Godly Investor: A Hundred Trillion Dollars For Investment And Donations

Chapter 126

At that moment Ethan's heart raced as he processed the butler's words, his eyes widening in shock and disbelief.

"The old master himself?"

he said to himself, his mind spinning with the implications it might resolve into.

immediately a wave of panic washed over him, and he felt sweat beginning to bead on his brow. "Please, let's not be Steve Benjamin,"

he silently prayed, his hands trembling slightly at his sides. Anyone else would be fine, not Steve, and the thought of being exposed in front of his coursemate sent chills down his spine.

"I can't let them find out,"

he muttered under his breath, his voice barely above a whisper.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om

The idea of Steve Benjamin recognizing him as the person linked to the new owner of the estate, they had recently sold made Ethan's stomach twist with anxiety. "What if he asks me about the Godly Investor?"

Ethan said to himself, his heart racing as he envisioned the worst-case scenarios.

"I'm in deep trouble if he finds out it's me, and asking those questions in front of everyone is something I don't want."

He ran a hand through his hair, his mind racing for a way out of this mess.

"Think, Ethan, think,"

he urged himself, his brow furrowed in concentration.

At that moment of sheer panic, Ethan quickly approached the teacher, his voice low and urgent. "Excuse me, may I please use the restroom?"

he asked, his eyes pleading for an escape from the looming confrontation he might race soon. "I really need to go,"

he added, shifting his weight from one foot to the other to emphasize his urgency.

The teacher however nodded, and Ethan quickly scanned the room for a maid who could direct him to the restroom.

"I need to get out of here,"

he thought, his palms growing clammy with each passing second. "Just for a moment, to gather my thoughts and find a way to escape. no one would even notice I was there after all."

As he made his way toward a maid who was standing on the doorway, a stern voice suddenly called out, making Ethan stop in his tracks. "Young man, where do you think you're going?"

Ethan slowly turned around, his heart pounding so loudly he could hear it in his ears.

He thought it was Steve, But to his horror, he found himself face to face with an elegantly dressed elderly gentleman, his eyes piercing and his demeanor commanding. "Oh no,"

Ethan whispered, his face paling.

At that moment the entire group's attention shifted to the unexpected interruption, and gasps of surprise filled the air as they realized it was none other than the old master of the Benjamin family himself. immediately Ethan's classmates exchanged curious glances, their eyebrows raised in wonder as they tried to figure out what had prompted the master to single out Ethan.

"What's going on?"

they whispered among themselves, their voices filled with intrigue and speculation.

Then the Whispers began to circulate among the students, their voices tinged with suspicion and judgment towards Ethan.

"What the hell is Ethan doing?"

one of them muttered, loud enough for others to hear.

"isn't it obvious? Maybe he was trying to sneak inside the house to steal something. He doesn't belong here with the rest of us and I'm not surprised if that was his plan."

The words stung, and Ethan could feel the heat rising in his cheeks, a mix of anger and humiliation coursing through his veins.

"They don't know anything about me yet they talk nonsense,"

He said to himself, clenching his fists tightly at his sides.

The teacher, overhearing the comments, stepped forward, her voice cautious yet firm as she wanted to clear the air.

"Ethan is here on a scholarship, unlike the rest of the students here,"

she explained, her tone carrying a hint of disdain.

"He said, he wanted to use the restroom, perhaps he had other intentions."

The teacher's eyes narrowed as she studied Ethan, her suspicion clear in her gaze.

Upon hearing what the teacher just said Ethan's heart sank, feeling betrayed by the very person who was supposed to support and guide everyone.

"Even she doubts and hate me for no reason,"

he said to himself, with a lump forming in his throat.

Immediately Laughter erupted from the group of students, their voices filled with mockery and derision as they all gaze at Ethan with disgusting eyes.

"He probably wanted to get lost in the mansion and never come back!" one student jeered, prompting more laughter from her peers.

"Can you imagine? Ethan living in a place like this?"

another chimed in, their voice dripping with sarcasm.

"Maybe as a servant!"

At that moment Ethan clenched his fists, fighting back the words that threatened to spill from his mouth. He refused to give them the satisfaction of seeing him break.

"That was before, all of their words wouldn't get to me again, I won't let them get to me but instead I'm going to shock them to the core,"

he repeated in his mind, like a mantra.

Despite the harsh comments and the teacher's painful words, Ethan decided to stay quiet, his jaw tightly clenched.

"I won't let them get to me,"

he thought, feeling his anger getting stronger with each moment. He straightened his back, lifting his chin as he faced the old master, ready to stand his ground knowing what anyone would say Even if Steve comes around.

"I know who I am now."

he reminded himself, taking a deep breath to steady his nerves.

Elder Benjamin, gaze sharp and scrutinizing, shifted his focus back to Ethan.

"Young man, what is it that you wanted to do?"

he inquired, his tone calm yet commanding.

At that moment Ethan smiled, his shoulders suddenly raised.

Drawing in a deep breath, Ethan mustered his courage, meeting the old master's gaze directly.

"I saw you coming, old master Benjamin, and I wanted to greet you properly,"

he said, his voice steady despite the anger on his stomach.

"It's an honor to meet you, sir."

He bowed his head slightly, showing respect.

The group of students fell silent, taken aback by Ethan's boldness and the respect he just displayed.

"Did he just...?"

they murmured among themselves, their eyes wide with disbelief.

Before anyone could respond, Ethan pressed on, his voice gaining strength with each word.

"I also have a property in the estate you recently sold."

immediately what Ethan just said sent shockwaves through the crowd, their mouths agape in astonishment.

Ethan felt their eyes drilling into him, trying to discern the truth of his claim.

"That's right,"

he thought, holding his chin high. "I'm not just a scholarship student anymore."

He said to himself.

Immediately laughter erupted again, this time laced with disbelief and mockery.

"Ethan? The guy living in the dormitory? How could he possibly afford a property in that estate?" they jeered, their voices dripping with sarcasm.

"He must be out of his mind!" Ethan's heart raced, but he refused to let their taunts undermine his resolve of what he's going to do to them.

The old master's brow furrowed, clearly displeased. The idea of someone like Ethan, based on what he had heard from the other students, owning a house in the prestigious estate they just sold seemed ridiculous to him.

"Young man, where exactly is your house located within the estate?"

he asked, skepticism dripping from his tone.

Ethan felt the old master's gaze piercing through him, searching for any hint of dishonesty.

"He doesn't believe me."

Ethan said to himself, he wasn't surprised after all.

However Ethan's gaze was still focused on the old master's eyes.

"With all due respect, sir, does it really matter where my house is located within the estate?"

he asked, his voice calm and controlled.

"Are you suggesting that some areas of the estate are inferior or meant for the less fortunate, while others are only for the wealthy?"

His heart was calm, as he stood his ground.

The old master was taken aback by Ethan's bold response, his eyes widening in surprise.

He hadn't anticipated such a sharp question from a young student, especially one who had just been mocked moments earlier.

"I... well, no, that's not what I meant,"

he stammered a little, caught off guard by Ethan's keen insight. Ethan noticed the old master's façade beginning to crack, the power dynamic shifting just a bit in his favor.

"I've caught him off guard,"

he thought, with a flicker of satisfaction lighting up his eyes.

immediately the teacher, sensing the tension in the room, quickly intervened, her cheeks flushed with embarrassment.

"I'm sorry for my student's behavior, old master Benjamin,"

she said, her voice quivering slightly.

"Ethan's claims are clearly false, and I deeply regret any disrespect he may have shown."

Ethan's heart sank, feeling betrayed once again by the very person who was supposed to look after everyone.

However the old master raised his hand, silencing the teacher. His gaze remained fixed on Ethan, studying him with a newfound interest.

"No need to apologize,"

he said, his tone calm and steady. "Young man, what is your name? The name you used when you bought the property?"
