Chapter 149: Mu Xuanyin
Chapter 149: Mu Xuanyin
"Bingyun," Mu Xuanyin turned around, her expression softening as she walked toward her sister.
She has long hair that stretches all the way to her waist and it has a special kind of icy color. It isn't pure white but a lustrous white that is freckled with icy crystals and gleaming with a bit of light blue. Her hair is dazzlingly beautiful under the light. Her beautiful face, slightly slanted crescent brows, misty eyes, and gentle light pink-colored lips could bewitch the soul and contain an indescribable charm.
Her figure is alluring to the extreme. A snow-colored ribbon is tied around her willow-thin waist and the snow robes covering her chest look so round and full it is as if something would burst out of its trappings at any moment. The buttocks beneath her slim waist are also rounder and firmer. Her entire body was dripping with a kind of allure and charm that ate away at both bones and souls.
With her hands behind her back, she said, "I heard about that little guy who caused such a commotion, and now you've taken him as your disciple."
As the Realm King and the sole Divine Master among the Middle Star realm's leaders, her oppressive aura struck fear and reverence into all who lived under her rule. Most wouldn't dare to even meet her gaze. Yet, when she was with her younger sister, she could finally relax and show her true self.
"That's indeed true. I'm here to talk to you about him," Mu Bingyun replied with a slight nod. She then shared everything about Yun Wuji, including his use of Light Profound Energy. Although she had promised to keep it a secret, she had never intended to hide it from her sister.
"Are you sure it is the Light Profound Energy?" Mu Xuanyin was very shocked after listening to her, and it took her a long time to process everything. She finally looked at her sister and asked.
There are countless talented people in this world, including many Divine Masters and even God Emperors, but throughout the entire Primal Chaos, only one person has ever been able to use Light Profound Energy, Shen Xi! This has been true throughout the entire history of the God Realm, yet now someone who can use it has appeared? And in the tiny Snow Song Realm, no less!
"Yeah, I experienced it myself. The Light Profound Energy is even more incredible than the rumors say," Mu Bingyun nodded, her voice filled with complex emotions. "I had already resigned myself to die, but after he helped me, the poison had already subsided by over 30%." Mu Xuanyin walked over and took her sister's hand, inspecting her body. Just as she had said, her body was starting to recover, and the poison that had plagued her had subsided significantly.
"It's true... Light Profound Energy is truly miraculous!" She let go of her hand and exclaimed softly, but she didn't stay shocked for long. She shook off the surprise and asked, "He wants to enter the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake?"
"That's right, I hope sister can agree to his request," Mu Bingyun replied.
She wanted to help him, not just because he helped her or because of his talent, but because something about him made her feel that she should. Maybe it was his pure, untainted eyes? Or his soft and calming aura? Maybe even she wasn't sure.
"Since he helped you, I will naturally repay him. He can enter the Lake starting tomorrow. As for the Profound Jades and Cores, I'll have someone send them to him," Mu Xuanyin said as she patted her shoulder.
"Thank you, sister," Mu Bingyun smiled softly.
...
The next day, after Yun Wuji helped Mu Bingyun cleanse her poison, she led him toward the core area of the sect, where the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake was located.
When they reached the place, there was a barrier. Yun Wuji looked at it and asked, "Is the sect master inside?"
Normally, she should be inside, since the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake is the divine vein of the entire realm. If it were destroyed, the Snow Song Realm would begin to decline and soon degrade into a Low-Rank Star Realm.
Thinking of that unreasonable and cold woman, Yun Wuji wasn't sure how to face her. Would she ask him to kneel the moment she saw him? Or would she talk to him like a normal person and actually express some gratitude?
He truly didn't know how to deal with her. She was so different from his unreliable Portable Star God Jasmine. Honestly, even dealing with Luo Guxie was a lot easier than handling Mu Xuanyin.
"No, sister has something important to do," Mu Bingyun shook her head. As she finished speaking, the barrier in front of them opened, forming a two-meter-tall hole wide enough for people to enter.
Normally, the only person with the ability and authority to open the barrier was the realm king, but Mu Xuanyin had given Mu Bingyun a jade talisman that allowed her to open it as well.
Mu Bingyun stepped inside, and Yun Wuji followed her. The moment he entered, he felt the ice element was much more concentrated here. The temperature was so low that even someone at the Sovereign Profound Realm would be shaking from the cold. Yet, strangely enough, there was no snow or ice. Instead, the space was emerald green, with myriad flowers blossoming, emerald grass swaying, and jade trees standing tall.
At the center of this world was a quiet little lake. The lake was fifteen kilometers wide, and its boundaries could be seen with a single glance. The water was tranquil, not a single ripple in sight, yet it sparkled and was unimaginably pure.
Looking at the lake, Mu Bingyun turned around to face Yun Wuji and said, "This is the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake. Sister already said that you can stay for at most a month, but I need to warn you, don't stay inside too long and don't go any deeper. The extremely high level of cold energy might be more than you can handle."
The lake contains extreme cold energy, the result of a divine vein left behind from the Era of Gods. The deeper one goes, the colder the energy becomes. It's so cold that, in the history of the sect, no one has ever reached the bottom of the lake, not even Mu Xuanyin. "Thank you, Fairy Bingyun. I'll keep your warning in mind. I still haven't fully healed you yet, so I won't risk my life," Yun Wuji replied with a smile.
Mu Bingyun shook her head slightly and added, "I will leave for now. When I leave, the barrier will close, and the only way to get out is either to wait for me or for the sect master to open
the barrier for you."
"Feel free to cultivate in peace. I'll return later to check on you."
"Alright," Yun Wuji nodded, then watched as Mu Bingyun left.
Once she left, he turned around and walked toward the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake. Standing
at the edge, he gazed at the unimaginably pure, sparkling water. As he did, he thought about
Mu Xuanyin.
He, of course, didn't believe that she "had something to do."
What could be so important that it required a Divine Master to personally handle? Were all the elders and grand elders dead?
Furthermore, what could possibly be more important than the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake? Shouldn't she be standing guard in case he tried something with it?
So the only conclusion he could draw was that she was hiding somewhere, observing him. She
might have even been watching him since yesterday. After all, among all the female characters in the novel, she was the one who truly deserved the title of "stalker."
She had that strange hobby of hiding herself and stalking Yun Che.
'If she's watching me, I might as well give her a nice 'gift,' hehe,' Yun Wuji thought. Immediately, he took off his clothes, revealing his perfect body, leaving only his underwear on. He lowered his head to look at his reflection in the lake and thought narcissistically, 'Sigh, just look at how handsome and perfect I am. In some way, I can understand why Narcissus fell in love with himself.'
Suddenly, he shook his head and thought, 'Nah, that's a bit too much, even for me.'
He slowly stepped into the lake until his whole body was submerged. Once inside, he dove straight down, reaching about 200 feet.
He closed his eyes. The inconceivably heavy cold energy made him feel extremely comfortable and refreshed. He spread his arms and greedily absorbed the countless strands of cool currents flowing into his body, letting himself sink deeper. The sensation was so soothing that he almost wanted to fall asleep right there.
Above the lake, in the sky, a blue figure stood, looking down at the lake. Mu Xuanyin was
observing Yun Wuji's actions, her face darkening from the sight of him stripping naked in front of her. Is this the man who's supposed to have the heart of a saint? she thought. How could he be so shameless? And look at him, why was he admiring his reflection in the lake for so long? How could there be such a narcissistic guy?!
If it wasn't because she wanted to hide herself, she would've already appeared and given him
a good beating!
"...!!!" However, all these thoughts were quickly cast aside after she observed him for a few minutes. Her pupils shrank, and for a split moment, her aura fluctuated violently. Inside the lake, after Yun Wuji played around for a few minutes, he began to dive deeper.
As he descended, the cold energy around him gradually grew heavier.
To others, the Heavenly Netherfrost Lake's cold energy was a nightmare. However, this peak elemental environment was perfectly compatible with the Great Way of the Buddha. To Yun
Wuji, it felt like paradise.
In this kind of environment, even if he didn't do anything, his profound strength would
quickly increase!
Mu Xuanyin watched as he went deeper and deeper.
Two thousand feet...
Four thousand feet...
Seven thousand feet...
Ten thousand feet...
Soon, her senses couldn't detect him anymore.
When Yun Wuji was less than a thousand feet from the bottom of the lake, he saw a crystalline
blue light suddenly appear in the underwater world. It was the imprint of a strangely shapedn/ô/vel/b//in dot c//om
blue-colored arcing light.
This was the cold vein of the Snow Song Realm.
Upon seeing it, he immediately accelerated his descent, following the blue light.
As he quickly neared, the light grew even more lustrous. Broken pieces of sand began to
appear at the bottom of the Heavenly Lake. Each piece was translucent and bright, like pearls, reflecting a dreamy blue glow. After passing through the jewel-like broken sand, he drew
closer and closer to the exceptionally bright blue light. Finally, he was able to see a block of ice shaped like a diamond.
'Let's bullshit another one,' Yun Wuji thought, staring at the block of ice.
