook Stark's very core.

"YOU THINK YOU CAN ESCAPE, CHOSEN? YOUR FATE IS SEALED!"

With a flick of his wrist, his [Sculk Necklace] activated.

From the strange relic, a surge of slime-like liquid burst forth, forming a protective barrier around him.

The water around him trembled as distant tendrils of Thalveros' fury lashed out, but the barrier absorbed most of the impact.

Stark clenched his teeth as each hit felt like a battering ram against his body. The barrier wasn't going to last long.

"I won't win like this," Stark muttered under his breath.

His crimson eyes burned with determination, but he knew the truth.

His arsenal of skills wouldn't be enough. Not against this. Not against him.

Stark knew he wouldn't win without "IT".

"I guess I'll just have to wait 24 hours in the rift," he groaned, bitterness dripping from his voice.

He glanced up toward the narrow passage that led out of this watery grave, his only hope of escape.

Then he froze.

"Wait a minute... is he getting... closer?!"

His voice cracked slightly as the realization hit.

Thalveros wasn't waiting for him to escape. The Abyssal Sentinel was ascending.

Stark's eyes widened as he watched the shadows far below shift and writhe.

The darkness itself seemed to churn, and then he saw them: Thalveros' glowing yellow eyes.

They burned like twin suns in the void, growing larger and closer with every passing second.

Yes, Stark was right, Thalveros was so mad and enraged that he was starting to climb from the abyss, slowly but surely taking over.

In less than a minute, he would be high enough to where he stopped Stark completely from leaving, and a bit more and he would be crushed or eaten.

Thalveros' roar echoed through the chamber, shaking the water and Stark's very soul.

"YOU CAN'T ESCAPE ME, CHOSEN! I'LL DRAG YOU INTO THE ABYSS AND DEVOUR YOU PIECE BY PIECE!"

Stark's heart pounded in his chest.

But then, something shifted. A spark of defiance ignited in Stark's eyes.

"YOU CAN'T BEAT ME!"

"No..." he murmured, a grin creeping across his face. "But he can."

Without hesitation, Stark snapped his fingers.

The motion was deliberate, filled with resolve.

"HEAVEN'S SPEAR!"

Above him, reality itself seemed to tear apart.

A massive rift opened high above the cavern ceiling, splitting the water and stone as if the heavens themselves had descended.

From within the rift emerged an angelic figure, an ethereal colossus whose sheer presence radiated divine power.

Its form was impossible to comprehend fully, stretching nearly 50 kilometers in height.

The angel's body shimmered with celestial crimson light, and its eyes burned with an intensity that pierced through the abyss.

With a slow, deliberate motion, the angel raised its hand, summoning an immense spear of pure energy.

The spear was so large it defied reason.

But something was wrong.

Stark's grin faltered as he looked up at the rift.

The angel... wasn't there.

"What...?" Stark's voice was a whisper, tinged with confusion and dread.

"HAHAHA!" Thalveros' laughter boomed through the chamber, a cruel, mocking sound.

"FOOL! AND HERE I THOUGHT YOU WERE ABOUT TO UNLEASH SOMETHING WORTH FEARING!"

Stark's mind raced, his thoughts spiraling into chaos.

Of course, the angel was there, it was just that Stark couldn't see it.

"Why isn't it working?! Did I mess up the activation? Is it because we're underwater?! Or is it the rift?! Dammit, what's happening?!"

The pressure in the chamber grew unbearable as Thalveros continued his ascent, his massive form nearing the exit.

Stark's eyes darted between the rift above and the monster below. Time was running out.

Then, a golden panel appeared before him, its shimmering text cutting through the chaos.

[Aren't you going to ask me to shoot?]

Stark blinked, momentarily stunned. "You're here?! Where the hell are you?!"n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om

[My form is too large for this cavern,] the angel replied, its tone calm and almost amused. [I'm above. Just give the order.]

Relief flooded through Stark, followed quickly by determination.

"ALRIGHT!" he shouted, his voice echoing through the chamber. "ANGEL OF THE SPEAR, SHOOT THAT BASTARD WITH ENOUGH POWER TO KILL HIM!"

The moment he heard that, Thalveros' ascent halted abruptly.

For the first time, Stark saw uncertainty flicker in the monster's glowing eyes.

"What do you mean, human—"

He didn't get to finish.

The ceiling of the cavern erupted in a blinding light as the angel's spear descended.

The colossal weapon tore through the rock and water with unimaginable force, its sheer size and speed warping the environment.

The water itself seemed to scream as the spear plummeted toward its target, leaving a trail of searing crimson energy in its wake.

Stark didn't wait to see the impact.

"Invincible Dodge!" he shouted, activating his skill repeatedly.

His body phased through the chaotic currents as he swam frantically toward the exit.

He didn't have time to think, to look back.

His revives and healing were spent, if he got caught in the explosion, it was over.

The spear was about to strike.

Thalveros roared, his voice a mix of rage and desperation.

"I'VE EATEN THINGS MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN THIS!" he bellowed, opening his massive maw wide enough to engulf the spear.

But... that was his biggest mistake.

For a moment, it seemed as though he might succeed.

The spear disappeared into the gaping abyss of his mouth, swallowed whole.

Then, everything changed once it reached his stomach.

The spear detonated.

From within Thalveros' stomach, an explosion of pure, concentrated energy erupted.

The force was overwhelming, tearing through his body from the inside out.

His scales, once impenetrable, shattered like glass.

His monstrous form convulsed as the energy consumed him, disintegrating every fiber of his being.

-99,999,999!

The number flashed before Stark's eyes, a grim testament to the power of the attack.

Thalveros didn't even have time to scream.

Ding!

[You have slain "Thalveros" and gained 150,000,000 experience points!]

His body dissolved into nothingness, leaving behind only a faint shimmer of energy that quickly faded into the depths.

The shockwave from the explosion rippled through the chamber, shaking the very foundations of the rift.

Stark felt the currents battering against him as he swam, but the reduced force, thanks to the fact Thalveros ate it, spared him from the worst of it.

Finally, he emerged into the main chamber, gasping for air, though he knew he wouldn't get any.

His eyes immediately locked onto the massive golden door before him.

The door glowed softly, its intricate carvings illuminated by the light of the second and third spheres embedded within its surface.

"Ding!"

[You can access the "Apostle Chamber" now by opening the "Golden Door"!]

Stark let out a shaky breath, a victorious grin spreading across his face.

"Three guardians down," he muttered, "You're next, Apostle."
