Chapter 623: Wolves are here?-1
Everyone laughed and ate together occasionally shifting through different topics. Eventually the topic of his movie premier came up.
" I am so excited! This will be your sixth movie right? There was only one book left?" Mary seemed awfully excited about it.
" There will be two more but while we are on this topic. It will be a good idea this year for you guys to not attend the premier. Isn't it better we have our own showing at that theater in our backyard that's been gathering dust? It would be cool to invite everyone instead of you guys sneaking around the movie theater in central London."
" What!?" Mary seemed devastated, the girls already knew about it so there was not much reaction out of them but it was surprising to see his parents nod along his plan.
" That's a good idea. Who are you bringing with you then?" Everyone glossed over Mary as Laura asked him.
" I have someone in mind." Adele, Iblis and Mayra looked at each other but seeing the same puzzled expression on each others faces they knew there was someone new. They could probably guess who this person was because he had already told them about Kate.
" Is that a good idea? You know what I mean right?" Kenneth inexplicitly mentioned it might be a bad idea.
" You can always tell us if you need our help. We can make so that those reporters wouldn't bother you at the event." Robert offered to help.
" It's fine. Excess meddling can be bad too beside I have to face the media at some point. You can't always control your environment when you travel a lot." Samuel immediately declined. He was ready for anything beside he felt like he didn't do anything wrong. He might have taken a different route but that didn't matter now.
They began to talk about logistics, the security personnels and a lengthy vetting process. This was exactly what Samuel feared, he said no to everything except the security because he knew he couldn't convince them otherwise.
When elders stopped asking question, Mary saw a chance to ask," What about my little brother? You can't possibly tell me he is not going considering how much he love your movies."
It was true that no one could stop him if Peter wanted to go, there was not many people that could match his physical prowess in this place. They would have to gang up on him just to retrain him.
" Well, I don't think anyone even recognises him in public unlike you who is always out partying." Laura added.
" I also don't have any problem with him coming." Samuel shrugged.
" No, you have to ask him not to go too! I know he will tease and boast about seeing the movie first! I can't deal with his childishness." It was rich coming from Mary who was a child in her own right.
" Alright, I will ask him but don't get your hopes up. Since we are talking about him, where is he?" Samuel found it hard to believe he would miss a family lunch without any good excuse.
" Didn't he tell you? He is at the new sanctuary receiving the shipment of wolves. He invited everyone but it's not good to scare them with a large crowd of people because that wouldn't be natural." Patricia answered.
Everyone had been talking about the new grey wolves since morning. Few people did raised concerns considering the baby deer incident the other day since then the whole parameter had been bolstered extensively making it impossible for any thing to pass through.
The place was also quite far from where people lived and with ample guards patrolling everything they could finally roam in peace but there was no guarantee that wouldn't hear their howls at night. The kids were especially excited about it. There was a special viewing area set up at the perimeter but there was little chance of them seeing anything considering they had miles of forest to roam around.
" Why did no one told me about it?" Samuel was hoping this day would never come but they were here so he couldn't do anything about it.
" We thought he already told you about it."
" Alright, I should go and take a look then." He put down his fork. He immediately lost his appetite.
" Wait, before that I have something to talk about. Meet me in my office." Robert stopped him from leaving. Seeing the urgency on his father's face, Samuel decided to wait. Everyone finished eating and got busy to do their work.
The girls followed Hannah to go play with the kids. They didn't really care about the wolves other than the fact that the deer that they adored were about to become their meal. But knowing that it's a natural cycle they couldn't really say much about it.
It was the same for other family members, Mary had came to terms with the issue and with the winter clothing release right around the corner she didn't have time to think about benign things.
Samuel headed toward the office and found his father waiting for him.
" Sit down, I have something to tell you." Samuel nodded and sat down. It was overly formal which was how he knew it was something important.
" I had a long chat with the head of Rockefeller family." Robert said with a serious expression.
" They are well aware of what transpired and actively apologized for his behaviour. We always had a friendly relationship with them but it wasn't without conflict. The States is mostly the Morgan family, your mother side's territory so we tend not to overextend our reach there as a sign of respect and they do the same to us.
But it's a large country which means there are lot of large factions actively growing their forces there."
" They apologized?" Samuel found it hard to believe seeing how the little punk behaved in front of him. Just his smugness was enough to tell how spoiled he was raised. Beside, Rockefellers were not that far behind in terms of strength than his own family, it was surprising to see them lower themselves first.
" I found it odd too which is why I am telling you to just avoid him in the future. We don't know what that crazy family is up to." Robert asked. There would not be a good outcome even if they were to clash.
"Well, I believe I told you about their possible connection to the organization that I am investigating. Maybe they are trying to lower our guards so that we don't look more into it?"
" Nothing is confirmed until we get proof and you can't possibly expect the whole family to be in beds with a shadowy corporation. Getting the someone like Rockefeller under their thumb would mean that one of the old giants of America is just a limb of a much bigger entity?
That would mean trouble for everyone including Morgans and us." Robert was aware of the possibility but he didn't want to delve into conspiracy.
There might be some bad apples but if the whole batch was corrupt there was bound to be an all out war between them.
" I also hope that it's not true. Other than that, is there something else you want to say to me?"
" No, that's it for now. You can go now." Robert had few more things in his mind but didn't want to bring Samuel in without thinking about the complications of it. He just wanted him to live free and enjoy his life but that was getting more and more harder knowing that Samuel was always getting into bigger and bigger trouble because of his explosive personality.
All he could do now was watch over him and help him as much as he could. That's what a parent do.

...
Samuel made his way toward the sanctuary, he was alone thinking about problems that kept cropping up like weeds. He emptied his mind as he drove inside the facilities seeing a line of transport vehicles lining up the whole place.
From the looks of it, they hadn't started releasing them as he could hear scratching and growling from inside the large cages. The whole pack seemed to be a family of six wolves that were individually stored in different cages which he didn't understand why.
But it was not like they were conscious during transportation so that didn't really matter, he went up and found his Uncle talking with others giving them directions like he was some sort of wildlife expert.
He didn't know how should he approach him. Would he still me mad about him taking his car outside for a spin? There was a substantial chance of him outright attacking him out of the blue because that's was his uncle's usual language.
He would always preach about men resolving any issue with their fist. Samuel walked over while keeping his guard up, his uncle was strong but he could probably beat him.
