Chapter 449 Practice and Preaching
--
Cedric has a profound affinity with flames...
It shouldn't be surprising given the story of his life. He was the Sun Sage, who used sun fire and sunlight to slay demons to extinction. He cultivated the Nine Suns Empyrean Scripture to perfection, causing him to have nine extreme sun apertures within his body containing pure yang energy, it has become one of his foundation through his life evolution.
And even though Cedric studied concept laws as a whole, he's still more familiar with Fire Laws and would instinctively prefer it over others.

Therefore, it shouldn't come as a surprise that the first element to answer him at his mastery over the Cosmic Furnace Spell was the Fire Laws.
With his profound affinity over Fire Laws, manifestations and expressions of fire appear around him during his meditations. Images of divine beasts, land formations...anything that has a certain affinity with fire manifests around him due to his mastery over it.
At his current state, Cedric could summon a plume of fire hot enough to incinerate Prime Earth even after its evolution. With a flick of his sleeves, this small plume of fire can turn into a terrifying sea of flames that can swallow the entirety of Solaris Prime. With a single thought from him, Cedric could summon thousands of suns just for the heck of it.
Performing these feats for him was simple, since he's just that familiar with Fire Laws. Of course, he wouldn't do it recklessly, since he doesn't want to kill everybody.
With his deep connection and familiarity over fire, using it to perform the Cosmic Furnace Spell was easy. He was able to do after a week since learning the spell.
The Cosmic Furnace Spell was incredibly profound. Even with just a single element at his beck and call, Cedric already had the confidence to be able to refine anything.
Refining medicinal ingredients to extract their essence? Easy. Melting divine metals to change their shape or turn them into alloys? Done!
After a month of experiments, Cedric already had sufficient mastery over Fire Refinement that he knows he could confidently use it to himself.
But of course, this was nowhere near enough...
Using Fire Laws alone to refine his body to enter the Transitional Realm is indeed possible, but will be insufficient to build his foundations to enter the Cosmic Realm. Roderika advised him to seek perfection, and that's precisely what Cedric was aiming for. And to do that, a single concept refinement was far from enough.
To achieve minor mastery over the Cosmic Furnace Spell, one must be able to use the fundamental Five Elemental Concept Laws of Fire, Water, Wood, Earth, and Metal at the perfected Grand Solar Level with ease.
Performing the Cosmic Furnace Spell at minor mastery to one's self to enter the Transitional Realm will provide a small chance of breaking through the Cosmic Level of Life Evolution. Of course, that's under the assumption that they don't die during the Transitional Realm, which is highly possible still.
At major mastery, aside from the fundamental five elemental concept laws, one must add the Lightning, Space, and Time concept laws. All must be at performed at the perfected grand solar level of mastery as well.
Understandably, with the addition of three more concept laws in one's self refinement, the difficult spikes immensely. Because not only would one have to endure the terror and pain of the refinement, they also have to make sure that they're sober enough to keep the spell working. Obviously, if they can survive this, their chances at breakthrough the Cosmic Realm was higher.
One can say that the trial of the Transitional Realm was of one's willpower and skill.
And of course, at the perfected mastery, aside from the fundamental five elements and the lightning, space, and time laws, one must also mix in the elements of Life and Death. It is also said that if the caster of this spell reaches this level of mastery, there will be an additional element that will come naturally even without their explicit control. And that element was Karma.
Out of the many expressions of concept laws; Karma, Fate, and Destiny were the most elusive. Not even Cosmic Level experts could grasp this. They function on their own and were fickle in nature. Seeking to reign any of these concept laws will often result in one's demise, as written in history.
It is unknown why the law of Karma joins in the mix once one's mastery over the Cosmic Furnace reaches perfection. Not even the creator of this spell knows why. It just became something that one has to deal with. Also, just because the Law of Karma appears, it doesn't mean that the caster has mastery over it. It could be an opportunity to gain some understand of the concept, but mastering it was a delusional dream.
If, by some miracle — because it certainly is, one passes this extreme trial, which happens at every level of transition, mind you, then it's almost (emphasis on 'almost') guaranteed that they will step into the Cosmic Level of Life Evolution.
But throughout the history of the brave folks who thought too highly of themselves, only a fraction of them made it in the end. A handful died during the first three levels of transition, some died at the mid-stage, while the majority died at the final three levels.n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
Body, Mind, and Spirit. Obviously, the Spiritual Transition becomes the toughest hurdle for everyone to pass because the majority of the clans and races in the alliance had no way of strengthening their spirits. Sure, there were cultivation techniques that could aid with that, but even that isn't nearly sufficient sometimes.
The only race who probably was the least concerned about the Spiritual Transition was the Spirit Race, but even they had their deficiencies, such as their physical bodies, which balances things out.
In the end, there were a lot of aspects that comes into play during the Transitional Realm. Some say that it even involves luck, fortune, and destiny.
But all of this was a distant matter for the current Cedric. He doesn't even dare to think too much of it since right now, he only had superficial mastery over the spell.
Of course, mastery comes with diligence, effort, and time. Cedric wasn't in a hurry, he had a long life ahead of him anyway. Moreover, it said that the reaching the minor mastery of the Cosmic Furnace Spell in a hundred years was considered as average.
At first, Cedric couldn't wrap his head around that concept, though. How could that be? Isn't it just controlling the law of five elements according to the spell's standards? How could it take so long for others to do so?
Then, he remembers that some Grand Solar level experts prefers to take a single law and cultivate it to the extreme to raise their strength. They were unlike him, who's studying the concept law as a bulk to advance slowly and steadily.
Actually, Cedric was an absurd existence in the alliance's standards. One must know that those who built their foundations the same way as he does were all at least thousands of years old. Studying concept laws as a whole was a time-consuming project after all, that much was obvious.
But Cedric isn't even a thousand years old...well, physically, at least. Yet, he's already standing on the same pedestal as those old experts. Perhaps, he's even ahead at some points.
Actually, his mental age, even though surpassing a thousand years old, is still considered young. After all, who amongst his peers didn't have access to chambers that allowed them to ponder over the profundity of laws in peace? Cedric did it while under the pressure of the Tower of Prodigies.
If it weren't for the Tower Master keeping his achievements secured and private, as well as the anonymity council laws he's taking advantage of, Cedric would've long since pushed under the spotlight, which will definitely be troublesome.
Sighing to himself, Cedric stopped today's training.
He looked at the materials he refined scattered across his workbench. With a flick of sleeves, he threw them all haphazardly into the Nine-layered Heaven Island. He personally doesn't have any uses for them, but the same cannot be said for the future people who will eventually visit this place.
Just treat is a bonus for them. If they're fated with it, they can have it. But frankly, Cedric couldn't care less about those materials, since it's truly worthless to him.
With a small step from him, his surroundings warped, and he arrived at the Sky Castle just like that, breaching immense distances like that had become a simple matter for him at his current level of strength.
He walked towards the hall where he met his family. He looked at their expectant faces and nodded.
"Have you all eaten? If not, we can postpone this a bit."
"We're good, Dad. We can begin now." Godwyn responded as usual.
"Alright." Cedric nodded before taking a seat in front of them. "Then, I shall continue from the last time. The relationship of the five fundamental elemental concept laws are both mutually restricting and supporting..."
And thus, Cedric's usual routine of preaching the concept of laws to his family began.
