Chapter 387 Creating the Merchant Guild.
Wu Xia opened her mouth to respond, but no words came out. If she hadn't seen the wealth displayed in the room, she might have thought Zimo was bluffing. But now, she didn't dare think that way.
Seeing their bewildered expressions, a light smile appeared on Zimo's face. He finished brewing his spirit tea and took a sip.
He savored the spirit tea in his mouth slowly before allowing it to wash down his throat. Placing the pristine white teacup down, he raised his head and looked at the two.
"Tell me about your clan and Clear Wind City," he demanded.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Wu Xia quickly understood something: before this young man, her pride and her clan meant nothing. If they were going to cooperate, it would be the young man agreeing to work with them, not the other way around.
Taking a deep breath, she collected her thoughts and began to talk about her clan and Clear Wind City. For the next five minutes, only her voice reverberated through the room.
"That's all about my clan and Clear Wind City," she concluded calmly.
"So you have an Expert Martial Artist and a Half-step Grandmaster Martial Artist in your city?" Zimo asked, his expression serene.
Wu Xia nodded, and a hint of pride flashed across her face. A Half-step Grandmaster Martial Artist was a powerful existence in this world, respected wherever they went.
Why could their city survive against the bloodlust and barbaric Necoris?
Zimo noticed the slight pride in Wu Xia's expression and chuckled inwardly. To him, killing a Grandmaster Martial Artist was as easy as killing an ant.
Nevertheless, he didn't let his thoughts show on his face. He stared at Wu Xia for a few seconds without speaking. Feeling his intense gaze, both Wu Xia and Mr. Hu shivered, as if all their secrets had been laid bare.
"Do you know the man who came to attack our store?" Zimo asked suddenly.
"Huh?"
Wu Xia and Mr. Hu were shocked; they hadn't expected such a question. Still, Wu Xia responded truthfully.
"Yes," she nodded. "They're the infamous Crimson Shadow Bandits. Their gang is spread throughout the Soaring Cloud Region."
"Oh, I see." Zimo nodded slightly.
"Why do you want to cooperate with our store? We're not selling anything important," he asked.
"Young Master, if you're not selling anything important, then no one in this world is," Wu Xia replied with a light smile.
"Really?"
"Yes. With the Fire Resistance Robe? How could you say you're not selling anything important?"
"That's where you're wrong. We're not selling it to outsiders. It's meant for the adventurer guild members of the store."
"However, we have something far more important than the Fire Resistance Robe."
"If I may ask, what would that be?" Wu Xia asked, her curiosity piqued.
"Something that will change this world…" A light smile appeared on Zimo's face. "You should leave now. I'll summon you when we decide to cooperate."
"Huh?"
Wu Xia and Mr. Hu widened their eyes. Is that all?! They wondered silently.
Zimo didn't wait for them to stand. He picked up a book and began reading. Seeing this, they knew the meeting was over.
With a light sigh, they dragged their feet and left the room.
In the lobby, Wu Xia's entourage anxiously watched the back door, their eyes filled with anticipation.
Ye Bi paced back and forth nervously. Her young miss had been gone for over ten minutes, and still no word from her.
Are they alright?
Has the owner captured them and taken their treasures?
I should have followed my young miss when she went in.
As her thoughts spiraled, the door to the back opened. Wu Xia and Mr. Hu emerged with listless expressions.
"Young Miss, are you okay?" Ye Bi rushed forward, checking Wu Xia for any injuries.
"I'm fine," Wu Xia replied with a wry smile. "Let's leave."
"Huh?"
Everyone was confused. It seemed that things had not gone according to plan. Still, they yielded to her command and departed from the store.
While Wu Xia and her entourage left, a woman dressed as a maid also exited the store, heading toward the inner part of the city.
Returning to the inn, everyone was filled with impatience, eager to hear about the meeting. Seeing their enthusiastic expressions, Mr. Hu and Wu Xia exchanged unsure glances.
"Young Miss, tell us. We're dying of anticipation."
"The owner said he would call us," Mr. Hu finally spoke up.
"Huh?"
Everyone was confused. They stared at them, unsure of how to react.
"Just like that?" a guard exclaimed.
"Just like that," Wu Xia nodded, leaving the group and returning to her room.
"I knew it," Ye Bi shouted furiously. "These commoner stores think they're big shots when we try to cooperate with them. We shouldn't have gone in the first place."
Clenching her fist, she glared in the direction of the Celestial Heavenly Store, as if ready to destroy it.
"If you want to die, die alone. Don't drag us into it," Mr. Hu said with obvious disdain, returning to his room.
Only a fool would dare attack the store after what they saw in Zimo's room.
As for Ye Bi, she froze, not expecting such disdainful words from Mr. Hu. The others glanced at her but ignored her completely.
Meanwhile, things were different at the Celestial Heavenly Store. The five powerful clan leaders arrived one after the other, their faces confused.
Why would the store owner summon them?
Inside Zimo's office, the five powerful individuals looked at him, waiting for him to explain why they were summoned.
"The store is expanding to Clear Wind City, and two of you will be selected to lead the new merchant group," Zimo announced calmly, looking at their faces.
"You may leave if you're not interested in becoming part of the store's merchant guild."
Frozen, the five held their breath, their hearts racing with excitement. As long as they could join the upper echelons of the store, their clan's future was set in stone.
Who the hell would leave?
