Chapter 409 Truth and Heartache
"Where is Little Liu?" Noah sighed upon seeing his friend's worried and confused look.

"Tell me!" Wuhan raised his voice, "Where is she!"
"Follow me," said Noah, turning around to walk out of the hall. Even though Xin Yan and Ming Ye did not show much expression on their faces, looking at the soft look in Ruo'er's cold eyes gave Wuhan a bad feeling.
With his hands clenched into fists, Wuhan walked out of the room behind Noah. By the time he realized where Noah was leading him, they were standing in front of an empty wall in the middle of the hallway.
Wuhan's heart almost leaped out of his chest when he confirmed where Noah was taking him. Right before his eyes, Noah raised his hands and tapped on the wall a couple of times with his fingers. When his fingers touched the wall, they looked like a drop of water falling into a calm lake. Each ripple spread throughout the whole wall.
The brick on the wall he touched quivered, it shook, and like a domino effect, one after another all the bricks started to shake before they started to disappear and a pathway appeared before their sight.
*Woosh!*
As soon as Noah took a step forward, all the empty torches on the wall lit up on their own, lighting up the pathway up ahead. Wuhan stood rooted to his place while this was happening. He wanted to open his mouth.
He wanted to ask what was happening. Why were they going into the dungeon? Why would Song Liu be in there? Just what happened while he was away? There were so many questions on his mind that he wanted to ask, but for some reason, he could not open his mouth to ask any of them.
*Ba-Dump!*
*Ba-Dump!*
Despite being all-powerful, there seemed to be no strength in his mouth. He did not want to follow behind Noah, but his body did not listen to him at all. With his mouth shut, Wuhan silently followed behind Noah like a lifeless person.
When they started to go down the stairs, they started to hear a faint sound. The lower they went, the clearer it got. By the time their feet touched the floor of the dungeon, Wuhan realized that the sound was of chains rattling.
*Rattle!*
When Wuhan's eyes landed on the source of the rattling sound, the first thing he felt was a wave of relief. Even though he was puzzled by the turn of events, Wuhan was relieved to see Song Liu alive.
But when the relief set in, the sight before him also started to set in inside his mind. He was puzzled to see her glaring at Noah.
"What is she doing here?" asked Wuhan. He turned towards the man leaning against the nearby wall. Seeing the anger and pain in his eyes, Noah sighed and replied, "You should have realized by now why we are here…"
*Crack!*
Noah's words shattered the truth Wuhan knew somewhere in his heart and was not ready to believe. Raging Qi gushed out of Wuhan's body, uncontrollably, ravaging, cracking the ground below him. When the pressure came crashing down at him, from the corner of his eyes Noah saw Wuhan's aura ignoring Song Liu unconsciously, not wanting to harm her.
"YOU SAID THEY WOULD BE FINE! YOU SAID YOU WOULD BRING THEM BACK!" Wuhan screamed and lashed out at Noah. His anger started to rise, and the air around him started to twirl and collapse.
If that was not enough, above the manor in the sky, thunderclouds started to gather. The feeling of anguish, pain, and sorrow started to fill the whole area. These clouds brought a feeling of nostalgia and pain for a certain someone.
The beasts who were unfortunate enough to fall prey to this effect lost their reasoning despite their cultivation. They all went berserk and started causing mayhem, destroying anyone or anything that came into their sight.
In a matter of minutes, the whole forest was painted red with the blood of beasts and even some humans who were looking for treasures.
*Woosh!*
Back in the cell of the Sect, Wuhan took a step forward in the direction of Noah. The moment he took a step forward Noah's legs started to tremble, and a streak of blood escaped from the corner of his mouth.
Despite his state, Noah did not back down from Wuhan. The dragon blood in his body activated, his pupils turned vertical like a predatory beast but he had no intentions of attacking. The clothes on his body shifted as black-scaled armor replaced his skin.
"You told me that they would be fine as long as not much time had passed!" said Wuhan. His eyes went bloodshot, with his nails digging into his palms. Wuhan was barely holding himself back from making a move.
Song Liu chained to the wall, looked at the back of her master, who was making his way toward Noah. While watching Wuhan's back, she saw dust falling in the air. Raising her head, she saw the ceiling of the room that was higher than ten meters shaking. Cracks started to appear on the rocks, which caused the dust to fall down.
Even though Wuhan was exuding his aura, it was in a specific area and did not reach the ceiling.
"Noah… tell me… what happened, tell me everything!" Getting no response from Noah, Wuhan started to get angrier. As much as he wanted to believe and knew that Noah had nothing to do with it, his anger did not let him see clearly.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Noah looked straight into Wuhan's eyes. Seeing the pain in Wuhan's eyes, Noah recalled the pain he once suffered. He turned his eyes and glanced at Song Liu, who was looking up. As if sensing someone looking at her, she looked down to meet Noah's dragon eyes.
Her eyes shook in fear, seeing those eyes. She did not know why but something about those eyes made her feel that she could not hide anything from him.
"Very well, I will tell you what happened," said Noah, looking back into Wuhan's eyes. "We did not waste any time and reached the place before any of them should have even been affected by the curse in the slightest. But she… she was already like that by the time we got there…"
What do you think?
