Volume 6 Chapter 92: Variant

"Hah!" Shakti slammed her axe right through the monster's neck, splitting it in half. And that wasn't the end as she swung her axe upwards to take out another one. As she continued to take them out, three more jumped at her back.

"Rwar!" But what came next was an agonizing scream. Shakti turned around to see smaller monsters down on the ground. She raised her thumb up as she continued to take them down.

"Everyone, back off now!" Hearing his orders, everyone backed away from the monsters. What came next was a giant explosion!

"Good job, everyone! Collect the monsters, and let's head onwards." Titus ordered. Like that, some of the members placed the monsters into their bag. Keith was one of them.

These guys are getting bigger.

They were on the 11th floor. And he realized the monsters became larger than the others.

"What's with the gloomy look, Keith?" Shakti wrapped her hand around Keith's neck.

"I was thinking about how dangerous the dungeon had become," Keith answered.

"That's to be expected. We are heading down to the lower floors." It was to be expected. As they progressed down, the difficulty increased. That was especially so with floors after the floor boss. The group was in the middle of the 11th floor. From the first to the end of the second floor, it took the same amount of time.

"It feels off." But this is a lot harder. And he wasn't the only one. Titus and the other leaders felt something off as well. The four stared at one another, giving signals.

Something is definitely up.

"Relax, we can do anything with this group." Shakti grinned. There was no need to be anxious. They had 4 A-rank parties working together. They weren't going down without a fight.

"You're right." Keith grinned. There was really nothing to worry about. After collecting all of the monsters, they headed off again. It was a rinse-and-repeat cycle as they continued to move.

"We're going to head to the 12th floor," Titus exclaimed as they headed down again. And when they entered the floor, Keith marveled at the sight.

It was a giant plain. As the group went forward, Titus frowned. Strange, why isn't there any presence? It was silent and calm. That was the problem. The floor shouldn't be like this. They should have heard a roar or something.

It was a calm before the storm.

"!" Titus jolted as he quickly shouted, "Prepare for battle! There's a monster in front of us!" When everyone heard that, everyone faced forward, preparing to battle. But what came out surprised them.

"What is that?" Keith couldn't tell what it was. The monster was smaller when compared to the ones on the 11th floor. It looked like a raptor and had three horns on its head.

The body was black and covered in sleek scales.

Its amber eyes locked on the group.

"Let's do this, everyone!" Craig slammed his shields together, ready to block the monster's attack! However, Titus quickly roared,

"Morgan, mages! Quickly use all of your defensive magic!" Morgan quickly chanted without any hesitation. But it was too late. That was because the raptor charged at him before they could finish!

What happened next dumbfounded everyone.

"Grahh!" Craig and the others raised their shields to block it. But the horned raptor blasted through them! The vanguard was sent flying in different places.

"Change to formation B!" Titus didn't hesitate as he changed the formation! Their vanguard being destroyed brought shock to everyone. However, he didn't let that affect him.

He had something in case their vanguard group was weakened.

"Understood!" Morgan and Galven's party quickly rushed into the center. Titus's group did the same! That was one of the formations Titus told them during the meeting. When the center was broken, the forward members of each wing would rush to the center, filling in the gap.

"Hold them back and let the mages chant!" This was a hold strategy. The mages were the main firepower, bombarding the entire area.

"What is that thing? To take down Craig is absurd." Craig was by far the sturdiest and one of the heaviest as well. Yet, that raptor sent him flying in the sky!

"It has to be a variant," Galven muttered.
