Chapter 158: House Aberdaine and House Garant

Chapter 158: House Aberdaine and House Garant

"The City of Glassblade has 2 Seats for their Lordship," Florencia started, walking circles in front of the men who were eagerly listening. "House Aberdaine was the original seat but Lord Damian had married a Lady from another city. Lady Florence of House Garant. Since their city was small, the city was reduced to a village after their marriage, and the Lady's Seat was plucked and placed into Glassblade."

"What was the king thinking?" Lance scoffed. "A lord from a bigger city came and marries the ruler of a smaller city and he reduced their city to a town? He's insane."

"This was when Malice was still controlling him," Florencia continued. "This happened about 18 years ago. Back when Malice was using Georgina Hoot's anger. If you didn't know, it wasn't until the prophecy from Adam Burnbright that had gotten to the Queen of Hell that she targeted Solaguer."

"Adam Burnbright?" Elliot scrunched his face. "Isn't that Cain's son?"

"Exactly," Florencia said. "It's good that you already know them. Now, where was I? Oh, right. Adam Burnbright. He has a special ability of Sight. He can see the future that would impend irreversible damage to the flow of time, space, and life itself. He was being watched over by Malice's minions, creeping up on his house at night and extracting his visions."

"Malice will go far and wide to preserve her throne and the Prophesized boy will stop her from ruling," Florencia sighed. "And it won't be long before the prophecy would reach Heaven and the angels will interrupt. In that case, the two Realms will start to wage war. For them Prophesized Boy."

"Woah," the five boys chorused, looking straight at Florencia.

"Wait," Connor raised his hands. "How come you know all these? As far as I know, you're not a detective, neither someone who would hire a detective for this kind of matter."

"And how did you even found out about these things in the first place?" Elliot added, realizing that the young girl holds a very important piece of information.

Florencia shrugged, "The maids tells me bedtime stories up until now. It wasn't long before I realized that these weren't bedtime stories but in fact, real stories that are happening in the world."

"I'm worried about how much your maids know," Elliot muttered, his eyes twitching. "How much do they know?"

Florencia once again chuckled, a wide grin on her lips. "They know everything. Now, let's start this plan so we can start this rescue operation."

Viper was silent as he was riding back on one of the guards who accompanied him to a neighboring city. It is where Lord Aberdaine rule over.

He was silent throughout the whole trip, considering he could only think about his grandmother. What would she be doing now?

It wasn't long before they arrived at the City of Glassblade. A slightly smaller city than Alorde but has almost as equal population. The number of floors of the lodging buildings of Glassblade. This was their main feature. They have found a way to incorporate magic into transportation that was integrated in their buildings, called "elevators".

Among the kingdom of Avancia, Glassblade has the most progressive in terms of efficiency of combining tools and magic. They also have carriages that wouldn't require animals to pull so it would run by themselves using gems instead of mana. They are operated by drivers and they are currently called automobiles.

Although he was in awe by how modern the place looked, Viper was still scared. They only arrived at the city and there were already residents that flood the street.

"Can I ask you something?" Viper said to one of the guards. When they didn't answer, he only sighed and realized that they wouldn't answer him. Their stone cold expressions alone told him that their lips will be zipped.

"The maids know everything," the guard Viper was riding on whispered.

He looked around but the stoic expressions of the other guards made him think that he was hearing things.

"Is that the little lord?"

"He does look like Lord Damian."

"I heard he will inherit House Garant."

"What? The smaller house?"

People started to crowd the streets, seeing the guards with golden equipment parading the street. They were whispering loudly, asking themselves about the newly brought boy.

"What will happen to me now?" Viper could only ask himself and sigh, holding back the tears that were threatening to come out.

"We have arrived," another one of the guards yelled. They were in front of the large castle gate, waiting for the guards inside to let them in.

"Lord Viper has arrived!"

The metal gates of the castle creaked open, opening itself and making way for them to pass.

Viper looked around and saw that the House Aberdaine's castle was the same as the castle in Alorde. Although Alorde doesn't have a Lord in its seat for years, the Royal Family kept it clean as a sign of respect for their ancestors that seated the city for centuries.

"My son!" a man in his twilight years cheered, lips wide with a grin and his long hair slicked back. "You have arrived to where you're supposed to be."

"Are you my father?" Viper asked. The horses stopped and a small ladder was placed by the horse he was riding. He took it to step down and walked in front of the man. "But my grandmother told me that you were dead."

"Let us go inside first," Lord Damian said, putting his arm on Viper's back. "You need a rest and a royal bath, my dear child. Oh, how you've been neglected. Ww need the tailor to sew you clothes and garment that suits you. Your room had been prepared and you're free to take a rest while the maids prepare the food."

Viper was silent, realizing the old man will not entertain his questions. He was ready to give up asking when he remembered what the guard said to him on their way ther.

"The maids know everything."

It seemed like maids flooded the entire castle. It would be easy to ask the maids but it's hard which maid to trust. Any one of them could be a spy that the lord had planted.

This is going to be harder than I thought. Viper sighed and fixed himself. He had decided to let things be. He will go with the flow for now. Just until his rescuers come or he would find a way out of this mess.
