Chapter 345: Pass and Future

Gao Ming had no idea what the investigation centre was planning, but the rewards they offered were indeed enticing.

“I’ll relay the information to the others.” Gao Ming used the God of Flesh and Blood to suppress Luo Dong’s daughter. “I’ve handled the anomaly at the pet company. I hope you can arrive earlier to aid the citizens next time. Don’t be like the main characters in movies and arrive after the tragedy has already happened.”

Gao Ming walked out. He felt so much better since he didn’t see Wan Jie and the other security members. The investigators didn’t dare to stop Gao Ming and allowed him to pass.

Seeing as Gao Ming and Luo Dong’s family were about to leave, Yu Ruolong and Yu Ruohu shared a look, jumped up from the ground and followed them. When the Beast God collapsed, the shadow outside the pet company started to dissipate. Gao Ming sent Luo Dong to Li San and ensured there was no one trailing them before parting ways.

“I didn’t think you were really Gao Ming from Class 13. I knew your name was familiar.” Luo Dong stood with his family. He looked at Gao Ming with appreciation.

“Just promise me to live well. Protect yourself and your family.” Gao Ming waved and turned back. Running into Luo Dong was a happy accident. His original plan was to enter Li San Hospital. The investigation centre surrounded the hospital and made it into a taboo zone. However, with the increase in the blind man’s power, he could seamlessly enter into the night. Even the security members could not detect him, much less the regular investigators.

With the big dog’s help, Gao Ming easily sneaked into the hospital. The headquarters turned the front building into a special building covered in talismans, and the back building was on lockdown. Sensing Ah Fang’s parent’s location, Gao Ming and the big dog tore through the seal and ran in. Gao Ming returned to the back building, but everything felt so different. The black lake had been destroyed, and all the mud figurines had escaped. The place didn’t feel as eerie as before.

“All the figurines have absconded. Why is the centre protecting an empty building?” The big dog was befuddled.

“If the people from the headquarters had come here personally, they wouldn’t have given this order. Or Wan Jie could have given them the wrong information, causing this mistake.” Gao Ming walked up the stairs. Shadow bled everywhere. Everything leaked a thick scent of decay.

The bloodstains on the wall were painted over with bright colours. Fluffy clouds surrounded the white bones. Red flowers bloomed beside the flesh. Yellow soils covered the rotten corpses. The medicine bottles were cleaned out. The beds used to detain patients were modified into swings. The expensive medical equipment was taken apart and made into toys and building blocks. Someone clearly tried to give this room a new look, but it only made the place feel even more absurd.

The chains carved with human names tightened. The scalpel fell to the ground. The chimes halted. The male doctor, who sat on the bed, saw Gao Ming. He stood up uncertainly, his eyes brimming with plea. After they entered the torture room, their fate was bound to Gao Ming. No matter what they did, they couldn’t escape Gao Ming. The humming of the lullaby quieted down. The female doctor hid behind the male doctor, hugging the sleeping Ah Fang. She poked out her face, looking worried.

“You’re making me feel so guilty! I haven’t even done anything!” Gao Ming didn’t want to disturb them, but he had to clarify something.

He walked forward. The eyes of the toys on the ground turned to Gao Ming.

When he was about three metres from the male doctor, Ah Fang, in the female doctor’s embrace, rubbed his eyes like he was waking up. There were thirteen people in the death portrait of the Blood City. Twelve of them were supervillains like Jing Tuoshen and Situ An. Ah Fang was the only exception. He became a candidate because the lingering will of the shadow world had entered his body.

The blood tattoo on his body activated. The God of Flesh and Blood became excited, looking at Ah Fang. He wanted to store all the candidates inside the torture room. That way, he and Gao Ming would become Han Hai’s real owners. Sensing the bad intentions of Gao Ming, Ah Fang was scared. The toys scattered around the surgical room radiated the intention to kill. In terms of pure power, Gao Ming might not win Ah Fang. The kid had the ability to piece resentment rooms together like building blocks. He could technically construct as many death realms as he wanted. Even Gao Ming didn’t know how many ghosts were helping Ah Fang.

“I rescued your blood parents. I helped you escape from the east city investigation centre. Furthermore, I dealt with Situ An, who was the source of all of your pain. I helped you take revenge.” Gao Ming stood there openly. Ah Fang slowly pulled back the cap of his pyjama to look at Gao Ming timidly.

“Thank you…” The tail of the dinosaur pyjama slumped. Ah Fang gathered his courage to tell Gao Ming, “But I really don’t know anything…”

“There is another consciousness in your body. Can you ask him out?” Gao Ming rummaged through his pocket. When he came to see Ah Fang last, he bought a lot of snacks. There were still two lollipops in his pocket.

Ah Fang closed his eyes, appearing like he was sleeping. After a long while, he opened them again. His eyes were red with blood, like he hadn’t slept for days. “He doesn’t dare to come out. Many bad people are looking for him.”

“Then, can you help me ask him a few questions?” Gao Ming didn’t know so many things. He desperately wanted answers.

Ah Fang closed his eyes again. When he reawakened, he waved his tiny hands. “His memory has been stripped by Situ An and Lu Zang. They stored them in the mud figurines deep inside the black lake. If you want to know the truth, you will have to wait.”

“Past and Future?” Gao Ming sensed danger from the names alone. Their power was probably stronger than the God of Flesh and Blood.

“Are the headquarters doing the mass cleansing to deal with these two figurines?”
