Chapter 6287: Centurial
Chapter 6287: Centurial
“I've been told Silence Ancestor is from the same generation as our Desolate Ancestor.” Mu Hu said.
“From the same generation? So a member of the seven disciples?” Orchidcore asked.
“No, Silence Ancestor was not a part of our sect then. The details are unclear but this was before our progenitor’s dao achievement. Silence Ancestor was there to protect her under the command of Lord of Life and Death.” Mu Hu shook his head.
“Desolate Ancestor needed a protector?” Monk Zhu was surprised to hear this.
In future generations, Desolate Ancestor represented invincibility. No one could contend against her except Zhan Sansheng.
“I wonder about the relationship between her and Lord of Life and Death.” Princess Chen said quietly: “It seems the lord was already at the top before Desolate Ancestor’s ascension. The former took care of Desolate Ancestor and was repaid with her loyalty, right?”
“Hmm…” Mu Hu said: “I don’t know, I’m not sure if loyalty is the right word. The two should be the closest of friends.”
“My ancestor told me about the lord’s supremacy since ancient times. Progenitors and other masters followed her lead.” Orchidcore murmured.
“That’s beyond my knowledge. Few can see her who resides in Life and Death Heaven.” Mu Hu shook his head.
“Silence Ancestor must have been mighty. It’s a shame I never heard of this great figure before.” Orchidcore stared at Silence Peak and said.
“Rumor has it Silence Ancestor only utilized defense, never offense.” Mu Hu said: “When she was around, everyone would immediately give up and retreat.”
“Because she was too strong, or something else?” Princess Chen had never heard of this before.
“I don’t know, the records are sparse.” Mu Hu shook his head.
“Mutebane.” Li Qiye gave them the answer. [1]
“Mutebane?” This term was foreign to the group.
However, Li Qiye only stared at the mountain and didn’t answer.
“Everlasting Jiang resided in Longevity Peak, right?” Monk Zhu looked around curiously.
“Yes, one of the twelve main mountain ranges. He was always inside Longevity Hall to train. If only…” Mu Hu pointed over yonder.n/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
Although the group couldn’t see the main peak clearly, they saw white banners as part of the ceremony.
“I heard about an immortal artifact stored in your central peak and an immortal source left behind by your progenitor during her meditation.” Princess Chen asked.
“Not entirely correct.” Mu Hu said: “Our progenitor didn’t only stay at the immortal peak. It only became her primary residence after her ascension but she left shortly after. She spent more time in Imperial Domain so traces of her dao can be found in all six peaks.”
“What about the immortal artifact?” Princess Chen didn’t give up.
Mu Hu smiled wryly and said: “I don’t know because I’ve never been there before, the same for my master. I don’t think our Crimson Virtue Emperor saw this artifact either.”
“Is it well hidden?” Orchidcore asked.
“Climbing the peak doesn’t mean being able to go everywhere there. One can look at the Founder Tablet or Desolate Scripture, the main hall might still be out of reach.” Mu Hu said.
“The main hall is where she spent her time?” Everyone became curious.
“Most likely.” Mu Hu said without confidence: “But as far as I know, no one has been able to enter after her departure. I don’t know anything about visitors beforehand. All in all, it’s definitely out of reach.”
“What about Everlasting Jiang? He has a higher seniority.” Orchidcore said.
“I just know the hall has been closed ever since.” Mu Hu said softly.
“Then the artifact and source have to be there.” Princess Chen murmured.
“Wait, I think there’s something off.” Orchidcore recalled something.
“What?” Mu Hu asked.
“You talked about how exclusive Imperial and Ancestral Domain are, but I think my clan members have visited to conduct business before.” Orchidcore said.
“You must be referring to Centurial Peak.” Mu Hu understood and said: “It’s over there, the most lively area when not counting Myriad Peaks Domain.”
The group couldn’t see the main peak either, only a mountain range with flourishing cities. The distance reduced visibility.
Strangely enough, they saw that area having the presence of a mortal world due to how bustling it was.
“That place looks like a mortal city.” Princess Chen said.
“Centurial City is the name, or Centurial Kingdom. It’s a special area, you need permission from the Chen to enter.” Mu Hu said.
“Is that Tenth-gen Chen’s branch?” Monk Zhu lowered his voice.
“Yes, it is relatively large compared to the other main mountains. It might be the most prosperous too since the ancestors of the Chen stay there.” Mu Hu said.
The group understood - Centurial Peak was one of the twelve main mountains. However, since the Chen had so much influence there, it became their territory.
“Centurial, centurial, does this branch want to pass down their legacy a hundred times?” Princess Chen asked.
“It is currently the tenth generation. We don’t count other descendants but when talking about the main branch, they might actually do it.” Mu Hu said.
“I can only imagine the power at that point, not just taking over your sect but becoming an immortal.” Princess Chen said.
The youths exchanged glances, finding logic in her remark.
