Chapter 130: Wanwan (4)
Chapter 130: Wanwan (4)
"It feels like I've been away for a long time." Dawn said as he looked at the far distance.
Although it seems like it has indeed been a long time since he was in the village, it was definitely not.
After all, he was only gone for about a day. All those battles that happened only transpired within the time span of a day.
What's more, the battles that made Dawn become a Count were also just a few days ago.
It was crazy if you think about how slow time passes.
However, to Dawn, it felt like it has already been a few months ever since he battled with the Warmen.
After all, his sense of time was warped when he was having that dream.
What's more, all those battles that he fought felt extremely long.
It was reasonable to think that it has been a long time for him, even though it hasn't.
"By the way, Karkas. You said that the wolf that Razta and the others fought escaped?"
Dawn said as he remembered what Karkas said to him a while ago.
It was only natural for Karkas to tell Dawn as that is something Dawn needed to know as the one leading the goblins.
Besides, they might even run against the wolf once more while marching in the forest.
It wouldn't be weird if Karkas told the king of the possible dangers.
"Yes, king. They were able to injure it, but they said that they lost."
"If the wolf that they fought didn't run, Razta said that they would be wiped out for sure, and we would lose even more goblins."
"I'm afraid that we would be back to 300 goblins if the wolf did not run."
Dawn was about to reply to Karkas when it suddenly happened.
Boom!
And that was the loud explosion that happened right in front.
However, not even Dawn could figure what it was.
And that was why Dawn had a confused look on his face.
However, that soon was wiped out as he heard the bushes being disturbed and the leaf going off.
And when Dawn whipped his head towards the source of it, he soon saw someone.
And that someone was Razta.
"What happaned!?" Karkas said as he stopped.
Dawn also stopped running, and as soon as he did, the goblins near him stopped running.
After all, they needed to listen to what Razta had to say.
The time when Razta came here, and when that loud explosion resounded out in the forest almost happened at the same time.
Dawn also thought that Razta was somehow connected with the explosion as he asked.
"What brings you here?"
It was then that Razta kneeled right in front of Dawn. He then answered with an impatient...and nervous voice.
"K-King! I-it's back! It's back!!"
"It's back? What do you mean?"
"The wolf that destroyed us earlier...it's back! And it is killing goblins after goblins as we speak!"
As soon as Razta finished speaking that, Dawn could hear something popping, and he could even feel the ground shake.
Thud! Boom!
"King, what do we do? I'm sure we can take care of that with Didi, and the others as they are quite refreshed by now."
Karkas suggested as he bowed his head.
What he said was right. Didi and the other blessed goblins were able to rest all this time, and they would be able to defeat the wolf in no time at all.
However, the real reason why Karkas suggested this is because he was worried about Dawn.
After all, Karkas knew his king very well.
And it seems that his premonition would happen as Dawn spoke once more.
"Did you guys know? I had a wolf back then."
"That's why...this situation...it's interesting."
Dawn then whipped his head towards Karkas as he spoke once more.
"I'll take care of it."
And when he finished saying that, Karkas had the look of a worried mad man once more on his face.
After all, Dawn had just woken up from his injuries. If Dawn were somehow to get hurt once more in this fight, it wouldn't be weird to say that Dawn would die.
However, before Karkas could even say that to his king, Dawn spoke.
"I know what you are thinking."
"It'll be fine. My body is moving the way I want it to move."
"Besides, there's something I want to try."
Dawn then whipped his head towards Karkas as he spoke with a face that Karkas couldn't read.
After all, Karkas could see once more.
Karkas could see the redness in Dawn's eyes that seems like it was going back to life.
"You won't disobey me, right?"
And when Dawn said that, Karkas could only bow his head as he felt his life being threatened.
Well, it didn't matter to Karkas as his duty was just to serve Dawn.
"No, my king."
"All is according to your will."
"Good." Dawn said.
Dawn then whipped his head back to the kneeling Razta.
After all, if there were someone who would know the most about the wolf, it would be this goblin.
"Stand up. Lead me where the wolf is."
"Yes, king." Razta said as he stood up.
And when he looked up to look at Dawn, he immediately froze right in his spot.
After all, Dawn looked so scary right now that even Razta was feeling the pressure on his soul.
"Ah, Karkas. You take care of the other things."
"Yes. I shall see to it as fast as possible."
"Good."
Dawn then whipped his head towards Razta, who was scared.
Well, Dawn didn't really care if he was scared or not. He didn't really care if he was scaring them.
In the end, Dawn just couldn't give a fuck right now.
After all, the rage, the hatred, the anger...the wrath of the goblin king is still bottled in his chest.
"Let's go."
Dawn then disappeared on his spot right after saying that.
Of course, Razta didn't plan to disobey as he too disappeared, following after the king.
And when the two goblins were gone, Karkas spoke.
"The king is...different."
****
"Hmm." Dawn hummed as he looked down while standing on top of a branch of a tree.
And right next to Dawn is the goblin who was trashed just a while ago by the wolf, Razta.
And what they were looking at is goblins. Right, there were goblins right below them.
However, that wasn't all that was right there.
There were also...dead goblins. Right, there were dead goblins piling up in the area.
They were scattered too, and the reason is pretty obvious.
It was because of the wolf that was killing them all as it thrashed around the goblins!
"GRRR!!" The wolf's growl resounded out in this area, and Dawn could hear it pretty well.
After all, he was watching the wolf with his eyes, and he was pretty near it.
"King, what shall we do? The goblins won't be able to handle it any longer by themselves."
"The other blessed goblins are also holding themselves back because you said so."
Indeed. The reason why there were so many dead normal goblins in the ground was that there was no one to lead them.
The blessed goblins were holding themselves back and were using the normal goblins to protect themselves since they can't fight.
Although it was fine and all, their numbers would soon go down once more if Dawn let this keep up.
However, there was a reason why Dawn wasn't doing anything.
And that was because he was observing the wolf very closely and carefully.
He didn't want to miss a single thing about it, and he didn't want to mess it up either.
Why? It was because Dawn was feeling a familiarity with this wolf.
---Is it really him?
Back in the day, when Dawn was still alone and didn't have any subordinates, Dawn had a battle against a wolf.
It was a big bad wolf, and it was strong enough to kill Dawn.
Of course, Dawn won against that wolf as he was still alive today.
And right after beating that wolf, there was another wolf that came up to him.
However, it wasn't for fighting, but it was for...well, dependence.
And Dawn remembers that clearly as that was the first time Dawn fought a strong monster.
That was why Dawn was looking carefully at this wolf that somehow fits the picture.
He fits the picture of what Dawn used to know as Wanwan.
"Hmmm. I guess it is him." Dawn said as he looked at the wolf's distinct features.
Although the wolf right now didn't look like Wanwan at all, it definitely looked like the wolf that Dawn defeated.
It was as if he were looking at the adult version of Wanwan at this point.
And that was why Dawn thought that it was Wanwan himself.
"Interesting. So, he killed one of my blessed goblins."
Dawn said as he looked at the wolf.
