Chapter 75 Death By Gun Smash.
The boss's voice was shrill this time as she said, "Are these your partners? You are a cop, aren't you? Stop now if you care about them."
Wrath said with pity, "Poor driver. I quite liked him. He was quiet throughout the whole ride. That deserves five stars."
That's the highest amount of concern that he or Wrath could mount for the two of them. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to stop him.
He doesn't even know if the video is real and he doesn't care if it is real or not. He continued with his mission while keeping his mind on his reward. He wasn't willing to give up a million dollars for the human farms or the sneaky lady that bugged him.
He reached the middle of the human farm with no one coming to stop him. The middle of the floor was an empty hallway between rooms full of human farms.
He plugged in the electroshock bomb in his suitcase to the wall. Then he began rushing back to the elevator.
The electroshock bomb will work without the support of external electricity, but it will work for a longer period of time, and it will also cut off the electricity to the establishment.
If there is no protective fuse between the connection of the floor to the whole building, then the whole building will lose power. But if there is a protective fuse, then it will break and only the floor will suffer a blackout.
Once it has been plugged in, it will discharge its payload in a maximum of 60 seconds. This cannot be changed, and anyone that wants to stop the bomb must be able to break the suitcase in less than 60 seconds. This is why he had to leave as soon as possible.
The boss saw him running for his life after setting something up on her farm. It clued her to the danger she is in. She was smart enough to realize that it was a significant danger if the man who broke down her security would run for his dear life to avoid it.
She had two choices: one was to escape as soon as possible, and the second was to try to neutralize the threat. There is the disadvantage that she didn't know what kind of threat it would be. But there is also the advantage of using her employees to test the threat.
So in general, at best, she had a 50-50 chance of neutralizing the threat. She didn't like those chances, but escaping comes with its own problems too.
There are two access points that serve as the entrance and exit into the floor. Those access points are through the elevators. She has to open the security doors of her bunker, the other security protocols she used to seal off access to her side of the floor, and then rush to the elevator.
All of these would take time, so it was not easy to escape either. But she didn't have much of a choice in the matter. She rushed to escape while hoping that she wouldn't have to wait for too long for the elevator to descend to her floor and open for her.
Kelvin was having that problem. He reached the exit quickly, but he had to wait for the elevator. Fortunately, he was able to make it in time. The elevator descended and he entered it.
Then he turned to face the lady pointing 10 guns at him. These guns are hovering in front of her so she didn't need to hold them to use them.
There was five on each of her sides all ready to shoot him. To top it off, she had replaced her two eyes with mechanical augments. It was a single black glass panel cross where are eyes should be. It had four pupils glowing a menacing red from beneath it.
She would have looked terrifying to someone else, but he was far from being terrified.
He asked her calmly, "Are you coming or not?"
She was conflicted about what to do. She wanted to escape, but she didn't want to leave with him. It is clear that she would just be jumping into another problem. That is even if there is any threat.
She thought to herself in sudden realization, "There might actually be nothing to fear. This might be a plot to get me to come out."
Fortunately, things became clear when something struck her head and cracked her skull. She fell to the ground, thinking to herself, "Why am I feeling lightheaded?"
Kelvin chuckled as the elevator closed and rose to the first floor. He had thrown a gun at her since it would jam if he tried to shoot it to kill her. He had thrown it with so much force that the gun had embedded itself into her skull as good as a stone or a knife.
Wrath said with amusement, "They said that a gun cannot kill her. They were clearly wrong."Nôv(el)B\\jnn
He was in a good mood too. He said with a smile, "Mission accomplished."
He had killed her because she could have called down the elevator and exposed him to the effect of the bomb if he had left her. Unlike when he wanted to reach this floor, more than one person can exit it at the same time. So he felt it was better to neutralize her than let her sabotage him.
He doesn't think the electroshock bomb can do much damage to him, but he felt it was better to be cautious and avoid it. So he doesn't want anything to interfere with him escaping.
He returned five minutes later to the floor and found that every person and electronics on the floor had been neutralized. The floor was dark, and everyone, including the workers still hiding, were no longer moving.
Even the corpse of the dead boss was affected by the bomb. Her skin had been scorched. It has even cracked in several places, and her veins had blackened so much that they appeared black through any clear skin on her body.
But this is only surface damage, though. The main damage is the damage to the nervous system and heart. The bomb had discharged enough electricity into the air to simulate the effects of a lightning strike hitting everything.
