'Tch…and we have to fight more than a hundred of these?' Shye cursed inwardly as he witnessed the creature he had just assessed being cleaved in two by Luna's shortsword.

"Brace yourselves! There's more!" The party leader exclaimed.

Meanwhile, two tideriders leaped out of the water close to the stone step Shye was standing on, flying straight towards him while brandishing their shell blades adorned with a faint blue glow.

This was their strongest skill, [Enchant Aqua Lv.2 (Uncommon)].

Recognizing that the adventurer party was not an easy target, the Bornocs swiftly deployed their trump cards even before leaping out of the water, seeking to enhance their odds of eliminating their targets.

Unfortunately for the two tideriders, there was simply no way for them to even reach Shye as he simply obliterated both with an enormous fireball akin to a small sun.

Even Shye was surprised upon seeing the astonishing capabilities of his 300-intelligence-points fireball.

He didn't have time to admire his skill for long though as five more Bornocs pounced towards him with vicious intent.

'Come then you damned fishes, I'll destroy every single one of you!'

"Everyone, try to move forward as you defend yourself! We can't stay here for long!"

After successfully defending themselves for a few minutes, Luna noticed that more and more tideriders were converging on their location.

If things went on, their small party would surely be overwhelmed!

Naturally, Shye and the other five also realized this fact, hence, they immediately carried out Luna's orders, advancing as fast as they could while protecting themselves.

It was chaotic.

Initially, only five or seven Bornoc Tideriders would spring into action at a time.

However, now, at least fifteen were launching their attacks every two seconds. Fortunately, the nearest small island wasn't far away.

"Go! Don't stop! Things will become easier for us once we reach the small island!" Luna exclaimed, subtly slowing down her advance and moving towards the rear one step at a time.

Shye was the only one who noticed her actions as the other five were too busy saving their own skins.

'This idiot…Why is she always sacrificing herself for others?'

In the end, though, he couldn't resist the urge to position himself close to where he could help Luna as swiftly as possible.

He simply couldn't bear to see someone with such a valiant personality sacrifice herself for her idiotic and selfish party members.

After all, the world needed more of her and less of the selfish bastards.

…Tired as they were, the other five sprinted like mad to reach the shores of the small island as fast as possible.

Five minutes later, they finally managed to step onto the island while Luna…was alone, stranded three-fourths of the way there, surrounded by dozens of Bornoc Tideriders.

Shye tried his best to remain as close to her as possible but unfortunately, there were simply too many Bornocs.

'Tch, these damned fishes…'

Holding one greatsword in his right hand and one elemental staff in his left, Shye simultaneously supported Luna from afar while defending himself.

Naturally, the party's mage and archer, who had already safely reached the shores of the small island, also helped Luna from afar, allowing her to slowly inch her way forward despite being swarmed by around thirty Bornocs.

Luna bore numerous wounds.

Although none of them were lethal, even the slightest of pain would chip away at one's focus. Hence, things gradually got harder for Luna, fortunately, she was fast approaching the shores of the small island.

As she carefully stepped on the stones to advance toward her destination, Luna valiantly brandished her greatsword while masterfully utilizing her shield to protect herself.

At this point, all of the skills that would help Luna escape her current dire situation were on cooldown, yet, she valiantly pressed on.

Meanwhile, Shye was already waiting for her at the last stone step, providing much-needed assistance whenever she needed it most.

She was so close…only three more steps.

Unfortunately, a new Bornoc, larger than the tideriders, suddenly pounced from the depths of the miniature sea, heading straight towards Luna with the intent to drag her down to the sea.

And since she had her back turned to the darned creature, the large Bornoc managed to grab onto her armor, pulling her down to the sea with it.

'Not good!'

Realizing that her fate would be grim should he allow Luna to be dragged onto the sea, Shye swiftly used blink and then replaced the elemental staff in his hand with another greatsword.

'Power Slash!'

Appearing above the Bornoc, Shye slashed both greatswords down with all his might.

Astonishingly, the aquatic creature was able to react, opting to momentarily let go of Luna to defend itself from Shye's attack.

Raising its enormous shell blade horizontally, the huge Bornoc braced for impact.

Only, it didn't expect Shye's attack to be outlandishly strong.

Adamance and Mithra effortlessly sliced through the shell blade, akin to a hot knife effortlessly cutting through butter.

The greatswords didn't stop there.

Black blood splattered across the sea as Shye's greatswords continued their downward motion, successfully cutting the enormous Bornoc in half.

Meanwhile, as Luna ground her teeth in frustration, watching the sea draw nearer, a sudden intervention occurred.

A young man's hand seized her wrist, propelling her back to the shore at astonishing speed.

Before she even noticed, she found herself at the shores of the small island—her party members watching on with dumbstruck expressions.

They didn't look like veterans at all.

Luna then realized that they were staring at something, hence, she turned her gaze in the same direction, only to witness the scene of an ashen-haired young man falling into the deep-blue waters of the miniature sea while being swarmed by Bornocs.

"CROWLEY!!"
